Which of Ron Paul’s positions do you consider to be ‘nuts’?
If you listen to Ron Paul much of what hes says is on the money. His positions on limited government, the overall role of the federal government and our constitution are solid. Very few politicans have Pauls knowledge of the constitution.I differ with his views on foreign policy to mention but one. However, having listened to the rational for his policies, I admit his positions are reasoned and thoughful.
I would not consider him to be a nut. Many in the media, political elites from both parties and those who embrace the status quo are inclined to marginalize Ron Paul. Paul has been at the forefront of Second Amendment rights for his entire congressional career. I share his position regarding gun rights in America. Many of those calling Paul a nut are those who believe the second amendment is a collective right and therefore can be denied to the individual via legislation.
Further, those on the Republican side of the ledger had best keep the nut language to a minimum. We as Republicans DO NOT want Ron Paul running as a third party candidate. If he does we better get used to the sound of saying President Clinton or President Obama for four years. Either of these two socialists can and will cause a heap of damage in a period of 4 short years. The though of Clinton or Obama appointing federal judges scares me to death.
Paul should be embraced for the ideas and policies in which we agree for the sake of America.

I agree completely. While I disagree with Paul’s stand on the war and foreign policy (to a certain degree) I agree completely on his thoughts on reducing the size of government and paying attention to a certain document called the U.S. Constitution. I have not yet decided to vote for him in the primary but I’m awfully darn close to it. The establishment GOP needs to take a close look and see what is going on with the Paulites. It is true that more than a few are conspiracy types, but his people are motivated, active, and are forking over the money.
The Stupid Party risks looking even more stupid if it alienates those people and loses them (granted a lot of them will go Libertarian/Constitution Party if Paul doesn’t get the nomination regardless of the GOP establishment says or doesn’t say).
It will be interesting to see how Paul does in Iowa and New Hampsire.

I listened to him on the radio a few months ago, he was answering questions from callers.
Every caller brought up a different immigration bill he voted for in favor of illegals and every answer was “If I Did, I Don’t Recall.” He said that he can not remember every bill he votes on.
How convenient, he just can’t remember the immigration bills he voted on.
I was beginning to think he was a lawyer instead of a doctor. We truly do not need another president that can’t recall what he did, maybe He inhaled.
I’ll kick Paul’s ass back to whatever hick town/rock he crawled out of in Texas, if he utters one more foul word about the War. And we all know I’ve got at least ONE GOOD REASON to do it.
Paul isolationist: wants nothing to to with NAFTA, GAT, OR WTO for example.
Wants to negate Row V. Wade (back to the “good” old days and back alleys).
Wants hospitals not to be able to give birth certificates to babies born to illegal immigrants.
Repeal of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act; repeal of assault weapon ban, end ban on carrying fire arms in National Parks.
There’s a lot more abt him I don’t agree with, which doesn’t necessarily make him a nut, but pretty near. FYI, I gotta go back to bed.

2. Roe v. Wade should be overturned. Have you even read it? The “logic” is tortured beyond all recognition.
3. Why should hospitals give birth certificates to children of illegal immigrants?
4. The Brady Act is irrelevant — since most states have an instant background check, there is no more waiting period. The Assault Weapons Ban has already expired. Since the possession of firearms by law-abiding citizens reduces crime, allowing them in National Parks is a good idea.

The guy makes more sense on taxes, spending and borders than most of the other candidates. He also is loaded with campaign contributions. He aint going anywhere.

They have done nothing but fill this country with cheap goods (that must be constantly replaced and are unsafe) while supporting communism (building China’s military) and a variety of other things. They has harmed more countries than it has helped, with the exception of China and India.
Our manufacturing has been taken over or outsourced at the expense and health of our citizens while allowing China to become the super power while we are funding and allowing it. People should be learning Chinese instead of Spanish because that is exactly where we are headed.

This country would be in better shape if it copied 85% of their laws. The remaining 15% are laws they changed to counter our laws to benefit their citizens in our country. Aside from a portion of Ron Pauls foreign policy positions and his take on the current war I am just jiggy with the rest of your list.
Those who have become comfortable with Government running their lives via the creation of the nanny state, are often the ones who refer to those of us who advocate a return to a strict constitutional template as nuts. I guess that makes me a nut.
It’s funny that all you “constructionists” (read: right-wing activists) have a problem with giving a birth certificate to a child of an undocumented migrant.
Glossing over the thought of having a child be born without any paperwork boggles the mind, thee are two good reasons:
First, the practice and law of making all people born in the U.S. citizens, and therefore entitled to a birth certificate, predates the Constitution in the U.S.
Second, the 14th amendment clearly states that people born in the U.S. are citizens. Section 1 of that amendment is a good read. It was created to protect blacks who “immigrated” in non-standard ways so were being denied rights given to whites, and has many parallels to today.
So, it’s interesting that the first thing you “constructionists” want to do is change the Constitution.
I can define Paul as being a nut simply because all of you nuts like him.
Last thing, in #3: As opposed to the incredible, horrible, God-awful damage that’s been done in the last seven years????? That will be at least 20 years undoing???????

The 14th Amendment states, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
The question is, is a person born to an unlawful alien subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. If a member of the diplomatic corps of another nation has a child here, or if a member of a hostile armed force has a child here, that child is not a citizen of the United States. Thus, exceptions exist based on the jurisdiction question.
Since an unlawful alien is supposed to be given access to his consulates if charged with a crime, there is a question of jurisdiction. Section 5 gives Congress the power to clarify that issue via appropriate legislation.

Send the kids back with their parents where they belong. The kids born here of Mexican parents are also Mexican Citizens. Mexico does this to ensure that “Everywhere there is a Mexican, There is Mexico.” Similar quote from their Mexican president.
Dual Citizenship is not supposed to be allowed in this country, so in other words all kids of Mexicans are Mexican Citizens.

Dual citizenship in this country is completely fine in almost all cases. The Supreme Court in 1967 and 1980 eliminated most objections.
