Can the left (particularly the Deeds campaign) get any lamer? They have dug up Bob McDonnell’s thesis from CBN (now Regent University) and discovered that he is, horror of horrors, a REAL REPUBLICAN.
[He] described working women and feminists as “detrimental” to the family.
Yeah, the statistics bear that out in the higher divorce rates for working women.
He said government policy should favor married couples over “cohabitators, homosexuals or fornicators.”
We call this philosophy “conservatism.”
He described as “illogical” a 1972 Supreme Court decision legalizing the use of contraception by unmarried couples.
In 1972, The Supremes were churning out illogical decisions like Scott was churning out toilet paper. It was a regular Renaissance in illogical decisions, harking back to that Golden Age of Illogical Decisions, the New Deal era when FDR threatened to stack the court if it did not rule his way.
During his 14 years in the General Assembly, McDonnell pursued at least 10 of the policy goals he laid out in that research paper, including abortion restrictions, covenant marriage, school vouchers and tax policies to favor his view of the traditional family.
Oh, damn, his actions actually follow his words. This is truly unheard of on the left. No wonder they have a problem with it.
Get a grip, Deeds. And get some issues.
