Ken Cuccinelli Nomination Speech For Bob Marshall

In case you have not made up your mind about going to Richmond on May 30 to vote for Ken Cuccinelli for Virginia Attorney General at the 2009 Virginia Republican Convention, for which I will literally drive you to the Convention to vote, here is a video I just dug up from the highly disorganized Budzinski video library. I thought it was a pretty good speech.

The video is a bit amateurish, and I must admit I shot it myself, and if you want me to be videographer for your wedding I would promise to ensure a little of the bride and groom would actually appear, but I think it conveys why Ken Cuccinelli is such an outstanding candidate. He is a guy we will work for, and he is a Republican who can win in Virginia.

I’ll say it here, and I’ve said it everywhere else…
The Dems are sending Steve Shannon. He is an accomplished prosecutor in his own right.
If you want to actually have a vote that will count on Election Day — you’d better put up the sitting USA for the Western District of the Commonwealth…
The consequences is sitting outside the AG’s office complaining because a Republican with values didn’t win the race in the general election.
John Brownlee is the only way you win that race.

If Cooch wins the nomination, and Shannon cruises right over him to take the AG’s office…I’ll be back to tell you all that I told you so today.

Please answer the following two questions:
1. has Brownlee has never run as a Republican. Has anyone EVER won the VA-AG office with NO political experience?
2. aside from getting his job via daddy’s pulling strings at the Bush Whitehouse to get him the AG job in Roanoke what has Brownlee himself done?

Republicans really have three pretty good choices here. I only wish that Sen. Cuccinelli got the same respect from all quarters of our party that I and others afford Brownlee and Foster. This tearing down of Sen. Cuccinelli by some Republicans who for whatever reason needs to cease. You can’t have it both ways.

I have met both men. Both men are solid conservatives and would serve us well if elected. I have some issues with Mr Foster regarding the second amendment and therefore believe he of the three candidates has the toughest road among party activists in a primary. Having said that,I would do my part to educate and enlighten him if he were to win the nomination. I would further support both in the general election if they were to win the primary.

I don’t suspect it will come to that. It is my hope that Sen Cuccinelli wins the primary and moves on to defeat his Democrat opponent in the general election.

Sen. Cuccinelli has a track record. A record that quite frankly should be admired by anyone who calls them self a conservative. Ken C is about as solid as you can get on the issues that matter to Voters. Whether it is the economy, property rights, civil rights to include our second amendment rights, legal issues pertaining to mental health or a long list of other issues Sen Cuccinelli has been engaged and has the record to prove it.
The real appeal of Sen. Cuccinelli is that he can win in Northern Virginia with independent and cross over Democrats. He has already done it
and will do it again.

The other night at the AG debate, Ken in his closing remarks showed us why he is the best candidate. Ken understands where Republicans went wrong in recent elections and can convey that message in way that resonates with voters, Republicans, independents and those democrats who now have a case of buyers remorse.

Sen. Cuccinelli gets it !

It is time for those who profess to be Republicans to support the candidate of their choice with vigor, while at the same time refrain from gratuitously slamming their primary opposition. We have some good candidates here folks lets not do our oppositions work for them. There are times when going after a primary opponent. This is not one of them. Now if Arlen Specter was running, I would say have it. But he is not so let’s just be happy we have a group of conservatives willing to serve.

I hate it when my vote doesn’t count because I picked the wrong candidate to win the party seat. Like Stone says, “refrain from gratuitously slamming their primary opposition”. Monk, you need to back away from this “party win” mentality. I want the best candidate with the most heart and drive that is aligned with my way of thinking to win. You were probably ecstatic about the last GOP congress resting control away from the Dems. Well, look how THAT turned out. Why? Too many RINOs and greedy politicians. I need more substance than that. And if you do come back after the nomination and try to rub my “losing” vote in my face well, I would just suggest that you change sides for the good of your hollow, liberal tendencies.

Since VCDL PAC has endorsed Senator Cuccinelli’s bid for the
Republican nomination as Virginia’s Attorney General it incumbent upon
us to do everything we can to support his efforts just as he has
supported our rights during his tenure in the Senate.

If you live in Henrico County please go to the link in the below email
and register as a delegate to the Republican convention immediately –
they will even come to your home and pick up the forms. I also
strongly encourage every Virginia resident to also go to the link and
verify the deadline for form submission in your county.

Brownlee has personally reached into his pocket a great deal deeper than Cooch ever has. Does Cooch re-gift funds? Sure he does. But does he reach into his own pocket and give? Not to the tune that Brownlee has.
But that wasn’t enough. You and your ilk had to go and throw the fact that Brownlee wasn’t a Republican in his local Committee thruout the years his service in the Army, although the law wouldn’t allow it.
In the end, it’ll be Shannon, who is a prosecutor with a fine reputation ….up against either a patent attorney….or the United States Attorney for the Western District of Va. The one office that makes his service as a mere prosecutor pale by comparison.

If you are trying to convince people to support Brownlee, you will not do it with condescension. Why don’t you just stick to what you think is good about him, instead of sneering about Cuccinelli “just” being a patent attorney, and insulting people who appreciate his views and his efforts. Cuccinelli is an excellent legislator, very smart, principled man. We need people like him in public office. So, please do not tear him down.

Some are afraid of rhetoric, and want to see lots of evidence of character. Me included. Mr. Cuccinelli has demonstrated principled character.

That said, I am very impressed with Brownlee, even though he is a newcomer to party politics. He is a lawyer’s lawyer, and a vet, and an attractive candidate for many reasons.

O.K. All you people advocating for Cuccinelli or Brownlee, listen up. This is old Wolverine venting, and old Wolverine is both tired and royally pissed. You see, he just spent the entire weekend roaming the streets in the wee hours of the morning trying to keep tabs on a bunch of damnable yo-yos who think its neat to wander around while the rest of the people sleep. Some of those yo-yos are sporting large tatoos. Get it?

On top of that, I am told once again that the 25-year-old guy who committed the Ironwood Road knifepoint rape in August 08 on a 75-year-old American woman is an ILLEGAL Honduran immigrant with FIVE PRIOR CONVICTIONS. He just got sentenced to life plus 53, so you and I are going to pay his bed and board for a long time. (Just too bad he wasn’t sentenced to another special room in the Virginia penal system.)

Yesterday, I got hit in the face with new charges levied against this illegal in an April 08 rape case that happened even closer to my digs than Ironwood Road. Rape; breaking and entering; abduction to defile; and forcible sodomy. At least that time, he had the good grace to select a younger victim. She is 51.

Each time I go out on patrol, I make sure to curse out the politicians behind it all. I curse out those bastards who like to play kissy-face with the illegals because it may mean votes and more political power down the line. I curse out those on the other side of the equation who give me nothing but empathetic words and never seem to know how to conduct an effective fight to relieve me of patroling my own streets like I was back in I Corps in Nam.
I’ve grown disgusted with and sick of the whole ratpack of them.

I don’t want another mouthpiece. I want a fighter. I want a guy in the AG office with the belly guts to tell the Bushes, the Obamas, the McCains, the Kaines, the Webbs, and the Warners to flat ass go to Hell and to be seen leading the charge to protect all the rest of us in Virginia. I want him out there and visible. I do not want a repeat of his taking office and seldom being heard from until he decides to run for governor.

So, all you advocates, you tell me. Will I get a genuine and visible fighter in either Cuccinelli or Brownlee? Or will I just get more of the same unhelpful crap? And Monk, you keep telling us that Brownlee was in the Army. Was he a fighter or was he just another one of those legal wonks in uniform who was part of the military justice system and pretended to be a warrior through osmosis with the real ones?

Look through my Cuccinelli links, Wolv. This is the main reason I support him. Most people do not know this but it was the Virginia Senate REPUBLICANS who created this illegal immigration mess here in the first place. It was under their watch that all of these loose laws and wink-wink approach to illegal hiring proliferated and were not fixed.

And if you want to narrow the blame further, you can place it squarely on the Virginia Senate Courts of Justice Committee Republicans, because it was in that committee that a slew of excellent bills, most of which passed the House of Delegates with veto-proof majorities, died. I won’t rehash here, but if you do a search on “Stolle” you can read what happened the past few years.

On that committee, Ken Cuccinelli was the only person who had a 100% perfect voting record on legislation related to curtailing illegal immigration. He was the lone angel in a pit of vipers. ANCIR gave the Senate a report card a couple years ago and Cuccinelli was the only person to earn a 100% grade on laws related to illegal aliens.

His stand on this issue is the main reason I am going to Richmond in May.

Oh, but I do…and I do….so that is why I didn’t. Not to be crude, 10 proof, but what you are is 25 pounds of shit stuffed into a 10 pound bag. You believe that you have a handle on all things political in the county and the state. You feel that a “winning vote” (by your understanding) is more important then a “quality vote” and that it is better to have an “R” after an office holders’ name then anything else. It is EXACTLY those type of hollow politics that gives us RINOs and Obamas. Your political savvy carries no weight with me. I don’t know what your aspirations are but if it’s “favors” thru the company you keep, you are the same crap which “regular,caring” people are trying to expel.

Tom, I do believe you just let your identity out of the bag.

Winning votes install candidates who then do things as officially elected officials.

Losing candidates go home and either shoot themselves, run again, or forget about public office. They do nothing to the process, because they lost the elected position. (See above)

There are plenty of folks running around that have an “R” behind their names , but should never have been called Republicans, including you. I believe you fit in much better with the NAMBLA Chapter with a Ron Paul fixation.

And who am I hanging around with that bothers you so much? I talk to people from a wide range of positions. All without their opinions poisoning mine. But I do get a great deal of information from a wide spectrum that actually keeps me very much more informed than the ignorant asses among us who refuse to speak to some for “fear” of their points of view.

My biggest query of you? You just have to explain how a candidate can act as the sitting AG when he loses the election and is left standing outside of the doors. Does he call in and try to suggest things to Mr. Shannon? What if Mr. Shannon hangs up on him?

In truth, Cooch is about to lose his district. He can either seek another office, or he can return to a normal life. Like any politician, he’s looking for the next swinging vine. That he won’t agree not to run against Bolling in the next Governor’s race after this?? Well, that closes another door, doesn’t it?

I know exactly where and what is going on. I’m blessed with an extremely large network of contacts in the County, and the State. I’ve been in attendance when and where initiatives came to pass, or were first suggested and pursued.
And there are several Loudoun bipartisan initiatives that I’m proud to have served on, and you will see rolled out in the next terms.

O.K., people! The brawls in the barracks are good for letting off steam, so long as we only need to call the corpsman to patch you up afterwards, not the medics at the field hospital. May I be so bold as to ask you all to look out the door of this damned hooch? The real bastards are out there — the ones laying the sharp, poisoned bamboo spikes on the trail; the ones readying the RPG to lay one on the passing river patrol boat; the ones positioning the mortar to add some real spice to your evening mess; the ones leveling a scope on the head of your second louie because he forgot to take off his bars before battle; the ones who always try to get the corporal carrying the field radio pack; and the ones who will count the downing of old sarge as a fabulous scalp to be flaunted far and wide. We can ruminate over what has happened in the legislature in the past. We can talk long and loud about legal qualifications and experience. We can go on forever about the best technical tactics for winning elections. But, let’s face it. At this moment, the enemy is holding much of the field. What we tried in the past didn’t work out for us. I mean, how can we even look each other in the eyes after that absolutely inept and dumbassed campaign by Gilmore in 2008? Shoot, we might as well have repacked the field kits and gone back to the landing craft. I cannot say anything about the McCain effort without going into words that will be censored by Joe.

So, we had one piddling AG debate in this county just recently. I still don’t see any fire and smoke. I mean, Joe had to go back and pull out a homemade video of Cuccinelli speaking on behalf of another candidate for another office. Where are the videos of Cuccinelli speaking loudly and with fire for himself on issues which are critical to us? When will I see the same with Brownlee of the Airborne firing effective salvos of his own at the common enemy?

Wolverine is personally ready for a fight. I want that fight loud and mean. It looks more and more to me like we have moved into an era of looney tunes at both the state and national levels. This fight has become more critical than anything else I’ve seen in my lifetime. Never under any president, Democrat or Republican, have I ever seen such fear over the loss of personal liberty as I have under this one.

So, please don’t tell me that we are going back to the old way of being afraid to speak our minds because the damned “crossover vote” might be offended. It’s those people in the “crossover vote”, not me and you, who need to have the unvarnished truth thrown in their faces so they can wake up to the fact that we are all in the same sinking boat together. Those bastards I follow in the streets don’t care about your ethnicity or your politics. Machete chops and bullets are not very selective.

Sorry, folks. If old Woverine has to go down, he now prefers to go down screaming defiance and hurling curses while trying to take a few of the bastards with him. He is long past swallowing defeat because somebody doesn’t want to hurt the feelings of the other side. To Hell with that namby-pamby crap. Hey, Joe, I didn’t say that the Cooch speech in and of itself was a bad one. I just want some of it here and now and I want it targeted with fire and brimstone to a wider audience. I do thank you, however, for your effort to inform. Now, when can I expect to hear the loud drumbeats and bugles from both the Cooch and the Brownlee camps…without having to peer around signs for the hapless Gilmore?

Haven’t eaten Wheaties for years. Right now I feel like I’m munching on shards of glass. During patrol on Sunday night, about midnight, I caught some idiot from Herndon redhanded dumping his trash on one of our community streets. He’s damned lucky I wasn’t carrying an RPG that night! The “partner” was so pissed at events that she made old Wolverine stay out on patrol over a hour after the planned closing time. Wolverine is darned tired tonight still, but he knows who to mess with and who not to mess with.
