Mothers Day in the Animal Kingdom

May 12th, 2008 by joe

Dog takes kittens as children

Ok, you softies are going to absolutely love this story.

A female dog takes on a litter of kitties; a cat takes on a deer fawn; a leopard takes a monkey. Mothering instinct at its best.

Happy Mother’s Day, all.

The leopard-monkey thing is the weirdest, but this story proves why our fury, four legged friends are the best. I hope the mother dog finally gets adopted after raising her own litter then this litter of cats! She needs a rest.

There was a very interesting program on Animal Planet last night about a lioness that had adopted several Ibix calves to raise as her own.
