Obama Keeps “Muslim Obama” In The News

July 17th, 2008 by joe

What a dope:

In his first substantive talk about the magazine’s inflammatory cartoon depicting him and his wife as fist-bumping terrorists, Obama told CNN’s Larry King the image fueled misconceptions and insulted Muslim Americans…

“I’ve seen and heard worse,” Obama said. “[Still], in attempting to satirize something, they probably fueled some misconceptions about me instead.”

What he should have said is, “Heh, it’s funny, they do this all the time, right? I’m a public figure.” The best thing he can say without answering “no comment.”

By attempting to defend himself, Obama keeps the issue alive. Like I said, playing defense means he has something to defend against.

This whole issue of Barack Obama’s Muslim, anti-American, pro-terrorist alleged affiliations is blossoming.

It’s only July, folks.

I am guessing by the time September rolls around the Obama campaign will be holding out for nothing more than a single podcast debate with John McCain aired solely over an IRC channel. Barack has, as they say, some “issues.”

John McCain should be chomping at the bit to get this guy in a public forum.

Considering you once said about the George Allen “macaca” incident, “I think it’s going to work in Allen’s favor if the dolts decide to keep pressing the issue” (whoops!), you may not be the best person Obama could go to for political advice. My feeling is that the discussion over the New Yorker cover actually makes it harder for people on the right-wing fringe to perpetuate the false rumors about Obama, the way you tried to do in your first comment on the cover. Bringing them out in the open now lessens the impact of the whispering campaign that has been going on and the longer this discussion goes on the less impact those lies have. So maybe you and your extreme right-wing buddies should think of a Plan B.

Obama is a professional speaker, a middling campaigner(as this article shows), and an untested politician whose voting record is party line all the way down. He has no executive experience and given his penchant for voting with the wind he appears to have no desire to truly lead.

The guy has thus far used each position he has attained on the political ladder as a stepping stone for the next position higher up the chain. He has never staid in place long enough to learn anything about the job. For once in place he was already campaigning for the next position.

At least Clinton was governor for 8+ years. I recall what a total freak show Clinton’s first two years where. The faux pas were many and amateur hour was the order of the day. We were blessed with world peace and the Clinton’s ran as centrist so they where able to dip into the Republican talent pool and the business community.

Obama will be a war time president whether he likes it or not. He is so beholden to the fruitloops at MoveOn and the other left wing whackos that he will not be able to tack to the center. It will be a royal disaster. I hope from that charred smoking ruin the Democrat party will be laid to rest for a generation. Unfortunately, the Republicans will find a way to raise the Jackass party from the dead.

    zimzo,
considering no one gets it right all the time, I would say the Joe is better at predicting the future than you imply. Who would have predicted Allen messing up how he handled that issue as badly as he did?

As for the ‘Whispers’ campaign, get over Nixon. I would focus on your candidate if I was you. White guilt will only carry him so far. He is the candidate of change for sure. He changes his positions more often than anyone I have ever seen. The real groovey part is how he claims he never said things in that oh so 1984 way. A true socialist that one. Orwell is laughing his head off.

“These fallacious e-mails and The New Yorker cartoon are “actually an insult against Muslim Americans,” he said. There are “wonderful Muslim Americans” across the country, Obama said, and “for this to be used as sort of an insult, or to raise suspicions about me, I think is unfortunate.”

“It’s not what America’s all about,” he said.”

Has anyone noticed that Bore-rock does have experience and a forte far better than the Clinton’s? His adeptness at spin is undeniable. I knew that somehow us poor white cracker, gun toting, Bible beholding, GOD fearing, country loving racists conservatives would get the final blame in all this. After all, he wouldn’t want to piss-off any of his liberal constituency!

BTW Bore-rock; what is America all about in your eyes?

    Jacob,

    “Obama is a professional speaker”

I would modify this by saying he is a professional speech giver. This is where he shines, but we cannot overlook the fact that these words are not his own.

Obama is taking a contingent of top network news people and celebrities to Iraq with him, in short it is a song and dance show. I think he has Fergie opening up, along with back up by Katie Couric and Brian Williams.

It will also be interesting to see how he handles the new Jesse Jackass quote from the FN hot mic episode.

It will be a long hot summer, not that this post has anything to do with his pro or anti Muslim situation.

    Cathymac,

As long as you use the word Osama-bama, you are on topic!
