Well the republicans sunk it. And if something is nit done soon you can count on it, there will be a lot less republicans in congress next year. Especially there will be no Republican president.

THis shows the republican party as we all know it will not exist they got into this financial mess and were in denial for months even years. Saying things the economy is fundamentally sound. And this guy bulletproof monk running around on his site and the collapsed tc site saying we even gained jobs this last couple of quarters. What has happened to the republican party since Reagan???????? And we can’t go back to the Reagan years either because we have become a world economy and communications are instant with the web.

    You are on another planet.

Plus you have a tough time with MATH. Nancy Pelosi did not need 1 single vote from Republicans
to get this passed. 90 plus Dems voted NAY. She needed 13 more votes to pass the legislation.
That 90 plus number represents 40% of all Dems in the house and you want to blame Republicans who are in the minority as well as a majority of that minority who think the bill is lacking.

This disaster belongs to Sen Dodd, Sen Schumer, Sen Obama , Sen Reid , Rep Pelosie, and Rep Barney Frank. Dodd and Frank should both resign.

    Lee J,
Pull your head out of your kool-aid bowl. Breath some fresh air, you dolt. 90 Democrat and 134 Republicans voted against this. Get a clue!

This bill was worse than the disease it was trying to cure.

The Dems could have passed this, but if they had, this would be climbing out on a limb all by themselves. They lack the fortitude to do this.

Well this disease is about to put us in a depression if a cure is not found. If we would of saved Lehman Bro’s these domino’s would not be falling as bad as they are. If we don’t save many of these homeowners. The value of everyone’s home will fall to the point that many will abandon their homes as happened in texas during the savings and loan crisis. It took texas 15 years to recover from that and home values in Texas are still low compared to many parts of the country. And the dow is down almost 800 points at close dropping almost 300 points in the last minutes. If you all think it is going to get better by doing nothing well we will all suffer the dire consequences.

And don’t forget the republicans were the ones that come late to the party in realizing this crisis. How many times did baby Bush and McCain kept saying the economy is not in a recession??? Saying the economy is fundamentally fine until just a few weeks ago.
