Picking up where Shiplap left off, I continue …
As I mentioned before, Obama has some interesting friends. William Ayers was a founding member of the Weathermen. This organization declared war on the the United States in the early 1970’s. They conducted several bombings including the Pentagon. Several members murdered police officers. Bill Ayers’ only regret was that he did not bomb more, and presumably, kill more Americans. Obama began his political career in Ayer’s living room.
Recent efforts to delve into the true nature of the relationship between these two men, by Stan Kurtz of the Hudson Institute has caused an angry reaction to this investigation. The Obama campaign has requested criminal charges be filed at the DOJ, against Kurtz in order to intimidate. Obama has orchestrated an email campaign and tried to intimidate a talk show on which Kurtz was being interviewed, jamming the phone lines. Bill Clinton called Obama a Chicago thug. Mr Change appears to have a nasty side.
Hudson Institute’s Stanley Kurtz was invited on to Milton Rosenberg’s radio show on Chicago’s WGN to discuss what Kurtz had discovered about the William Ayers-Barack Obama connection. After requesting the Justice Department bring about criminal charges to a billionaire who funded an ad that linked Obama to Ayers, the Obama campaign sent out an angry email to their supporters urging them to call into Rosenberg’s show.
What happened to free speech and the free exchange of ideas and information. What is Obama afraid of? If all is sweetness and light why the strong-arm tactics?The reason is that Obama’s account of the relationship is false. From Kurtz’s article in National Review:
Although the press has been notably lax about pursuing the matter, the full story of the Obama-Ayers relationship calls the truth of Obama’s account seriously into question. When Obama made his first run for political office, articles in both the Chicago DefenderHyde Park Herald featured among his qualifications his position as chairman of the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a foundation where Ayers was a founder and guiding force. Obama assumed the Annenberg board chairmanship only months before his first run for office, and almost certainly received the job at the behest of Bill Ayers. During Obama’s time as Annenberg board chairman, Ayers’s own education projects received substantial funding. Indeed, during its first year, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge struggled with significant concerns about possible conflicts of interest. With a writ to aid Chicago’s public schools, the Annenberg challenge played a deeply political role in Chicago’s education wars, and as Annenberg board chairman, Obama clearly aligned himself with Ayers’s radical views on education issues. With Obama heading up the board and Ayers heading up the other key operating body of the Annenberg Challenge, the two would necessarily have had a close working relationship for years (therefore “exchanging ideas on a regular basis”). So when Ayers and Dorhn hosted that kickoff for the first Obama campaign, it was not a random happenstance, but merely further evidence of a close and ongoing political partnership. Of course, all of this clearly contradicts Obama’s dismissal of the significance of his relationship with Ayers.
Obama has been campaigning for close to two years now. Why has the press NOT investigated this man? The public does not need to know Obama’s english grades, but they do need to know about Rezko, Ayers and the other low lives who where in Obama’ s circle when he was up and coming in Chicago.

I guessing you’re aware of how disingenuous that ad is, and just want to play blogosphere pundit for a bit. You don’t really need someone to spell it out for you, do you?
Obama serves on the board of the Annenberg foundation in chicago and now he’s responsible for all the chaos of the 1960s. It’s your same ol’ guilt by association arguement, which would be great if your associations didn’t depend on such leaps in reason. it’s always something like, “So-and-so voted to for a bill to continue funding Amtrak, which is owned by the government, which means it is socially owned, which means so-and-so is a socialist, and so was Hitler.”
here I thought you’d be concerned with the issues. No, you’re taking the synical, fact-twisting character assassination route. That’s how this election should be decided, right?

You obviously either didn’t read the details of this post and know nothing of the corrupt political environs of Chicago, or you are just another Obama Kool-Aid drinker.
Obama’s historical political links to Ayers are just part of the issue. This is not about blaming Obama for Ayers’ actions, but is about Obama’s judgement in continuing to associate with such a traitor as Ayers. It’s also pretty clear to me from the record that Ayers was a mentor of sorts to Obama in Chicago politics. Obama had to know about Ayers’ past at some point, but still stayed with him.
The investigation detailed above opens many interesting and valid questions about the propriety of the management of the foundation which Obama and Ayers served on the Board of. This is the kind of thing that were Obama a Republican, would have been in the headlines long ago and many sinister articles about pay-offs and ethics would have been raised.

if McCain ran so much as a lemonade stand with David Duke he would be run out of town on a rail. Care to argue otherwise? Who you choose to associate with matters. You know it.
Obama is not guilty of terrorism. Nothing in the post indicates as much. Ayers is guilty of terrorist act AGAINST the US. Obama was not involved with ANYHING Ayers did. The question only is WHY would Obama associate with the guy.

I have been doing some googling some biographical data on Ayers and Obama, and there are other interesting angles to the Ayers connection.
Ayers and Obama may have been at Columbia together.
When Obama left the New York area, he went to Chicago, Ayers’ home town.
Ayers’ wife, Bernardine Dohrn was employed by the law firm Sidley Austin in Chicago. The same firm where Michele and Barrack Omaba worked.
Obama mentor Khalid al-Mansour’s birth name is Donald Warden. One of Warden’s followers was Huey Newton, leader of the Black Panthers.
