Thoughts in McCain’s VP Pick

February 3rd, 2008 by joe

No links, no news, simply hearsay - in other words, my comfort zone:

A friend from South Carolina tells me there is a rumor of Lindsay Graham as John McCain’s running mate. Now wouldn’t that just be the cherry on this sundae?

For one, we know McCain would likely pick Kim Jong-Il before he would invite Mitt Romney onto the ticket so we know that ain’t gonna happen. Ace has the rumor of McCain-Huckabee, but that just seems too neat for the Maverick. The Maverick, in my view, would not simply want to spit in our faces but would need to remind everyone he is his own man, so I’m giving the Lindsay Graham rumor some credence.

Richt State, wrong person. My pick would be Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina. He’s young, energetic, conservative, articulate, and in his second term anyway.

I think your right Mac will pick someone who is going to completely tick off the base. The sad thing is I really don’t think he comprehends or cares.
If he wins it will be moderately better then Hillary and Bill and if he loses I’ll at least get to see the world’s biggest loser figure out his ascension will never be in the cards. Either way I’ll be watching a lot of Discovery Channel and Food Network for at least the next four years.

Now the question I want to know is after the election will we see the fairness doctrine again?

I’m wondering, Joe, when you will be following your favorite person in the world, Ann Coulter, who can do no wrong, and endorse Hillary Clinton:

No Zimzo, although Ann Coulter is in fact smarter than all of those who attempt to freeload for PR points off of her public statements - which in this case means, YOU - I have some other things going on at the moment. Consequently, my take on the upcoming elections will have a slightly different slant.

Lindsey Gee is in the sights of the SC conservatives. He can expect a fight in the primary.

    zimzo,
I watched coulter announce her support for HRC on Hannity. Goes tou show you that HRC really has a lock on the white single professional women’s vote.

Conservatives of the world Unite !

Chant after me, Jim DeMint, Jim DeMint, Jim DeMint ! Keep going, keep chanting until McCain screams - Alright already ! I’ll pick DeMint.
If McCain is elected he will only serve 4 years. We can then pin a note to his sweater , send him to the dog track with a handful of 20’s.Then, we get DeMint elected to steer the USS America back on its proper course.

    Stone,
I would prefer to avoid having McLame as the captain of our fair ship. I do not want o risk running her aground and see her beam broken. I care too much for her to allow so great a tragedy.

Lest you all forget, do you think it might be a possibility that savior John might extend his hand across the isle (snicker point) to, say, John Kerry? No joking about 2 more johns to flush. Think of it this way. Heinz could branch out and start a new salsa line. I say vote for ketchup for every American burger!

  11. Joe Budzinski said:

There’s now a new rumor of McCain picking Bloomie as VP.

  12. ACTivist said:

Bloomie? I guess that would be okay. That gives us TWO moderate conservatives running the country!

Activist - Can I use the 2 Johns and Heinz-salas-ketchup line? Too funny to keep here.

As much as I love DeMint, does he want to be McCain’s patsy? McCain will not utilize his VP’s strengths, he is ready to rule supreme. Look for him to suit up in a uniform and start marching around.

With Ann Coulter HRC nit only gets the womes vote but also the conservitive man bashing lesbian vote too

I am not a big McCain fan but he would hold the white house for the GOP. I do not understand how conservatives and people like Pat Robertson could support a pro-life, pro-gay marriage, cross dressing, 3 time married, guy like Rudy G. because they though he could win…but not be able to swallow a man with over an 80 rating…

and then argue we would be better with HRC…

Mike F - What an inane statement. Ann Coulter should be put in a deepfreeze until election is over along with Limbaugh, Dobbs, and the Pillsbury doughboy whose name I can’t recall.

Rumor on our news in CT and RI tonight about CT Gov. M. Jodi Rell is being considered. Esp. since she won with 75% in a blue state, has been a McCain supporter, is a moderate conservative and before moving here after getting married was born, raised and lived in VA.

    Fran,
Interesting Idea, the trouble is she still won’t deliver CT. Face it, McCain has trouble with his right, not his left.
