The Presidential Fulmination – Roundup

Author | joe | Posted on | September 10, 2009 | 27 Comments

It was the speech intended to save Barack Obama’s presidency. Not sure how that’s going to work out for him, but in related news my SUV is now just about full for the trip into DC Saturday morning.

Gabriel Malor: Disgustingly partisan.

Ed Morrissey: Ugly.

John Hinderaker: Not directed at thinking people.

Oh and for the record, the dipshit’s line about illegal immigrants not being covered under the Democrat plan was a lie (among many in his speech, as per usual). Shouting during the address to Congress probably reveals too much caffeine in one’s system, but you can count me as a charter member of the Joe Wilson fan club.

UPDATE: Cmac brought this info in the comments:

it is now being reported that Rep Wilson’s opponent in the 2010 election received 400,000$ in donations since last night, so let’s help a brother out:

For me, I believe Wilson’s outburst was wrong. Is it not a traditional value that while you may not like the man, the Presidency must be respected ?

I agree the outburst was wrong – and I would go so far as to say I am not sure about not liking “the man.” For all I know, as a father, husband and all around guy Obama may be perfectly ok. It’s what he is doing as president that I have major problems with. He is degrading the office.

At least Joe Wilson apologized, to the liar in chief Rahm Emmanuel – ironies of all ironies!

I’d like to see a couple apologies for all the outbursts and lies from Obama, Reid and Pelosi over the years, but I won’t hold my breath.

Whether right or wrong the Usurper was lying and he was calling everyone that has said Illegal Aliens are covered a liar.

I think that bHo’s followers needed to hear someone that has some knowledge of the bill call him out and openly state that the Usurper, Piglosi, Reid, et al ARE lying when it comes to Illegals and everything else.

Every amendment that has been proposed for verification of legal status has been TRASHED. They want ALL Illegal Aliens covered whether they get Amnesty or not.

There was one provision that basically stated that if ONE member of a household is qualified then the entire household would receive health care.

    HE,

There is no disputing the fact that Obama was not being open and honest on the issue of illegal aliens and Obamacare.

I think Joe Wilson showed his true COLORS and his lack of respect for the highest office in the nation. I do not think it would have happen if Obama’s had less pigment (melanin). But what can you expect from someone that served under the tutelage of Senator Strom Thurmond.

It’s always about race with you people, isn’t it?

    September 10th, 2009 @ 12:57 pm

    Jerry,

I really don’t think that there is a relationship between skin pigmentation and the capacity for being open, honest, and transparent during an address to Congress.

While it is universally accepted that many voted for and support Obama because of his pigmentation, this fact does not make true the inverse.

“It’s always about race with you people, isn’t it?”

What do you mean, “you people”??

    :)

It’s not *always* about race – just when the facts get inconvenient, and they need a distraction/diversion, they just whip it out …

… uh, the race card, that is …

Oh, by the way, Jerry, which is worse, the man who repeatedly lies, or the man who calls the liar a liar? (just assume I’m still talking about the President, since I know your answer will change depending on the skin color and party affiliation.)

But what else can you expect from a devotee of Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayres, and “Reverend” Jeremiah Wright?

    But how soon we forget.

It could be worse, he could have served under the tutelage of Sen.KKK Byrd. Oh, what was I thinking ,wrong political party, Byrd is a Democrat. A Democrat who by the way was your Majority Leader. You had a card carrying member of the KKK as your majority leader and you have the balls to lecture us on racism. Not only are you full of shit, your sense of history and institutional memory sucks.

Wilson’s remarks were very telling today, he stated the Republican leadership asked him to apologize – so he did. He stuck to his point though, which was that Obama was lying about allowing illegal aliens access to healthcare under the House Bill.

Regardless, it is now being reported that Rep Wilson’s opponent in the 2010 election received 400,000$ in donations since last night, so let’s help a brother out:

The English are sophisticated and the Americans are brutish, undisciplined barbarians (so the English say). We received our Congressional “manners” from our English background and our English rule early on. We did (up unto a time of the not-too-distant past) have outbursts in chambers and the congress as a “normal” routine. Whether parlimentary ruling or just us becoming civilized; this has changed. The English STILL do this and to the Prime Minister on a routine basis. They don’t do this to the Queen as we did not do this to the King in our humble beginnings. Is O’Bummer King? Beatings, stabbings, shootings are all part of our congressional past because you had difference of opinion AND sometimes emotions ran high. What makes it wrong today? And why, in heavens name, are you worrying about disrespecting the office of president when that is being done on a DAILY basis. The holder of that office has shamed the U.S. for the world to see. The office is of no importance anymore to any nation since O’Bummer started making his apology tour. Wilson’s emotions got the best of him. Rather than being PC for the cameras I personally hope it starts a reverting trend back to the good-ol-days when it was common. Wilson should give no apology and the patriots (any Repubs?) should never have admonished nor pushed him to an apology. If it isn’t sincere or warrented, you don’t give it!

The Leftie blogs are an utter hoot on the subject of Joe Wilson. The inventors of political incivility as an art form are protesting rabidly and with great vulgarity against one incident of political incivility. Makes you shake your head in disbelief that this country could develop such a crop of absolute hypocrites.

    jerry,
Bush was booed in that very chamber by the party of the current president. This is common. Only a racist loser such as yourself would imply this was a race issue. Bigot.

A little Internet Friday levity :

Little Johnny is not an Obama fan

A teacher asked her 6th grade class how many of them were obama fans.

Not really knowing what an obama fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny.

The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to be different… again.

Little Johnny said, “Because I’m not an obama fan.”

The teacher asked, “Why aren’t you a fan of obama?” Johnny said, “Because I’m a Republican.”

The teacher asked him why he’s a Republican. Little Johnny answered, “Well, my Mom’s a Republican and my Dad’s a Republican, so I’m a Republican.”

Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, “If your mom were a moron and your dad were an idiot, what would that make you?”

With a big smile, Little Johnny replied, “That would make me an obama fan.”

  • Quote of the New Year

Last March, NASA reported the oceans have been cooling for the last five years. Sea level has stopped rising, and Northern Hemisphere cyclone and hurricane activity is at a 24-year low.

Environmental extremists and global warming alarmists are in denial and running for cover. Their rationale for continuing a lost cause is that weather events in the short term are not necessarily related to long-term climatic trends. But these are the same people who screamed at us each year that ordinary weather events such as high temperatures or hurricanes were undeniable evidence of imminent doom.

Now that global warming is over, politicians are finally ready to enact dubious solutions to a non-existent problem. In Britain, Parliament is intrepidly forging ahead with a bold new plan to cool the climate, even as London experienced its first October snowfall since 1934 and Ireland went through the coldest October in the last 70 years.

This is an absurd spectacle. Our advanced civilization is being systematically mismanaged by technologically illiterate lawyers responding to political pressures from irrational fanatics. Would someone please tell these people it is impossible to overturn the laws of thermodynamics?
