Reston Townhall Meeting

Author | Shiplap | Posted on | September 4, 2009 | 18 Comments

I witnessed this same officer rousting other protesters as well at the recent Moran townhall meeting. While I do not agree with representing the POTUS in this manner, I have to wonder where this guy and others like him were when Bush was similarly defamed.

Guess officer Cheeks is right, ‘it ain’t America no more’.

It is our duty to fix that…

Don’t know whether it makes any difference, butI want to point out that Mr Cheeks was NOT an employee of the Fairfax Police Dept. Evidently employed by South Lakes High School.

And he was way off base! Waaaaaaay off!

Somewhat correct Lovisa, it is being reported that he works for Fairfax County Public Schools.

Let me also add that I was very impressed and proud of the professionalism of the Fairfax County PD officers who were at the event. Their performance under these tense circumstances was exemplary.

    Good to know, Shiplap.

Maybe I’ll give Cheek a little leeway. Not an excuse. He must have been totally stressed out, and I suppose he doesn’t have the training that the professional police personnel has.

“I suppose he doesn’t have the training”

Nice thing about a radio, when one is uncertain, guidance is a push of the button away..

Again, no excuse, however when things get hot and the training isn’t there, one doesn’t always think straight.

And, Cato, showing off your German, are you?
Sehr gut, sehr gut! And the famous German phrase “Du bist ein Esel” fits nicely in here.

The guy is way off base, and should face disciplinary action. If he is acting as an officer, he needs to understand the law. I hope the guy with the sign forces the issue … this is permanent damage to his civil rights. His voice was silenced in a context that will not be available again. The damage is unthinkably great. No amount of money can pay for what this man did. No amount of expression of sorrow or apology can undo the damage.

I love it. Typical left winger fascist BS. The LAW means NOTHING to these fools. So when Bush=Hitler and both are pictured there, that is OK. And the MSM covers it. But when there is an Obama poster that is not complimentary to the left wings sacred cow the real deal comes out.

This jerk needs to join the ranks of the 9.7% unemployed. He is dangerous in a uniform. People, our founding fathers would never have put up with this level of crap.

It’s pretty funny that you guys think when it’s a black officer versus a white conservative he’s violating this guy’s civil rights and it’s OK to talk back to him but when Prof. Gates is arrested arrested by a black officer he got what he deserved for mouthing off and his civil rights were not violated.

For the record I think the officer here was out of line, just as it was wrong when people with anti-Bush T shirts and signs were kicked out of Bush events.

Did this man insult the officer? No.
    Did Gates? Yes.

zimzo is making as much sense as usual. Jack is tirelessly pointing out the obvious to Capt. Clueless.

    Jack,
    I admire your stamina.

    What a lame distinction, Jack.

The distinction that Prof. Gates was in the wrong and this guy was in the right is “lame”?

what zimzo appears to be saying jack is that a black man always trumps a white man..

Except if the Black man is a conservative, then he goes to the bottom of the pile because he is an Uncle Tom.

You only think the conservative is right because he shares your philosophy. But both he and Gates talked back to an officer, which you all agreed was wrong when Gates did it. Suddenly the situation is reversed and you all contradict everything you said about the Gates incident. That is the definition of hypocrisy.

You are so full of shit, zimzo. Gates insulted the officer, and called him a racist. (BTW, Sgt. Crowley was called in to investigate a CRIME.) This man said nothing insulting to the officer.

  • Quote of the New Year

Last March, NASA reported the oceans have been cooling for the last five years. Sea level has stopped rising, and Northern Hemisphere cyclone and hurricane activity is at a 24-year low.

Environmental extremists and global warming alarmists are in denial and running for cover. Their rationale for continuing a lost cause is that weather events in the short term are not necessarily related to long-term climatic trends. But these are the same people who screamed at us each year that ordinary weather events such as high temperatures or hurricanes were undeniable evidence of imminent doom.

Now that global warming is over, politicians are finally ready to enact dubious solutions to a non-existent problem. In Britain, Parliament is intrepidly forging ahead with a bold new plan to cool the climate, even as London experienced its first October snowfall since 1934 and Ireland went through the coldest October in the last 70 years.

This is an absurd spectacle. Our advanced civilization is being systematically mismanaged by technologically illiterate lawyers responding to political pressures from irrational fanatics. Would someone please tell these people it is impossible to overturn the laws of thermodynamics?
