Brokaw: “Do you think that health care is a priveledge, a right or a responsibility?”
McCain: “It’s a responsibility.” Maybe.
Obama: “It’s a right.”
Really? It’s in the Constitution? They call what you want an entitlement, Barry and that is NOT in the Constitution! When elected officials and others in the government-especially the president-lay their hand on that Bible (in your case Chairman Mao’s Red Book) and swear to “uphold the Constitution”; it does not mean circumvent with entitlements.
I have been alive for most all of the Cold War. A generation exists that has no understanding of what socialism is or does to a populace. It has infected our system slowly and, like a cancer, continues to fester out of control. The legislative branch of our government is just about terminal. The Executive branch is very close and the Judicial branch is teetering. Time and again it has been proven that once you allow your freedoms to be eliminated, it takes a hard-fought uphill battle and a great length of time to get SOME of them back. Do you really think the Russians are happy with their lives? The old USSR is not dead. Do you really believe that all Germans loved Hitler and what he had done to their country? Do you people who think that Osama-bama is the next Messiah really believe that he will deliver what he promises? If so, what do you think that YOU will have to give up and sacrafice? At what point will you begin to fight back? When he dictates the car you drive; the school your children go to; the curiculum they are forced to learn and ingest; the type of house and its size; etc. How about “community service”? He wants to double the Peace Corps. What he might really intend is to MANDATE community service, where dictated, for all.
This campaign, in any sense of the imagination, is not a joke. This philosophy is DANGEROUS to a democracy. You can say later you made a mistake but you know what they say about hindsight. Don’t be selfish and don’t be conned. Think of the U.S. as a whole and tell this guy NO OBAMA!!!

Actually, I agree with O’Bama that health care IS a right.
Where he and I differ is that it is a government obligation to provide us with health care. You will never hear O’Bama argue that the Second Amendment requires the government to provide us all with high-quality firearms. Nor will you hear him say that the First Amendment obligates the government to provide us all with printing presses.
The assumption that health care is a RIGHT actually works AGAINST those who want socialized health care. Since there are limited resources, rationing MUST happen. Currently, that is done by insurance and one’s ability to pay for the services. In a socialized systems such as those in the U.K. and Canada, the government rations the health care services. But if health care is a RIGHT, the government cannot restrict one’s access to it, and rationing would be unconstitutional.

You’re picky with the word “right”. I think you are thinking a little farther and clearer then what I belive to be Obama’s true intent of a “right”. I believe, as stated, that he would make it an entitlement. Besides, entitlements are againest the constitution yet they exist. So if it is unconstitutional, well, how have things changed any, hum?

I must also take issue with this. The authors of the Bill of Rights feared just such logic as this: “If it’s not in the Constitution, it’s not a right.” Wrong.
That’s why they added the Ninth Amendment:

What Obama is outlining, is not health care, it is more entitlements. I believe the right that jack discusses is the natural right of self determination free from government intervention, which has always been one of our bedrock principles guaranteed by the Constitution.

I’m sorry - but this is a surprise? That’s where we’re headed - where healthcare is a right, where a nice house is a right, where food, clothing, electricity, water and a grande latte in the morning is a right. And day-care, pre-school, orthodontia, a college education for your 7 children are rights. Also, an Ipod is a right, Internet access is a right (how else would you get on Facebook?, and some nice shoes are a right. And getting your hair done, that’s a right, too — right?
This view of “rights” is that the government should provide them, not protect your right to get them on your own. So, if you don’t care to actually work for any of this, well, since these are “rights”, it’s the responsibility of the government to give it to you.
The only thing you have to do is relax, and lie back, and let the cold, flabby arms of government embrace you. And if you don’t want it, no worries, just lie back, and let the cold, flabby arms embrace you — that feeling of suffocation will soon pass …

To be fair I must totally agree with you. ALL races will do the same. This is an issue with me because I feel an uninformed voter is the most dangerous type. Their “reasons” for vote casting are very suspect.
With that said, I find that this is something that the liberals exploit for very selfish reasons. It would be better to “educate” all voters with the truth but the liberals must:
-lie and deceive in advertising and public speaking
-lie in the media
-falsify voter documentation
-register children, the mentally handicapped, felons, the dead (I don’t believe they have gotten to TRUE extraterrestrials yet)
The only reason for these acts would be to win a position because if the truth were spoken, the socialistic ideology would fail on its own merit and that utopian society would never come into existence. Why can’t liberals learn to tell the truth and win or lose by their positions? Do you agree with this assessment? (I already know your pat party answer. This is considered a redundant question).

Similarly, that is why Биден and the other Senate Socialists put the time-table for surrender in with the troop funding — because they knew it would lose on its own. Then they say that McCain also voted against funding the troops. Liars all.
