Zogby – It’s Far From Being Over

Per John Zogby, It isn’t over till it’s over..

Pollster: Don’t believe the Dem hype

The presidential race is still too close to call and could come down to the very last weekend before voters decide if they like or distrust Barack Obama, a national pollster predicts.

“I don’t think Obama has closed the deal yet,” pollster John Zogby told the Herald yesterday.

Zogby’s latest poll, released yesterday in conjunction with C-Span and Reuters, shows Obama and John McCain in a statistical dead heat, with the Illinois Democrat up 48-45 percent.

Zogby said the race mirrors the 1980 election, when voters didn’t embrace Ronald Reagan over then-President Jimmy Carter until just days before the election.

True. But it’s not looking good for McCain. And Reagan won, by the way.

    “Don’t believe the Dem hype”

Zimzo just confirmed the point of my post better than I ever could hope to.

  3. zimzo says:

Uh, I confirmed the point of your post because I basically agreed with it. Duh!

  4. jack says:

    We are in violent agreement!

  5. ACTivist says:

Isn’t nice when we can all get along?

  6. jacob says:

McCain is toast. With the market down another 600 points today, he is done. Put a fork in him. Only thing that MIGHT save him is Osama bin Laden’s head on a stick.

  7. ACTivist says:

    Jacob,

Know up front that I love ya. Now, stop your whinning! McCain/Palin just had a rally in Wisconsin and after a spouting by someone in the audience, he actually started naming names for the cause of our crunch. Named names!!!! There is still hope for the old guy.

  8. G. Stone says:

With the economy in the crapper the Pope of hope is up a whooping 2 to 4 points
    Nobody wants this guy.
With the anchors of bush and the economy this guy still can’t get this done.

It ain’t over by any stretch. McCain will end up beating this socialist.

I used to like Zogby. I liked him around 8pm on election night ‘04 when he called it for Kerry.

has anyone been watching fivethirtyfour.com? this guy compiles all the state polls, weights them based on their power, and puts them into an election simulation that he runs 10,000 times and then puts the results up. It’s pretty sweet, even if you don’t like the outcome. ;)

  10. Stay Puft Marshmallow Man says:

    ahem, that’s fivethirtyeight.com :)

  11. Cathymac says:

JAcob, I agree with ACT, there is still 27 days to go in this election – why would anyone give up now when the rope is just starting to unravel?

I am more hopeful this week than last. There is slight movement in the polls and people are beginning to doubt BO’s judgement – bit by bit this COULD crumble in our direction.

    STAY STRONG!

  12. zimzo says:

“Rope is beginning to unravel”? Is this a reference to lynching, Cathymac?

  13. And that is the key, Cathy. Showing them that the image and the man do not match. Obama is a mighty image, but when it comes down to pressure, more news will eventually walk around the curtain and see the real mortal man standing there. Wet AND green behind those huge ears.

  14. Only you could not keep your mind out of the gutter, zim
Kinda like Clay What’shisname from Louisiana.
The mere mention that Raines (a black man) had screwed the taxpayers trust when it was proven that he had broken the law, made the man erupt with a “lynching” reference.
It’s so sad that grown adults cannot see what is right in front of them.

  15. Cathymac says:

Zimzo, you are ridiculous and sick – do you even realize this?

“Rope is beginning to unravel”? Is this a reference to lynching, Cathymac?

Let me be the first to say, your an idiot.

  17. Kevin says:

I didn’t take “rope starting to unravel” to have anything to do with lynching but I am curious as to what it does mean. If he keeps rising in the polls how does that equate to rope unraveling? Or did you mean McCain’s rope is ONLY starting to unravel, as in, there’s still more time?

  18. jack says:

Greg, you are not the first to say it. We have long known that zimzo is an idiot. (It goes with being a liberal.)

The more people know about how the leftists in congress stopped McCain from heading this off in 2005, and how O’Bama has been taking payoffs from Fannie Mae, the more this will break to McCain.

  19. zimzo says:

    G. Stone says, “Your [sic] an idiot.” Priceless.

Kevin, I don’t know what Cathymac meant either so I assumed it must have something to do with lynching, though perhaps not consciously. I’m afraid Cathymac just doesn’t realize why the image of a rope came into her head when she thought of Obama, which is why her comment didn’t make much sense until I explained it.

  20. Kevin says:

Well, it sure is tough to tell but I think she meant McCain is only now starting to unravel and that there are still twenty something days before the election, so he might win if he can get to Nov 4 before that last thread breaks.

  21. jacob says:

    kevin,
zimzo damn well knows what she meant. The guy is deliberately trying to slander. He is just that kind of guy.

  22. What the dems are desperate to not have known is that they are the root cause of the poor economy, that they caused this slowdown, and that they are the reason the depression lasted so long. If people find out the truth, the dems will loose big time.

  23. Jack says:

Aside from being an idiot, zimzo is a scumbag, too.

  24. Jack says:

That, Brian, is why the leftists scream “racist!” whenever one criticizes Raines or Sen. O’Bama, and that is why they scream “homophobe!” whenever someone criticizes Rep. Frank.

    They cannot handle the truth.

  25. G. Stone says:

I’m afraid Cathymac just doesn’t realize why the image of a rope came into her head when she thought of Obama, which is why her comment didn’t make much sense until I explained it.

    Translation:

I Zimzo had too tell her what she really meant but was too dim too realize.

Everyone please join me, Zimzo your a bigger idiot than you were yesterday.

  26. zimzo says:

“Your [sic] a bigger idiot” G. Stone thanks for giving me another laugh.

Here’s a picture of G. Stone if anyone wonders what he looks like:

  27. Jack says:

The poster is about Jim Moran, our congresscritter from Alexandria, and his brother Brian Moran, the Virginia House Democratic Caucus Chairman and candidate for governor.

  28. Cathymac says:

Zimzo, I found a picture of you, you are pretty famous:

  29. Linda B says:

Maybe that guy was referring to VA Dems Jim and Brian Moran. They need a brain. Even if they shared one, it would be an improvement.

yes, he is certainly an unbiased observer..

  31. ACTivist says:

    zimzo,

That’s a picture of me. What you don’t see is the concealed weapon in my back waistband.

  32. Stay Puft Marshmallow Man says:

he’s using a weighted average of all the big state level polls to run an election simulation. I’d say his methodology is a lot more solid than the one that’s been used thus far in this thread, which is to find the one random poll that’s got the two candidates in a dead heat and say, “THAT one got it right!”
