Thanks to Jacob for providing the previous post on Obama and his past affiliations with those of shady intent. Obama needs to come clean with the electorate on the extent of his relationships with these individuals.
But, the story does not stop there. Reverend Wright was just one of several undisclosed blips on Obama’s radar screen. It was uncovered recently, that Khalid al-Mansour, key adviser to Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed, was a close associate of Obama’s. How close ? Without the aid of Khalid al-Mansour, it is very likely Obama would never have made it to Harvard.
Percy Sutton, the former borough president of Manhattan, off-handedly revealed the unusual circumstances about his first encounter with the young Obama.
“I was introduced to (Obama) by a friend who was raising money for him,” Sutton told NY1 city hall reporter Dominic Carter.
“The friend’s name is Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, from Texas,” Sutton said. “He is the principal adviser to one of the world’s richest men. He told me about Obama.”
Sutton said he acted on his friend al-Mansour’s advice. “I wrote a letter of support of him to my friends at Harvard, saying to them I thought there was a genius that was going to be available and I certainly hoped they would treat him kindly,” Sutton told NY1.
Khalid al-Mansour was raising money for Obama, and then requests a letter to Harvard to assist with Obama’s admission. The money being raised, could this be how a community organizer, from the South Side of Chicago, financed his Harvard education ? With Saudi money, Wahhabi money ?
Obama continues to refuse to release his Columbia transcripts. Will these show that his entrance into Harvard was not a result of academic achievement, but was instead given to him as a result of his political connections, and Saudi money ?
We should be familiar with Prince Alwaleed, as he recently was involved in his own scandal in conjunction with Georgetown University :

The Center’s director, John Esposito, has been known for his vigorous apologetics for Islamic extremism, authoring several books prior to the endowment’s announcement dismissing the global influence of extremist Islamic ideology. Under Esposito’s oversight, the Center has also developed questionable ties to individuals and organizations directly involved in Islamic terrorism. One example of these ties is the joint conference held by the Center with the United Association for Studies and Research (UASR) in July 2000. By that time, UASR had long been identified as the political command for HAMAS in the United States, and Esposito’s co-chair for the conference was then-UASR executive director Ahmed Yousef, who fled the country in 2005 to avoid prosecution and currently serves as the spokesman for the HAMAS terrorist organization in Gaza.
Georgetown was not the only school to receive a $20 million grant for an Islamic studies center. Harvard was the second. Could Obama ’s Harvard education have been provided to him to lay the groundwork for the future Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Islamic Studies Program there ?
With information on Obama continuing to emerge, it appears that he has even more connections than Kevin Bacon. Unfortunately for us, like “change”, not all connections are good ones.

Slip of the tongue or momentary confusion? In a television interview today discussing his religion, Sen. Barack Obama stated, “My Muslim faith.”
Obama, speaking to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on “This Week,” was talking about what he described as “smears” that were claiming he was a Muslim when he maintains he is a practicing Christian.

Obama has a Muslim name. His dad was a Muslim. According to the Muslim faith Obama was born a Muslim, also according to the Muslim faith Obama is an apostate.

His dad was raised Muslim in Africa. He was not an observant Muslim. His mom was raised Christian, and did not convert to Islam. I am just quoting Islamic law here. Obama is not a Muslim by any yardstick you or I would use. Fair enough?

It is actually a nice name. But it is Semitic which means it is either Hebrew or Arabic.

that’s interesting about the birthright and a non-practicing Muslim father, i wonder how universal that interpretation. i don’t really buy her point that an obama presidency would be a particularly useful propaganda tool and damaging to mid east policy, but thanks for the link!

I think the Obama’s ‘apostasy’ would be acknowledged, but as he was raised without his fathers faith I figure it would be ignored. Granted his step father in Indonesia is another matter, but I really do not know much beyond that.

marjorie, he’s a Christian. he’s attended a church, regardless of it’s politics, for most of his time in Chicago. his name does not make him a muslim anymore than your name makes you a Christian. there are several Christians that have Arabic names; arab is not equal to muslim and muslim is not equal to arab. beyond that, why is this so important? these sort of attitudes are similar to attitudes toward jews in the early 1900s. people within faiths vary significantly.

I don’t think Obama is a practicing Muslim, I believe him when he says he is a Christian. He did study the Koran in Indonesia at a Muslim school as a child - but that was 40 years ago. When he was a child he was the responsibility of his mother, who in my opinion had her own problems, and she chose the school.
Having said all this, I don’t understand why he won’t just explain this. Obama leaves out details of his life and when questioned he points a finger charging people are trying to smear him. This leads people to think he is hiding something, which he is, I just don’t think it is that he is a Muslim. In my opinion Obama is hiding plenty, specifically his ideology. Being truthful would give the public a glimpse of what he really is - a Socialist.

Just because you attend a church does not make you a Christian nor does attending a mosque make you a Muslim so the debate goes.
But in reality Obama has shown to favor his Muslim name and not his Christian name of Barry. He has spoken of his family sending him to Muslim school, he has written books speaking of his Muslim up bringing, he speaks to favor the Muslims, his friends are Muslims and radicals, he hires Muslims in key positions on his campaign staff, he has a Muslim radical open his DNC convention with Muslim prayer. He spoke of traveling the Middle East on an Indonesian passport. As far as I know you must be a citizen of that country or any country to obtain one. You have photos of Obama in Muslim attire. Last but not least you have the casual spoken words”My Muslim Faith” a slip of the tongue possible but not likely, it was spoken by someone who is comfortable in that religion.
How much of “I am not a Muslim” proof do you need?
Answer this: Why does Obama not speak of his faith in God during his campaign speeches? Why does he not express what God has given him and how he asks for God’s direction? A Christian would state this openly.
Why do you only hear God at the end of his speeches as in God Bless America. Have you wondered what his new patriotism is? Have you watched the site where he wants to dismantle our military? His visit to the Middle East, he totally disregards our men and women in uniform. Why would you want this man for president?

Why hasn’t Marjorie heard about the separation of church and state? Why on earth would Obama or any other candidate speak of their faith in God in a campaign speech?

His name is Barack Hussein Obama. Barry was the americanized name. Surely he would have favored Hussein over Barack, had he wanted to flaunt that he was a Muslim, don’t you think?
As for attire - did you see Pres. Bush in his Chinese get-up? There have been other costumed occasions. Clinton was laughed at when he wore a brightly patterned batik shirt on a trip to Indonesia.
I suggest you gather your own little religious cabal to go after Obama.

Lovisa, Obama has plenty of problems with the Rev Jeremiah Wright - he may be a Christian but the Black Liberation Theology he listened to and “studied” is more of a problem to me then what he did when he was 8.

What “separation of church and state”? MY Constitution says “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof….”

Many a candidate has spoken of their faith; Ronald Reagan was one to name. He was very open
about his faith in God.
BTW:
Separation of church and state is the premise that there would be no one state religion.

OK, Barry is not an americanized Barack. It is like Jimmy to James, Chuck to Charles, Jack to John,…. Get the idea? It might be understandable that a little American boy wouldn’t appreciate having a “different” name like Barack, don’t you think?
