People talk about values. The values that have motivated me throughout my entire life as a liberal voter are grounded in the knowledge that I stand WITH, not over, the people who work and raise their kids and struggle to earn a paycheck and also, by the way, make this nation great.
Oh, sure: You can weigh the party platforms or ideologies of the day, building charts full of statistics, calling meetings, hiring experts, arguing different points of view, parsing position papers and, basically, doing all of the things that have gotten this country into the mess we are currently experiencing. That’s called the politics of the past – and THE PEOPLE are sick of it.
They are sick of the talk, sick of the infighting, sick of the backstabbing and politics of personal destruction. What the people are looking for is not the officially sanctioned “information” and “data” but the things that don’t lend themselves quite so readily to debate and statistical analysis: Things like honesty, and compassion, and clarity, and understanding.
And sometimes, the people know what is best.
The video I am about to show you was compiled as part of an upcoming study of the impact of the media on the 2008 election.
The people who commissioned the study seem to have thought they were uncovering some type of scandal but, quite the contrary, they have unwittingly unveiled the glorious reality of the sheer purity of heart that has changed our nation.
If you are anything like me, you will be moved by it … and I have to admit that after watching it three times through my heart still sings and my eyes well up each time as I watch and listen to these beautiful, forthright, focused people who I am so, so proud to stand with during this historic time.
These are my “great Americans,” who have done the impossible by overcoming the noise machine and delivering Barack Obama to the presidency. God bless them for their hearts filled with purity rather than malice. Now that they have been politically awakened, they control the future direction of our nation for generations to come, and America is well and truly fixed because of them. God bless the United States of America: now, finally, a government of the people!
Enjoy! (And have some tissues handy.)

You are joking, right? Did you miss the point of the interviews which is the role the media played in skewing public opinion? If you are being serious here you have some problems. This is a scandal, there is nothing remotely glorious about it.
Ok, I am convinced either you are joking, or you are the biggest jackass writing on a blog.
Joe, Does your wife know that you are using drugs?
I can’t watch the video, but the media has controlled the elections for some time.
After the 2006 elections, Merv Griffin said, “Our government was over-thrown, this election was media fueled.”
True, fair and honest journalism is dead, but millions do not know it.
Frank,
basically, joe flipped out when obama won and has apparently decided to devote his efforts to lampooning the American political process
…also, he was convinced that the obama admin. would shut down his blog, so i imagine he’s hoping to score some brownie points, or at least confuse the men in black.
not that I should be speaking for joe, but i’m guessing you’d have a hard time getting a straight answer out of him!
What does it say for the conscience of our nation when a post celebrating WE THE PEOPLE evokes nothing but ridicule and snark?
Now I know how President-elect Obama must feel: No matter how positive your message, there will always be a few folks imposing the negative spin.
Ah the cynicism I must endure. But I pledge to our readers, I will shoulder the burden with grace as long as my spirit will allow; I will continue to speak the truth while I have breath; and I will attempt in all of my writings to live up to the honor of this venerable medium.
Had Enough,
If your Internet connection is too slow for video you have my sympathy. This one is priceless. These people have never even heard of Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid, they believe the Republicans control Congress, they think McCain is the one who claimed to campaign in 57 states, and that is just for starters. But they all, every one, know every syllable of the Sarah Palin caricatures. You need to watch the video if you ever get the chance. The media are a disgrace.
Oh by the way, Puft, we were talking about you the other night. It was generally agreed you are one of the good guys.
El Jefe may be looking at Ann Arbor for post doc work after next summer. I told him you would be able to provide a boots on the ground perspective on campus life, brewpubs, local shooting ranges, etc.
“joe flipped out when obama won…” Actually, Joe flipped out before Obama won, when he discovered that Obama’s name has 18 letters, which is 3×6 and three sixes or 666 which is the sign of the antichrist. Now Joe has just shifted to a new level of craziness and is following Revelations 3:19 which says, “If the beast attaineth high office deceiveth him with sarcasm, lest he know your true intent.”
Yes, the media did its job all right.
The American people have proved they are in the dark and the radicals of the world are gloating.
The liberals are happy that they have pulled the wool over Americans eyes.
But mainly it’s a sad state when SNL impresses an absurd answer that is heard around the world and that’s all people have heard.
What’s unjust in all the Obama speeches is that none of his Speeches has any detail as to what he intends to put forth and how he is going to do it. Talk about voting blind, deaf and uninformed.
BTW:
Have any of you thought about HAVING the Fairtax implemented?
If not check into
http://Www.fairtax.org
Actually, zimzo, that 666 thing was used by the left on Ronald Wilson Reagan.
Good one Joe! The video and poll are incredible.
The sarcasm. It’s boring.
Removing you from my aggregator. I can see poverty of thought elsewhere that at least is entertaining.
I agree Edmund. It was funny at first, but it’s getting old.

WTF? Did I discover this blog during a pillow fight? Who are being chased off – liberals or conservatives?
My fellow liberals are leaving me!
Is that ironic or what, because our readers know that, over the years, I have done nothing if not attempt to ensure every thing I write is pleasing to liberal sensibilities. I have bent over backwards never to offend anyone.
So you can bet these nasty swipes are going to make a HUGE difference in the tone and content of this blog.
Listen, I don’t do this for myself, people. The LAST thing I am attempting to do here is satisfy my own entertainment needs. This is all about our readers – even though it slay me and take me away from my family and friends I will labor here bearing the burden of tedium and wearing my inner constitution down to DUST, just to know I am providing exactly what other people, and particularly liberals, enjoy reading. That is just the way I operate.
I have a new topic, why not plan a holiday get together at a local establishment? That way if Joe keeps this up we can beat him up in a dark alley. I suspect his liberal friends will save him, but at least we could enjoy an adult beverage before this all goes down.
That sounds like an outstanding proposal, Cathy. It will prove to all of the peevish liberals, on behalf of whom I must say I am slightly ashamed, that liberals such as me and conservatives such as you can find common ground.
Let’s be thinking of some appropriate neutral territory.

Dominion Brew Pub is Gone. Boo.
“The sarcasm. It’s boring.”
Boring or cutting close to the bone ? I too would want to leave if it was discovered that I had aligned myself with 40% of the dumbest people on the planet. 9% had a vested interest in leftist rule while the remaining 2% discovered that dinner party liberalism is pretty cool.
Yes you can !
O’Faolains Pub is my suggestion. It is a LCDC favorite, they have held several election night celebrations there. I frequent it myself, however I do not disclose that I am a conservative, as I like good service.
“O’Faolains Pub is my suggestion. It is a LCDC favorite…. ”
Good we can run a $1000 bar tab and when its time to pay have them send the bill to Obama.
Hey, he said it was time to spread the wealth around. I heard that !
[...] « How WE THE PEOPLE Elected Barack Obama [...]
AHA! Show up as your favorite Liberal and put the bill under “Hope and Change.” The staff will know what to do with it, right?
O’Faolins was the Help Save Loudoun hangout – great place. The bar is extremely loud after about 9:30 because they turn up the music volume but we could go earlier or just sit in the dining room. I would definitely be into going there.
Poll your peeps on a date, Joe.
And yes, after 9:30 it is loud and it is always smokey – but they know how to pour a mighty fine Guinness and will stamp a shamrock in the foam!
That seemed like a very educational clip-NOT! It was doctored, for one, and the voters don’t always know those in congress. I know people that only vote for president on their ballots so what are you trying to prove here? Not all of those statements said were ever available to the voters. Then you talk about drinking. This wasn’t a very funny joke. Can’t you post better than this?
Given it is an Irish pub, I will dress up as Chris Matthews. We can toast is Boss the old socialist Tip O’Neil, while our legs get all tingly.

Does your mother know your using the computer ?
G. Stone,
You must take me for a giddy little school girl. As with most bloggers here, your insightfullness and intuition seem to constantly be letting you down. No wonder I can’t find anything with facts here. It’s all speculation.
More and more of real life Obama cronies-I just love it. That film fits well under the post “Too Dumb To Vote”. Seems more and more like an election of color of skin than anything else. 2012 ought to be a real side-splitter!
Stoner,
Don’t be too hard on the B. She can’t help who she is and it seems that she is very embarrassed by it.
That video was too sad for words.
Pea does not realize that pinning everything on Bush was a slick marketing move, that the congress is the entity that adopts all of our laws, approves all of our wars, ends our wars, investigates Freddie and Fannie, etc. (not the President, who is an executive.) So, blaming the financial melt down, the war, everything on Bush was brilliant marketing on the part of Obama, relying on an ignorant constituency who would not know the difference. Not understanding that the current Congress is a democratic majority congress, and that the democrats have had full control the last two years, and a near even split before that (meaning anything that got done needed bi partisan support) is, well, pea brained. McCain took public financing and had no money to counter the lies, and with the media stoking the “evil Bush did it all” message, we got what the video shows: the public did not have a clue who caused our mess, who did what to help, or if they are getting “change” or just accelerated more of the corrupt overspending disregard for the Treasury or taxpayers “same” (I would argue the latter.)
