Joe,

Evidently you have not been down to the mall recently. They HAVE opened up a new restaurant where Pepe"s use to be. It's called "El Ta-Ta's".

NoVisa,

Don't let Joe fool you. He's too maucho to be dainty. He buys a bottle of wine at a time and measures glasses by the chug. Nothing dainty or innocent about him.

Oh, don't kid yourself, I am by nature an uncontrollable beer drinker, but mortality dictated I switch to wine about 8 years ago. Digestive issues. So my modus operandi became cabernet with a side of club soda. On any given evening you can expect to see me with a dainty glass in hand. Word.

Five hours is kids' stuff for me. A good bar is a place to live in.

What SIZE glasses?

Why would I have thought that you're a beer drinker?

Trying to picture you hanging out in a bar with a dainty wineglass in hand just doesn't fit my image of you.

Five glasses of wine over five hours, well within my range of metabolization.

I forgot all about "Raljon" and the Laurel MD situation, H.E., thank you for the history lesson. I always thought of JKC as a good guy, despite hating his football team. When he hired Norv Turner my feelings about the Redskins changed, I must say. Although my feelings about the fans generally did not.

Like tonight at the bar: OK, I am wearing a Tony Romo jersey, mainly so I will stand out so the NVTH folks can find me, but also to be a dickhead, to be perfectly honest. It's just my way.

But what do you know about midnight as I am up at the bar minding my own business ordering another round some guy starts giving me sh-t about "so has Romo been to jail yet?" the implication being all Dallas Cowboys are criminals. We eventually agreed only Pacman and Tank Johnson on the current team have had prominent brushes with the law, but my feelings were hurt. So I still have trouble warming up to the Skins.

Actually the stadium was named after both sons, not just the deceased son. It was called Raljon, after Ralph and John. Ralph died less than two years before his father.

After Jack died, his surviving son John changed the stadium name to his fathers name. Then after Snyder bought it he leased the rights to Fed-Ex

One of jacks ex-wives claims that he was also her daughters father, but it was never proven.

I heard that John Cooke moved out of the country after he lost the stadium and a few ago ago he moved back to the area.

Joe,

My apologies to Snyder about the location. What happened to Jack Kent Cooke's son after he was given his share of the sale to Snyder?

Then there's the story about JKC's one and only child?

It's a tough life for those up in the stratosphere.

Cooke bought many acres of Land in Laurel near the racetrack to build his stadium and parking lot prior to the Landover location, he presumed that he could do anything that he desired there. Well, Laurel ran him out of town and his estate has never been able to unload the land to this day because he paid about four times the value of what it was actually worth.

Cooke named his new stadium after his deceased son believing it would stay that way. Synder changed that fast to accept the millions from fed-Ex each year.

Lovisa,

You can't blame the location of the stadium on Dan Snyder. Jack Kent Cooke built it in MD because the mayor of DC at the time, Sharon Pratt Whatshername, thought she held all the bargaining chips and it turned out she didn't. Cooke truly wanted the stadium in the city.

Snyder got the stadium as part of the deal when he bought the team. Despite the terrible location and traffic, I imagine there is no way in hell the Redskins are getting another new stadium for decades.

Dan, Dittos on the Hooters. It is the shame of Loudoun County that we don't have one yet in Sterling. Personally, I think it would transform the town if we could get a Hooters where Pepes used to be, but I am told the owner of Sterling Shopping Center is a moron so I won't get my hopes up.

Don't forget that by definition the season gets harder as it progresses because everybody is studying everybody else's film. The Skins and Cowboys both are no better than mid-level to upper third teams (Skins because of lack of talent and Boys because of poor coaching) and they can no longer fool anyone. Or, you could say they have not improved along with the competition.

I do not think it is time to give up on Jason Campbell yet. He's on his third offense already, right? The team needs more time to gel. Losing Chris Samuels means that is unlikely to happen this year.

Snyder is a schmuck. Just out to make more and more money. Redskin Park (sorry FedEx) is the most expensive arena in the NFL. Do you really think he "loves" Washington? If he did, he would have put his arena in DC, don't you think? He suffers from severe "I" desease IMO.

Lesson learned from the Sunday night fiasco in Baltimore: Dan Snyder should spend more time on building a winning team and less time on the building of a monument in Loudoun County to the past successes of a guy named Jack Kent Cooke.
