Sarah Barracuda!
September 3rd, 2008 by joe
That was one of the best political speeches I have ever seen. Sarah Palin was under the microscope and she basically turned around and smashed it.
Palin went from nobody to one of the most electrifying political figures in America in the space of 40 minutes. Democrats, you have a fight on your hands. Let the games begin.

This woman is the real deal. If this is a baseball game Gov Palin just hit the first homerun.
September 3rd, 2008 at 11:33 pm
Given all the attacks that have been heaped upon her the last few days by the media, and the Dem attack dogs, Sarah did deliver a knockout speech, hitting the McCain/Palin opponents square in the mouth.
There can be no doubt to anyone capable of cognitive reasoning that McCain absolutely made the correct choice for his running mate. She has an everywoman and everyman quality to her that I believe will resonate strongly with voters. To many, they will see in Sarah a real person, facing life’s curve balls as they do.
Btw, O’Reilly announced that BO is going to be on the Factor tomorrow night for an interview.
September 3rd, 2008 at 11:51 pm
It is a huge problem for the Democrats. They don’t have any alternative to offer up against what we saw on the stage tonight. She is a better speaker than Obama, by a long shot, and Biden is just another longtime DC insider.
Whew, anyone want to ask about John McCain’s judgement now?

…Lipstick.”
‘Nuff said.

I see an illness in Bidens future……
hello Hillary, its barrack Obama. Old Joe Biden has just come down with a rare but deadly disease call Crummypickitis. What are you doing from now until let’s say the first week in November ?
September 4th, 2008 at 12:11 am
My favorite quote from her, but Rudy did well, too. “Hope…is not a strategy”.
September 4th, 2008 at 12:12 am
“I hope Biden has that VP thing in writing”…
September 4th, 2008 at 12:24 am
HA!
September 4th, 2008 at 5:38 am
Viva la Barracuda!
September 4th, 2008 at 5:45 am
Monk, they should bumpersticker the quote from Rudy:
“Change is not a destination, and hope is not a strategy.”
It would go on my car.

I loved the line, “Being mayor of a small town is like being a community organizer except yu got responsibility.” KILLER!
She is excellent at plunging in the verbal shiv, Obama got knifed last night, several times.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:05 am
As an elected official in Leesburg, I really resent the liberal elites and Obamanable SnowJobmen as I call the likes of Carville and Kerry, deriding the fact Gov. Palin was the mayor of a small town. First, a town of 9,800 is not “small” by Alaska standards, and it is probably twice the size of Purcellville. Any elected experience is helpful, but being a Mayor and Governor (executive experience) is probably better. I must say that her knowledge of oil and gas issues was compelling. This will be very, very helpful in a McCain administration. I also was very appreciative of her saying she will be an advocate for special needs kids. This should ring loudly for parents of such children — especially kids with autism, who are deprived benefits for counseling and other services that such children need when they are young. There’s a major effort in Virginia to rectify that.

Hey, GOP, Bull’s-Eye! Vice President-to-be Sarah Palin is enough to give our Country solid Hope of continuing on as the Judeo-Christian Nation we were founded to be. Mrs. Palin is smart, strong, eloquent, morally principled & a natural Leader with a succesful track record as the Governor of our largest State. Most importantly, she is a proven Culture of Life proponent. What’s Not To Like?!
PS: Our PCMoron Media better lay off of the Palin Family’s private business, or, we-all might wage a year-long, nation-wide boycott of their advertisers. Time to roll-up our sleeves, Silent Majority, & take back our Nation & it’s media!! Bring a Friend to Vote!!
September 4th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
“Viva la Barracuda!”
Sounds like a bumpersticker to me.
September 4th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
My wife likes to roll over to CNN and MSNBC just to witness the absolute bias that they present over there…for a stark comparison.
I noticed a number of things while we were over there.

September 4th, 2008 at 8:08 pm
Right on, Joe! I’m more excited about this election than ever.
No one is wondering if Sarah Palin knows the price of hamburger - heck, she could butcher the cow, if need be. Sarah P was totally real — she mixed the red meat with a middle America message that most outside the beltway voters can totally identify with.
I saw her as a normal mom whose family has ups and downs, who works hard and is intelligent and informed on the issues. She both introduced herself to the nation and showed the pundits that she will play the vice presidential role well — as a supportive yet strong defender of the next President, John McCain.
September 5th, 2008 at 7:24 am
Eva Marie -
A “normal” mom would not have dragged her 17 year old pregnant and unwed daughter out on the world stage.
Teen pregnancy is a heck of a lot more normal than a mother whose quest for higher office who chooses to expose her daughter to international scrutiny.
At 44, Sarah Palin could well have waited for the next presidential round but, of course, McCain couldn’t do anything but something drastic to save his campaign. He was tanking.
September 5th, 2008 at 8:02 am
Right. Let’s see. The Barack Apollo O’Bama acceptance speech was on Aug. 28th, and McCain announced his choice of VP on the 29th. At that time, McCain had drawn even with O’Bama in the Rasmussen polls, and we were starting to see the usual convention “bounce,” but nothing major.
You call that “tanking”?
September 5th, 2008 at 8:34 am
Jack,
don’t confuse Lovisa with the facts, she gets a headache.
September 5th, 2008 at 8:36 am
eve marie,
spot on. the speech delivery, the wording and the message was middle American. only left wing ideologues won’t be able to realte, and they are not the votes Governor Palin was brought in to get.
September 5th, 2008 at 9:20 am
jacob
You mean the Reps are picky about who votes for them?
She was brought in to get ANY kind of votes/
September 5th, 2008 at 9:24 am
Lovisa,
Sarah Palin is speaking as most people should: direct and to the point.
By bringing the issue up to the fore front she has taken control away from the media. Now they attack her and her family. If she had hidden the issue: the media would have still attacked even harder for “not disclosing the truth: shame on her”
As for international scrutiny, do you even for a moment think the international community gives a damn about this when they have the same issues in their lives’?
What happened to compassion and understanding Lovisa?
What about the love and support this family gives to one another. Is this not an important issue and example?
McCain has chosen an unknown to most people. However Sarah Palin is a person I can understand. She speaks directly and to the point. She does not back down on her convictions. She is for the American people and our nation.
Obama seems to be your man. So if you please, explain why with facts of course the redeeming qualities and experience he has that would make him a fine choice as our commander in chief. What do you hear in his speeches that I am missing? Explain it to me, give me fuel for thought.
Fuel for thought for you Lovisa,
Why is it that Obama during his college days traveled to the Middle East with an Indonesian pass port? I know you can have more than one, but you must be a citizen to receive a passport.
Does this not conflict with his statements of being an American citizen with ties to Indonesia only as a child?
September 5th, 2008 at 10:58 am
Lovisa, I’m impressed, you must be very well connected to the Palin family to know that Sarah dragged her daughter onto the world stage.
I would have thought that being 17, she might realize that this is not just an opportunity for her mother, but her family, her unborn child, and her country.
I would have thought that she might have a deep belief in the “Country First” theme of the campaign, opting instead to go with the mantra of the left “Me First”.
I would have thought, that even though she knows she made a mistake, that even as 17, she is filled with the pride and joy of motherhood.
I would have thought that at 17, she may be more secure in her beliefs, and sense of what is right and wrong, than many of her liberal peers.
I believe, that given the way she is handling things, that this is more of a reflection on the quality of parenting she received, than the one mistake she made.
But, I am obviously not as closely connected to the Palin family as you seem to be.
September 5th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
“What happened to compassion and understanding?”
Indeed! So, Majorie, how would YOU have liked to be in Bristol’s shoes?
A 17 year old who has developed such nobleness for “country first” is truly amazing. Maybe it was that it came from “Mommy first”.
And I’m sure young Levi enjoyed every moment of being nationally recognized as the young father who’s living up to his responsibilty! Right! 18 year old funloving hockey player will really enjoy being a doting dad, maybe living with Sarah Barracuda mother-in-law - maybe in Washington.
September 5th, 2008 at 12:30 pm
First off Lovisa if I was in Bristol’s shoes I would thank God that my parents support me. I would support my parent as well in any job they sought.
But then maybe Dan said it best: since you seem so well acquainted with the Palin family you feel comfortable being :The voice of concern for the whole FAMILY.
September 5th, 2008 at 12:42 pm
“A 17 year old who has developed such nobleness for “country first” is truly amazing.”
Lovisa, let me clue you in on a little reality here, there are a number of 17 and 18 year olds who have volunteered for US military service.
Not all 17 year olds are the whiney bratty little liberals monsters that you see on the Disney channel..
Do you have a daughter ? If so, is she more like Bristol Palin or Lindsey Lohan ? Please don’t give me “it’s none of your business” after injecting your views so strongly against the Palin family.
September 5th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
Lovisa, You are being the quintissential judgemental lib, and quite frankly it is disgusting. Where is the tolerance your side always preaches? I guess if the Palin daughter aborted her baby and it was publicly acknowledged you’d be happy? This is what “choice” is all about, and that you are judging the whole family without knowing a single thing about the situation is predictable and nonsense.
This pregnancy had no chance of being kept a secret, it was impossible because of the intrusive and scum-sucking press, so please stop using the arguement.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
dans -
Do you agree that there’s a slight difference between being on stage with a mother running for vice president and enlisting in the military?
Many 17-18 year olds enlist for an education or to get away from, yes, a small town or parents who are not parenting. All are perfectly OK reasons to me, but the comparison you’re making is illogical.
FYI - My daughter enlisted in the Army after graduating from college. She would have had to wait 6 months for officers school but decided to enlist; went through basic training at Ft. Jackson and eventually went to officers and left as captain when she and her officer husband decided to have children.
She left the Army as a captain at that time, because she felt there was NO way, she could be both an efficient officer and a nurturing mother. There were no grandparents or siblings or cousins etc. to lean on.
Yes,”it’s none of yur business” but I give it to you
anyway.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
I found Sarah Palins speech to be awesome, a breath of fresh air. I am one African American who will vote for the McCain/Palin ticket.
Below is a letter that I sent to my mailing list that I would like to share with you bloggers.
I have been telling many for a long time these facts regarding Obama but now we see it outlined in black and white. Look at the difference in the two, one running for VP and the other running for President. I said it at the National Press Club in February and I will say it again, “There is an awakening going on”. God had me say it seven times before giving me the most profound message that day that was given to 30 reporters. The awakening is happening and we will see God’s great handiwork!!! This is not about a color, a man or a woman it is about God!! The theme of this election is not the war, the economy, or the environment! The theme of this election is BLOOD!!
The lies of Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry. The theme of this election is about the shedding of innocent blood/the war that is waged in the human womb every day, every minute, every hour! This is about the women and men who have been victims of this concentration camp and who still bare the scars from its vicious attacks! This election is about the definition of marriage in our nation and if the Homosexual agenda will have its way and redefine marriage as meaning anything a persons deems it to be at any particular time instead of the Biblical definition of marriage that defines it as being between one-man and one-woman. The theme of this election is about keeping American safe in a very dangerous time. A time when Islamic Terrorist want to put our lights out! What part of the war do you not understand! We have been under attack since the early 1970’s but Carter did nothing, he thought that negotiating with terrorist was the answer (Obama says the same thing but he shouts change!). Clinton did nothing up until the hour he was going to be put under the microscope for his affair with Monica L. Then he ordered a missile surge that accomplished nothing! We were the laughing stock of the Islamic world.
What part of being under attack do you not understand! When the Islamic world declared war on us in the early 1970’s they meant it! When will we stop blaming President Bush for keeping us safe! President Bush was placed into office to stave off Islamic Terrorist! Now God will place leaders in office that will end the war that is waged in the womb! My daughter-in-law described her abortion to me and we both cry ed! This happended before she knew my son. She said that the precious baby tried to get away from the suction device that took its tiny life. Those who call for an end to the war but they do not cry out in anguish when it comes to the war that is going on in the womb! This my friend is a Hypocrite. There will be no prosperity in our country, there will be no safety in our land until we address abortion and the things that God hates.
I cryed when Sarah Palin introduced her family and she referred to her baby as her beautiful Little baby boy! This baby was born with Downs Syndrome! Sarah Palin never once considered abortion! Barack Obama on the other hand told a nurse from Christ Hospital in Chicago who sought the young Senator for help regarding the medical care for infants that are born alive due to a botched abortion. This nurse wanted to be able to administer medicine and food for the infants.but Obama said that this would infringe on Planned Parenthood and a Woman’s right to choose. The baby boy that is referenced here was born alive after a botched abortion, he was born with Downs Syndrome and he lived for a couple of days. The head nurse said that she did not have time to care for the infant and then she told the nurse that the baby should be placed in the soil laundry room and left to die. This nurse could not do this and she sat and rocked the baby until the baby’s last breath! Barack Obama what kind of person are you!! Your pockets are lined in blood money from Planned Parenthood and your corrupt dealings with politicians from the Chicago Machine!
When asked when does life begin? Obama said that it was above his pay scale to know the answer (whatever that means) but McCain said that life begins at conception!! I want to take it a step further, When does life begin? Jeremiah 1:4-5 says “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” What is the answer? Life Begins WITH GOD!!!!
John McCain answered the question with truth and conviction.
Many will be held accountable for their decision to vote for a candidate that arrogantly stands in the face of God and shakes his finger in the air and goes against all that is Holy! There is a price to pay! I believe that God heard the prayers of His servants on that Saturday in July, when we fasted and prayed for 12 hours straight and stood on our nations National Mall and in unity 78,000 believers cryed out for our nation in repentance for our sins, for our part in abortion and our luke-warmness. God will render selective judgement instead of collective judgement. God will clean up our churches, and our government from the Senate to the Congress and He will clean house in the state governments as well. We are the hope of many throughout the world and revival will break out and many will repent and come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. REVIVAL is on the Horizon!! Jesus is coming back soon for a church without spot or blemish!!! Look at God!!
Last night was not only awesome but Sarah Palins speech was anointed. If you think she was reading from a teleprompter than think again!! I am excited about what God is doing and I am looking forward towards revival. See below and pass this on to as many as you can!!
Those of you who know the heart of God…PRAY, PRAY, PRAY! We will see God move in a mighty way.
May a Holy God have mercy on us/AMERICA.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:13 pm
Lovisa, I’m glad your daughter had the opportunity and right to make choices that were best for her and her children, now if you would please extend the same courtesy to the Palin (and millions of other) family, we’d be most appreciative.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:13 pm
cathymac-
You’re always reading me wrong. I’m not for hiding a pregnancy and I think it’s admirable that she decided to keep the baby. You seem to think that I’m gungho for abortion. Nothing could be further from the truth. I don’t know whether I could ever have had one, so that’s not the question here.
What I’m trying to do is to put myself in that young girl’s shoes. My bet is that she would much rather not have it trumpeted that she and her boyfriend were having a baby. It’s the publicity I’m talking about. Nothing to do with tolerance. I don’t know about you, but there but for the grace of God go I! Now shut up about my disgusting intolerance!
I ask again “how would YOU have felt?” Nobody has answered that question as yet.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:24 pm
Lovisa, You seem to think that Palin’s daughter could have just hid and had the baby through this election cycle without ever being found out. That is unbelievably naive.
If you want to question whether Gov Palin should have considered her daughter’s predicament, I don’t buy the arguement that she should have turned down the VP slot because of her daughter’s pregnancy. That is utter BS. The 2 have nothing to do with each other if you believe, like I do, that people can live their lives (warts and all), love their families and perform to the best of their ability. Some people have amazing strength, and I believe Palin is one of those people. If she were a man, these questions would never be asked.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
PS Lovisa, your intolerance is towards the Palin’s decisions.
And how would I have felt - how the hell would I know? I was not pregnant at 17 and my mother was not a politician, but I have an inkling I’d be ok if I had the love and support of my family. Most are.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
“Yes,”it’s none of yur business” ”
Back at ya !
From a male perspective, if I were in his shoes, with the support of my family, and hers, yes, I would have handled it. Part of paying the piper..
I tell you though, this I believe is far less traumatic than the alternative solution, the principle plank in the Dem platform.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
No imagination, eh?
Yes, Sarah should have turned down the offer. If she’s so darn great after 18 months as governor, imagine how absolutely super great she would be in 2008 or 2012. She would be so terrific she could run for president and WIN.
END OF DISCUSSION - FINI!
PS - Missing at Sarah’s speech/ her parents-in-law?
September 5th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
Lovisa, Yes, let’s wait to put someone qualified in the job because a couple crankypants think she needs to wait. Sorry.
So, now you know why her in-laws were not there, ohhhh, please tell. You must have insight into their personal family life, huh?
And no - the discussion will go on ad nauseum! Maybe.
September 5th, 2008 at 2:11 pm
That is your opinion, and you are entitled to it. But surely you realize THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOU !!!!
I will tell you though, I honestly believe that if Bristol had had an abortion, you would be here crowing about what a brave young girl she is, and how well her mother is standing up for a women’s right to choose.
“PS - Missing at Sarah’s speech/ her parents-in-law?”
And ? You bitch about family members being up on stage, now you bitch about others who are not ? Has consistency always been a problem with you ?
September 5th, 2008 at 2:32 pm
“Lovisa, Yes, let’s wait to put someone qualified in the job because a couple crankypants think she needs to wait. Sorry.”
Cmac, All the static is simplyy that they see her as a serious threat for two reasons :
A women of traditional values can be successful. A women of traditional values has eclipsed the success and celebrity achieved by their feminist heroes.
She will be more effective at helping to win the race than Biden. Much of the dumping on her I believe is misdirected frustration at Obama’s lousy pick.
September 5th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
I agree dans, I posted on another thread the same. They (the libs) are scared that women will see that being a Conservative or someone with ‘traditional values’ is, well, ok. They fear that women will think for themselves and not as a victimized group. God help us if we think for ourselves!
September 5th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
“If she’s so darn great after 18 months as governor, imagine how absolutely super great she would be in 2008 or 2012. She would be so terrific she could run for president and WIN.”
Heck, she’s already got more experience than O’Bama. The odds of McCain’s dying in the next year or two are rather slim. A few years as VP and President of the Senate…. Yeah, she’ll succeed McCain in 2017.
September 5th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Jack, personally, after all I have heard about Cindy McCain and her accomplishments, I believe she too is more qualified than Obama.
Imho, Obama is there for one reason, to lock up the black vote so they don’t get turned off while the party panders to the Hispanics and the Leftists.
September 5th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
Lovisa,
You could never put yourself in anyone’s shoes.
You may know someone to a certain extent but in the long run You can never walk a mile in another’s shoes: Why is that?
It’s simple, you may not walk the same mile as another may do.
