Senate Democrats On Reconciliation

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

With all the talk of using the “Nuclear Option” to pass Obamacare, Breitbart.tv has posted a video clip of how Democrat leaders view using reconciliation to pass legislation in the Senate.

Senator calls for investigation of Al Gore!

Probably can’t happen until January, but we can wait – it will be here before we know it.

UPDATE: The Nine Lies of the Father of Climate Fraud

Al Gore Is Lying Low – For Good Reason

Hey speaking of profiting from a pack of lies, let’s not forget our local gal, Andrea “who likes to make money” McGimsey. Maybe there’s an area for investigation.

UPDATE II: A Pending American Temperaturegate. How much are you willing to pay in taxes to offset “global warming,” fellow Americans?

George Will Blasts Democrats & Dependency At CPAC

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

The old war horse has not lost a step. His argument skewers the current administration with a wit devoid of anger, angst and venom. Takes notes people, this is how a conservative message aught to be woven.

The Gay Problem

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Fellow conservatives, are we really having this conversation … Now?

All I can say is: criminy and double criminy. People are off track.

Are gay conservatives a big enough problem to divert attention from our other REALLY SERIOUS problems? I realize this is going to cause some heartburn, but right now I do not care.

To wit: The Obama Administration is talking about confiscating your retirement money and 401k funds

If you haven’t gotten the joke so far, what’s being suggested is that 401K and IRA accounts be converted to fixed-income instruments, and that some portion (or even the entire balance) be allocated to (wait for it) Treasuries.

By all means, read all of that and follow his links.

I don’t know about you. I’ve spent my share of time on public policy debates related to this issue – in the past. But right now is it not evident we have bigger fish to fry and is it not evident we should seek common ground with people who agree with us about clear and present dangers to our lives and futures? Shouldn’t a sense of proportion kick in where we say the debates of 2007 are oh, so three years ago?

Even though I will always oppose special status for self-elevated identity-based interest groups I just can’t stay angry enough about homosexuality to oppose everything gay people do, everywhere, in every instance. So when a “gay” group shows up at a conservative event and the individuals within it are on board with the overarching goals, it just strikes me as insane to be impolite to them.

What the f–k, people? I mean, what the f–k? Is it the case that we are overflowing with sensible folks who will take time to go to a grassroots event and commit to saving our country? Are there really TOO MANY of those comrades in arms? You actually BOO people who show up willing to work?

It makes me sick and it paints the picture of how the road to serfdom becomes a reality for all of us.

Get this: Conservatives can kiss off “Hot Air” blog

Unbelievable. Notions that suggest “cutting nose to spite face” or “selling children to appease resentments”. The issue of the day is not what people do in their bedrooms. The issue is whether we will continue to allow the wealth of our country to be squandered for generations into the future.

YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE YOUR RETIREMENT SAVINGS, DUMBASSES, AND YOU WILL END YOUR LIVES EATING CAT FOOD. There are people willing to stand by you to forestall that future. Do you really want to ensure the former by framing the latter as demons?

Respectfully,

Joe

KC Takes On The EPA

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli took a gutsy and intelligent step Feb. 17 when he petitioned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to reconsider its ill-advised “finding” that carbon dioxide creates an endangerment for human health.

“Attorney General Cuccinelli believes that the EPA acted in an arbitrary and capricious fashion and failed to properly exercise its judgment by relying almost exclusively on reports from the IPCC [Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, an arm of the United Nations] in attributing climate change to [human-caused] greenhouse gas emissions,” the AG’s office explains. “The IPCC is an international body that is not subject to U.S. data quality and transparency standards and the IPCC prepared their reports in total disregard to U.S. Standards.”

Read at the Washington Times

The EPA’s actions were based upon data that we now know was tainted, and must be looked at in a new light. It is about time someone made this correlation, and filed for further scientific review.

Redesign

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Don’t ask. Just trust me the old one was not working right.

UPDATE: Oh, yeah … fellow bloggers, you will notice the current placeholder design does not show who wrote a post so if you want anyone to know who wrote it you will need to do something like the following at the bottom of each post:

Love,

Joe

P.S. Since the current placeholder design DOES have the feed working and also does not totally screw up formatting, and since as some of you know I am a little preoccupied right now with things outside this blog, I may end up letting this design ride for a while so we’ll have to get used to the workarounds and inconvenience for a spell.

Climate Science Unravelling Like A Cheap Sweater

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

What Enron did for “corporate governance” and what Barack Obama did for “Harvard educated,” climate scientists are doing for, well, science:

Ignoring public concerns over the emails and IPCC errors was a public relations blunder, he and others at yesterday’s panel said.

Then again, “Scientists are not very good at public relations,” observed Cicerone, an atmospheric chemist and climate scientist.

By not “stepping up” to defend the general strength of climate science in the wake of recent public challenges, the panelists acknowledged, bloggers and television pundits have been free to spin the revelations as evidence that most climate science is now suspect. And it most assuredly is not, the panelists maintained.

The truth of the matter is that these scientists are pretty damn good at PR insofar as they have bluffed and bloviated their way to millions of dollars of grant money to conduct fraudulent research. What they are woefully bad at is scientific research:

In a statement the authors of the paper said: “Since publication of our paper we have become aware of two mistakes which impact the detailed estimation of future sea level rise. This means that we can no longer draw firm conclusions regarding 21st century sea level rise from this study without further work.

“One mistake was a miscalculation; the other was not to allow fully for temperature change over the past 2,000 years. Because of these issues we have retracted the paper and will now invest in the further work needed to correct these mistakes.”

That little detail of “temperature change over the past 2,000 years” is one I am certain might have eluded 50% of ninth graders taking Earth Science, so there is that. But the ninth graders don’t get a bullhorn to summon support for billions of dollars in new taxes on American consumers.

Thank goodness, “climate change” is being fully revealed as nonsense and Al Gore as the dumbest guy in the room, yet again.

Sincerely yours,

Joe

Sterling Curlers

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

ATTENTION!!!!  Tonight on NBC Nightly News (channel 4 locally) they will be featuring the U.S. Olympic Curling Team.  This could be the “insight” we have been waiting for.  Be sure to listen to what brand of beer they drink.  This could be the deciding factor for that perfect eye/hand/falling down co-ordination necessary to prevail in this sport.  Toast!

TSA to Harass Gun Owners

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Not officially, of course.  That would be too crude.  No, the TSA is going to start swabbing travellers’ hands for explosives. Will these swabbings be able to detect gunpowder residue? Will merely washing one’s hands after a session at the range be sufficient to remove that residue? What of those of us who reload?

When Is It Too Early To Run For Political Office?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

That is a good question and I have some thoughts on the subject.  I consider now to be the optimal time to start campaigning for President in 2012.  Why, you ask?  Here’s my thoughts.

Huckleberry, Giuliani and Palin have been beating the stump regularly, staying in the public’s mind.  That is smart because the names are remaining familiar.  Obama and the Dems are mis-stepping , shooting themselves in the foot, thumbing their noses at the general public’s wants and jumping ship because the fire is too hot under the frying pan they are sitting in.  CONSERVATIVES are becoming the voice and movement of choice.  Even the libs are beginning to research what this constitutional document is all about.  Remember that “perfect storm” thing?

The ones beating the drum now are getting name recognition.  What this does is allow the opposition to work on “what if” strategy if these people become candidates.  That is good for everyone because it will bring any skeletons out of the closet EARLY.  We, the citizens, will be able to vet these people long before they can become the ticket.  Also, those candidates that make a stance on issues NOW will show us whether they blow with the prevailing winds or stand tall and pat as Cuccinelli did.  That is VERY GOOD for us all.

I personally would like to have a long time to research fully and understand potential candidates to weed out those that are only looking for power or snow you now to enslave you later.  My advice is to pay attention to who is talking now and what is being said.  If you have a favorite in mind, write them and tell them to test the waters.  There are good candidates out there and I really don’t feel like picking from “changlings” or “pseudos” all the time.  After all, should Romney be the GOP choice because he’s better than Obama?  ANYONE is better than Obama.  Palin scares everyone.  The Tea Partiers scare the Dems, GOP and the libs.  Huckleberry scraes me.

Who would be your favorite conservative to set this country right?  We already know the Dems can’t do it.

Why People Disdain Government Employees

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

They got three or four PAID days off last week because of the snow, and they STILL take the Presidents’ Day “holiday.” When the rest of us can’t work because of the snow, we don’t get paid.

Report from the gun show

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Actually I am just trying to see if I can remember how to post photos via blackberry, but I can tell you ammo prices are way down if you look around. AK prices are not bad but not as good as available online. Not a huge crowd for a Friday, though because of the snow parking is a bear.

Mark Sell is doing a smart thing hanging out here, handing out his LCRC campaign flyers.

Today is a good day to be here. With ammo prices as low as online (and no freight charges) I imagine tomorrow is going to be really crowded and you will have to park a mile away.

Gun Show This Weekend!

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Sorry I’m late.  Gun show at the Expo Center in Chantilly.

Friday 3-8pm

Saturday 9am-5pm

Sunday 10am-5pm

While you are there I would suggest you go to the VDCL both which is to the right when you walk in the doors next to the snack bar.  Your membership will help to fight Virginia’s draconian  gun laws as well as allowing your voice to be counted to state elected representatives.  Just getting the free e-mail updates does not allow VDCL to count you when they go as an organization to state congress.  If you are into gun rights, be in ALL THE WAY!

Hope to see you there.

Freedom Demands Effort

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Fiscal conservatives unite! Slavery is working 12 months a year and seeing the fruits of that labor taken by someone else. As such a slave derives no personal benefit from his labor. The average American works 5.5 months are year without personal benefit. Therefore we are halfway there to becoming slaves for the government.

Take back your money. Take back your power. You get the government you deserve. Stop sitting on you behinds and watching American Idol. Stop being politically idle, get out there. Get out on the web, get out to your town-halls, and city halls. Find out what your politicians are up to, and give your local, state and federal politicians hell. It’s your money there are wasting. That means it is your time they are wasting. That means it is your lives they are wasting.
