Part of the argument against McCain is his age. Of course, he is not opposed becauseof his age, it is merely used as an argument against him. Of course, Gov. Palin is already more experienced than Sen. O’Bama, so it’s not really much of an issue, but the current modus operandi of the leftists is “much ado about nothing” because their candidate has nothing to run on, so they have to make much of His Nothingness.
Still, what arethe odds that McCain will die in office? Well, going to the actualrial tables, specifically the one for White Males, we can compute that, being 72, McCain has a 14.4% chance of dying before the 2012 election, and a 31.7% chance of dying before the 2016 election. This is probably an overestimation, because his health will be constantly monitored and because those numbers go down each year. Before there is even a 10% chance of McCain’s dying, Gov. Palin will have more than two years’ experience as VP. Since she is already more experienced than O’Bama, I’m not too worried about it.
Now, if they want to argue that one does not have the mental faculties at that age…. Well, perhaps then the over-70 croud should not be allowed to vote for President, either.
