She’s going to Copenhagen too.

“What a dynamic duo they will be,” Jarrett said. “I think it will be high impact, I think their presentation will be both very personal, given that they know and love Chicago so well.”

After having spent several days in Chicago a couple months ago, some observations:

1) If the local authorities and unions and do for the Games what they have done for transportation in the area, athletes will be running the track events with hard hats and construction boots because roads do not get finished in Chicago – which I think is actually written into the Transport Workers Union Local 572 contract.

2) Taxes on visitors are already obscenely steep. All that American Recovery and Reinvestment Act money is already being thoroughly absorbed into local pockets. In this economy how can they afford to set up an Olympics? Could they put tolls on the track? At current rates would cost like $120 to run the 5000 meters.

3) Does anyone else think the dynamic duo are actually setting themselves up for the mother of all high profile embarrassments? Because if Obama has proven anything yet, it’s that international leaders now view him as First Substitute Teacher. You can just imagine the IOC people sitting there watching and waiting for the teleprompter screens to get all set up, drinking coffee and saying things to each other in French like “who you think the dipshit’s speechwriter was for this one?”

4) The IOC’s final decision will be conducted by secret ballot Friday, October 2. We will have some popcorn ready, for watching the coverage.
