[Monday am note - some lovely updates at bottom]
“Green jobs czar” Van Jones resigns.
The Incompetence Meter reads “99″.
And let’s be clear, the incompetence factor here was not in the “failure to vet” Van Jones. Obama and his senior aides certainly knew all about Van Jones’ recent past – they just did not perceive it would be a problem.
It was not a matter of failing to sharpen their pencils and dot all the “i”s. It was a failure to have lived among normal Americans during any recent decades. And also not having the slightest clue what is actually going on in this country.
While it has been suggested here in the past “thank goodness Obama and his crew are so incompetent or they would REALLY be dangerous,” this episode is a reminder that everyone needs to continue to keep a really close eye on these clowns. We can’t always count on incompetence to stymie their plans.
But anyway: thank you, Glenn Beck. It’s not exactly like you’re facing off against the A-Team here, but you spoke up when everyone else was still silent.

UPDATE: Good overview, with the measure of the man, here.
UPDATE II: And this I steer you to because … well, just because I like you, and your enjoyment is important to me.
UPDATE III: Next logical step here, thanks to Mike Pence.
UPDATE IV: Following that, I know you will especially appreciate savoring this.

Van Jones has only himself to blame. His own words bit his but and he will blame everyone but himself.

also: correction”butt” to the above error
Excellent news! All the pundits that predicted that Jones would be gone by Monday were correct.
Awesome, one down 30+ more czars to go. BTW read the comments of the lefties at the site pointed out in UPDATE II, it is to die for. These people’s delusions know no bounds.
The whole czar concept – with this crew – is worth examination, that is for sure.
While I make it a point to not spend much time at places like the referenced site (kinda like radiation, I think such perverse thoughts are cumulative in their effect on the human brain), I couldn’t resist taking a peek – it put me in the mind of a South Park episode …
Cartman: “Yes! Ye-e-s-s! Oh, let me taste your tears, Scott! [Starts licking Scott's tears off his face.] Mm, your tears are so yummy and sweet.
…
Oh, the tears of unfathomable sadness! Mm-yummy. [Licks the tears off the table and off Scott's face.] Mm-yummy, you guys…”
Seriously though, I’d like to reiterate what was said in this post – many of the commentators give the administration the excuse that this was just, somehow, a failure of vetting. I disagree, there’s no way the President didn’t know *precisely* who this man was. I think their belief systems are more sympatico than his apologists would like us to believe; take away his high-minded (tele-prompted) words, and look into his heart – I think you’d see he has more in common with Van Jones and Reverend Wright than he has in common with mainstream America.
And finally, let’s not let say what a tragedy this all is, how we was “lynched” – he’ll have a book deal within days that would let any one of us retire …
Joe:
As usual you nailed it. This was not a vetting problem. This was a problem brought on by the arrogance of those who believe like Jones they are the smartest people in the room. They are all like minded leftists who believe they are right and the rest of us simply needed the collectivist way explained better or wrapped in a message of hope and change. These people are believers, they were and still are comfortable with Jones thought process, beliefs and policy statements. Even like minded allies have to spend time under the bus for the greated good.
“At least one Obama pal is functioning in a similar capacity without the awesome Russian title of czar. Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, who publicly withdrew from the position of Secretary of Health and Human Services because of non-payment of income taxes, is providing “outside advice” to the President inside the Oval Office and to top White House officials, while continuing as a highly paid policy adviser to hospital and pharmaceutical clients of a law and lobbying firm.
Daschle is not registered as a lobbyist; he identifies himself as a “resource” to government and industry. It looks like Daschle has the best of all worlds, both for influence and remuneration.
The senior Senate Democrat, Robert Byrd of West Virginia (who is third in line for the U.S. presidency after Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi), wrote Obama in February saying that these czar appointments are a power grab by the executive branch and violate both the constitutional system of checks and balances and the constitutional separation of powers. He said they are a clear attempt to evade congressional oversight.
The President is entitled to have his own advisers, but these czars are directly dictating policy, and nobody really knows the extent of their powers. Whatever happened to Obama’s campaign promise of transparency?
Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA) has introduced the Czar Accountability and Reform Act (H.R. 3226) to cut off the salaries of these czars (estimated at $172,000 plus their staffs of 10+ people). It’s unlikely that the Democratic Congress will let this bill see the light of day.”

There is a complete list of “Czars” in the article.
Just my opinion, but I believe these asre the people that bHo preferred to be in his cabinet.
We actually know more about them than him.
Redstate has a really good take on this here: http://www.redstate.com/erick/2009/09/07/the-van-jones-resignation-raises-more-serious-questions/
Apparently, someone in the WH Counsel’s office is chirping.
squiddy,
You CAN’T say “lynched”, you racist! Hanged-out-to-dry is a laundry term and that is okay….except for zitzo. For him it would still be racist!
Pence requests background checks of all Obama ‘czars’
“But even as the ink was still drying on Van Jones’ resignation letter, President Obama was naming his latest czar – Ron Bloom – in the role of manufacturing adviser.”

The article contains a few questionable czars.
While they are investigating, it would also be the perfect opportunity to begin vetting and investigating the Usurper since they failed to do so to date.
