Health Care and Our Republic

It appears Nancy Pelosi is still not ready to give up the good ship Obamacare. Granted, the ship has not sunk yet. The ship is listing, there is fire on the poop deck. The crew is leaping into the water. The keel has broken on the rock and shoals of reality. But, Nancy has just begun to fight!

“We will go through the gate. If the gate is closed, we will go over the fence. If the fence is too high, we will pole vault in. If that doesn’t work, we will parachute in. But we are going to get health care reform passed for the American people…”

Red Nancy knows what is good for us, better than we do. I read the above and the following words run through my mind.

we shall defend our Republic, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the blogs, we shall fight in the congress, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender

The American views the current 2700+ page health care as an invasion. An invasion that will give the government the power over our bank accounts, our end of life decisions, and most importantly, our bodies. This is the subjugation of America in a single legal stroke.

Nancy knows this. The progressives know this. Be afraid. There are still 59 Democrat Senators. That is far too many to feel comfortable, let alone complacent. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. It is time for the American people to awaken from this seventy year slumber.

Is the “sky falling” again, jacob? I told you not to worry. The fix is in. I had my 7 and 5 year old grandbabies pack the chutes. I just want to hear that last scream before the sudden stop!

  3. Wolverine says:

Give Nancy a chute and drop her on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Virginia Senate Passes Health Care Freedom Act

Virginia State Senate passed Senate Bill 283 (SB283) by a vote of 23-17.

“Provides that a resident of the Commonwealth shall not be required to obtain or maintain a policy of individual insurance coverage.

The measure also states that no provision of Title 38.2 renders a resident liable for any penalty, assessment, fee, or fine as a result his failure to procure or obtain health insurance coverage.”

I love it when they tell the feds to stick it!

  5. dans says:

    HE,

AG Cuccinelli was on Cavuto talking about this earlier. He expects the House to pass it, and he is ready to defend it should the Feds challenge it.

  6. ACTivist says:

I’m surprised what Cooch has got McDonnell agreeing to. There was this issue and revoking a couple of Kaine initiatives (the double murder by a diplomat’s son?)that wouldn’t pass muster. So far, Bob is doing what I hoped he would do with Ken’s steering. I think that Bob will really shine if he listens to his AG…and often. It’s early. Ken could still turn out to be the train wreck we’ve been warned about. Immigration enforcement anyone?

  7. Had Enough says:

Dans, the states actually have the upper hand when it comes to the feds unless they change the constitution (more than they already have or desire to). We have the right to abolish the feds and form a new government if we are not happy with them.

ACTivist, this is and has been my major issue for many years. They have been behind closed doors again this year attempting some type of back door amnesty. There is also another major march on DC by the illegals in the works.

la raza, and those like them have been expressing their disappointment to the Dipshit that he has not yet granted amnesty yet.

The Dipshit is cutting over 200 border patrol agents (only the beginning) after Bush finally ordered more to be hired.

  8. Such horseshit.
McDonnell was a conservative. Some people are so twisted they imagine that Miss Va. is REALLY a beauty, because they see it that way.
I like Marshall and Cooch’s approach on State Soveriegnty (as per the Constitution) but give it a friggin rest how it’s all Ken. The whole Team is conservative.

  9. jacob says:

    Monk,
I think some people remember the whole gun-ban-bob thing. Fickle things memories. People just refuse to let go.

  10. dans says:

Do not believe the “health care reform is dead” propaganda in the MSM. Health care, and cap-n-tax are now embedded in Obama’s newly released budget. Why is this important, remember the nuclear option in the Senate ?

Tying health care and cap-n-tax to the budget sets the ground work for budget reconciliation, and a simple majority in the Senate.

  11. Dans— all manipolation in front of a majority who has now sent three messages that they don’t like vote-gymnastics to get passage. Dems do not understand yet how bad they’re damaging themselves and the country.

  12. Cathymac says:

Let’s chalk most of this up to “stylistic differences”.

We have something to celebrate – in one hour Scott Brown gets sworn in, let’s work towards continued success at the polls in 2010 and 2012. Then let’s hold the republican’s feet to the fire.

  13. Wolverine says:

Don’t celebrate just yet. We are not out of the woods. I just heard that we have a Commander-in-Chief who thinks that the battlefield medical needs of the USMC are handled by Navy “corpsemen.” Imagine if the Prez had to call out the “U.S. Marine Corpse” in an emergency. We in trouble, fellas. This one should really bolster the confidence of the troops in Afghanistan in their senior leadership. All those “sergeyants” are probably scratching their heads already.

  14. ACTivist says:

Are you trying to tell me that the Prez thinks dead sailors heal wounded Marines? What does the Navy use the “live” corpsman for? Oh, I know this one-for healing wounded sailors! We’ve always looked after ourselves first.

  15. ACTivist says:

    HE,

I know well what your priority issues are. Did you hear that Maryland has now made it tougher to get a drivers liscense? They now require 2 proofs of citizenship-one being a VERIFIABLE SSAN. Seems that other states weren’t accepting Md. drivers liscenses for proof of anything. You can equate their worthlessness to all the new paper money being printed by the gov’t.

  16. ACTivist says:

    Cmac,

That is just too cool. Our Idiot-in-Chief blunders again-twice in the same speech. I knew we should never have adopted French words into our dialect. Let’s have it removed from the dictionary along with the “r” word. Even the dead have rights and feelings!

  17. Wolverine says:

Just where is this country “Etanszini”? Is that French-based Creole for “Etats-Unis” or is that just Obamaspeak? Anyone?

  18. Had Enough says:

Keep in mind that this the the same former candidate that said, “I have already campaigned in 57 states and I haven’t been to Alaska and Hawaii yet.”

No matter how you add it, spin or what ever there are not 59 or 49 states.

Gee, where are those grades, scores, transcripts, etc……….Oh, and the birth certificate, passports………….

When will the Dipshit have textbooks printed stating that he was the only president of the United States?

Would you buy a used car from Michelle Malkin?

  21. Had Enough says:

Sure would, she’s honest and tells the truth!

  22. jacob says:

    Unlike the DOTUS!

  23. Wolverine says:

I might think about it a little bit if she was trying to sell me a Toyota right now.

  24. Wolverine says:

On the other hand, it looks to me like the Prez may be trying to sell us a budget “clunker” with only three wheels and a failing transmission.

  25. Wolve…if you don’t follow Donny — here’s where he lays out the true cost of every dollar “Cash for Clunkers” cost us as bailout funding taxpayers…
