Former Democratic Senator from Alaska Mike Gravel, quite a liberal himself, drives liberal journalists into conniption fits during an interview about Sarah Palin.

I think the woman commentator/hack actually soiled her pants during the interview. This was priceless!!
Trooper gate will come out in Palin’s favor! The guy did threaten her family. She is the governor, since when can’t an executive fire an employee who is threatening to kill the customer?
Gravel is a liberal, but God bless him the guy has integrity. I am sure he would get my back up on most issues, but I also think I might have a beer with the guy. Darn, the guy has some integrity.
Gravel is an interesting character. He became famous in 1971 when he took a great political risk by reading the Pentagon Papers into the congressional records. He was a fervent opposer of the Vietnam War.
He had a lot to do with getting approval for the Trans-Alaskan pipeline in 1973.
And, he is a Unitarian.
The hosts were pissed he deviated from the leftist script. You could hear the disappointment in their voices.

I didn’t know much about him, when he decided to run for President this year, but I think I do remember seeing that he supported a flat tax. I am glad that he is speaking out, in defense of another principled political leader.
