Jack,
In 'Part I' of this tribute the death of the party I grew up with I mentioned that the one good thing that will come out of this is the closing of the primaries. Republican did not elect McLame, Democrats and Independents gave him life. The liberal MSM touted what a great guy he is as well. Once the curmudgeon won the nomination they promptly turned on Mr Maverick. Why support an erzatz Democrat when you can support the real McCoy?

To whom will we be saying that? The party leaders? It was not they who chose McCain, but the primary voters.

How would you change the process such that a more palatable candidate will be chosen, or are you just trying to discourage unpalatable candidates from running? The problem is that McCain was more palatable to more Republican voters than anyone else.

Dan,
"advocating for staying home on election day,” Time To Party”, does not also split the conservative vote ? Your rationale seems a little inconsistent here."
It is not. There is a subtlety here, if we run out and vote for someone else the doofuses who currently run the Republican party will claim we went and 'wasted' our vote on the 3rd party candidate. If we stay home the message is clearer, "This Republican candidate is not acceptable!"

Bob Barr was great for second amendment rights. Ol' Bob wants us out of the middle east post-haste. I woundn't say that he is a conservative. Everyone hits the dartboard with a dart once in a while.

Again, Jacob, I would like to impress upon you the importance of voting. On the other hand, being as how this election stinks from here to Katmandu, I would like to see about 6 to 8 candidates from every party and fringe running for the "gold ring". Other countries do it. Why should it be so strange for us to have other than a 2 or 3 party system?

Dan,
I am against all third party conservative candidates. All you do is split the conservative vote. Thats how we got ol' Bubba C in the first place.

I would like for him to pick Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, Tom Tancredo or Duncan Hunter. I will vote for the liberal donkey as long as he doesn't pick Bloomberg. Then I swear I'm going to write in Ted Nugent.
