Why All the Union People at Health Care Townhalls ?

This may be one reason :

Obamacare bails out union pension plans, too

Union bosses who have mismanaged benefits for their own members are poised to receive a $10 billion bailout from U.S. taxpayers in the form of a “reinsurance program” that has been folded into the healthcare bill, according to the Workforce Fairness Institute (WFI).
This provision should be viewed as part of a larger payback effort the Obama White House and top congressional figures have set up in exchange for the support they have received from organized labor, Katie Packer, executive director of WFI said.

“It was refreshing to hear a Rabbi offer the invocation”

    Should have also said :

but I was rather disturbed when he diverged from his prayer to talk about health care, as was many in attendance on both sides of this issue. A prayer is NOT an infomercial.

“You mentioned 800 families in the local area having gone bankrupt as a result of medical expenses.”

I would have liked to have been able to ask ‘how many of these could not pay their bills, versus would not ?”. Will you also be asking taxpayers to step in to resolve other reasons for bankruptcies as well ?

Add to that the fact that unions always support the expansion of government because a) they sign up government employees, and b) it fits their Marxist philosophy that wealth producers are the bad guys. I discovered what Jesus would do. See:

The Rabbi more than likely was acting on his conscience. Still, the rabbi did operate as a shill for one side of the debate. God is not on any side.

What really bothered me where the idiots who started yelling when the rabbi was stilling praying even if it had overt tones. Freedom of religion and speech needs to be respected, especially when it annoys you.

The townhall was a disappointment. I listened to Dean and Moran, I was hopinng to get on line and ask a question. This is the norm for events such as this. Instead, the questions where cherry picked out of a box. This is gutless. If you do not give the other side the podium at all, there only recourse is to shout you down.

    jacob,

Yes, the idiots screaming annoyed me as well, once the Rabbi got back on track, his prayer offering should have been respected.

There is something that is making the rounds on some liberal blogs stating that there were flyers left on cars with KKK symbolism, and Obama in a noose. But, those sites with scans of the flyer have chosen to remove the url of those responsible.

But, you can see it here :

If you hear talk of racist flyers at South Lakes, be sure to mention the source was a left winger..

    Interesting article by Newt Gingrich:

“And because the central planners who think they can provide government “competition” to the private health insurance market failed to accurately estimate how many government workers it would take to administer cash-for-clunkers, they had to take employees from the FAA – air traffic controllers, no less – to help manage the demand.”
