That's because the U.S. has promoted democracy around the world and people around the world are able to hold peaceful elections. Last night, we learned what happens when we aren't vigilant and hold the media and our government representatives to account: we get a President who has policies that are actually detrimental to the people he's supposed to protect, and a number of citizens who aren't honest enough to admit it. Tariq, I’m not sure where you’re getting your information, but this is not the only place in the world where this can happen.
