Too Conservative Still Off The Air
Author | joe | Posted on | September 30, 2008 | 21 Comments
I have to note that the home base of some of our favorite bloggers-in-arms (and commenters), Too Conservative, is still offline.
As revealed in the comments at Hoodathunk, TC went over their bandwidth usage limit and got unceremoniously shut down. Also read there our good friend BlackOut exercising his magical powers of healing and brotherly love.
Back when NVTH was in its infancy, TC was our evil aunt, our death-dealing midwife. But long story short, we all became best friends.
Here’s to hoping LI and company get themselves a new host soon. I know from experience that is a royal pain in the you know what, so my sympathies. If any of you TC contributors are itching to blog send me a note and I will give you a temporary login here. (LI I have lost your e-mail address).
Loudoun County, and I know the LCRC, are waiting with bated breath for your return to action.

Joe, we may disagree on the little things, but at the heart of it…we all care about Loudoun.
If we quibble occasionally on how to get there, that’s normal. Right??
September 30th, 2008 @ 10:43 pm
Thanks for caring, Joe! I though it would be back up by now, as does Vincent, I believe. I’m not sure what the holdup is, but it looks like much of the TC Posse has been playing over here. I must say the break has done me some good, allowing me to catch up on the rest of my life. I have had so many emails about this.
There’s a lot to talk about and I’ll be back at it as soon as the kinks are worked out. One suggestion for NVTH – help us keep up the pressure on the damned school board and their inevitable pickpocketing maneuvers as budget season draws closer. A true revolution is needed there.
My email is in the form – send me one, I know you changed yours recently – I’m not sure I have the right one.

I imagine the forced break has had its advantages, glad to hear that.
Yeah, Sir B. Dover has been around. Is there a second annual bash in the works?
September 30th, 2008 @ 11:12 pm
We must organize one, and soon.
DPM is throwing a Steve Snow farewell party soon (seriously!) – maybe we can crash the party!
On another note – if you haven’t been to Virginia Virtucon lately go see the absolutely ridiculous video that’s up of seemingly brainwashed children singing for Obama accompanied by perfectly formed liberal parents on piano, flute, and drum circle bongos. It’s bloody awful!

Steve Snow….moving to the Denver Area.
Not quite Canada, now is it??
October 1st, 2008 @ 8:56 am
I think Hatrick pulled some strings with the hosting service.
I do miss TC.

Mark Levin played the whole thing on the radio last night. The only thing missing was a poster of Chairman Mao.
I too miss TC, let us know when you pay the light bill.

The bill was paid for the whole year! They simply decided to change the terms mid-year and attempt to extort Vincent. It should be back up today from what I’ve been told.

I thought you suspended your blog until the economy was fixed, LI.
Looking forward to it being back up soon!

Come on Stone, it’s a bunch of weird hippie/Volvo moms from California, and you’re already invoking Chairman Mao. Don’t be a drama queen, man!
October 1st, 2008 @ 5:07 pm
RD, It’s more than a bunch of hippie moms, it is a concerted effort to portray Obama – through children no less – as THE ONE. It is sick. You laugh but it is dangerous to teach children this type of blind worship, it leads them to make ignorant assumptions of all types of people. Further, with this type of “training” children can be manipulated and abused throughout their lives.
I don’t take this lightly at all.

Cathymac–
Whatever happened to conservatives letting parents teach their children however they want? Aren’t you guys into homeschooling and so on?
October 1st, 2008 @ 6:24 pm
You don’t get it RD. I don’t care where a child is educated. I also take issue with your assessment that Conservatives who homeschool are doing so to teach their children to worship a man (politician no less) as a savior.
Do you even know any homeschooling families? Because if you did you would realize the “Obama our savior” songs are exactly the reason they keep their kids at home.

Cathymac–
Well, there was that giant cardboard cut-out of GWB in Jesus Camp. And back in 2003 National Review was giving away bronze busts of George W. Bush as prizes, but I digress.
Straw man, I never said that you *do* do things like that. But even if you did, I wouldn’t go berzerk. I’d say “weird parents”, not, OMG TEH FASCISM!
I went to Appomattox, Dinwiddie, and Chesterfield County Public Schools, and later VCU. Sixteen years in the public education system, and I never sang songs to political candidates, ever, so I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
October 1st, 2008 @ 6:31 pm
But if you really have a problem with those parents, call child protective services up in Venice, CA, and try to make a case (I think you’ll be laughed at, but try if you want). The Obama campaign did not approve that message.

RD
As usual you don’t get it.
If you are cool with the cult of personality then that is OK. Most rational Americans are not.
talking this issue with you is a waste. You are the guy who told me on more than one occassion that Obama is a mainstream Democrat.
You said that of course not to convince me, but yourself.Your party has selected a far leftist and you must now defend him by painting a him as a centrists.
Simply review the cadre of leftists he has used or associated with in a meaningful way on his journey up the political ladder.
This guy is far left, naive and worse than all of that amazingly cluless on issues pertaing to economics.
Those who support this man are simply cluless.
October 2nd, 2008 @ 9:26 am
RD, I don’t condone anything you posted, so yes, you do digress. Obama posted the “Children sing for their Leader” video on his website. I am not sure how much more he could approve it.
Why would you advocate calling CA parents over this video and complaining? Are you a serious man or a shoot from the hip (or lip) responder? Congrats on making it through public education without raising your arm in salute to a Politician or “Dear Leader”, that my kids make it out the same is in question.

“The only thing missing was a poster of Chairman Mao.”
G- my thought too when I saw this on the news. I told the Mrs. “where’s the Little Red Books?”.
October 2nd, 2008 @ 4:43 pm
Leftists love using children as a propaganda tool.
Whether an organized song by cute little smartly dressed darlings , photos on the front page of the Washington Post of a little Mexican girl with the American flag and ice cream cone below a caption that reads, Please don’t deport my mommy, children are used to promote an agenda.
Children make good props.
Locally one of our Elected Supervisors, Stevens Miller, told the story a couple of weeks ago of a little lost girl he saw at a mall. As the story went the little girl was the daughter of illegals and trembling in fear at the prospect of anyone calling the police. All of this done to illustrate a very weak argument against doing anything to combat illegal migrants.
Again whether fact or fiction Children make good props.

RichmondDem,
It appears that since you are an educator, you are definitely part of the problem!
