Where you are held accountable for your convictions and record

Mark Levin: Where are the ecological experts? (Click on the 4/29 audio download) “Swat teams from the Department of Interior? … Doesn’t this sound like Hugo Chavez to you?”

The reason he’s been twiddling his thumbs is because the response to accidents can’t easily be scripted in advance.

Well, of course we all know of the 0bamacare disaster that will force the young to pay more for insurance than they should be, and we all know that the tripling of the deficit is stealing from those who will have to pay it back (the young).  But few know that the Social Security taxes the young now pay will not be credited to them.  Why?  Because only the highest 35 years are counted.  So for someone who starts working at 18, and retires at 67 has worked for 49 years, but only 35 count.  So for 14 years, the government will take their 15% FICA tax without giving them credit for it.

Let’s get our youth informed about what the government is doing to them.

NASA reveals all.

Answer: You damn bethca they are!  It has begun that “PC” or political correctness is now a death thro for Constitutional Americans.  No longer are we going to sit back and be drug through the mud or made to feel guilty about something that is right and is the law.

It appears that Al Sharptounge and Jesse Jackass are fighting a “new” civil rights movement for…..NON U.S. citizens.  The Arizona law to stop suspected illegals and ask for documents is being characterized as terrorism.  Excuse me?  San Francisco wants to break any contracts or ties with Arizona because of this law.  Can you guess who is the most outspoken group againest it?  That’s right-the illegals.  Imagine that.  Problem is, the only people listening are the liberals; who don’t want to lose what they believe to be a new voting base, and those individuals who already hate our laws and want to just give “open arms” to the world….at the cost, of course, of the American citizen.

Now people are oh so worried about violating civil rights-which our current administration gives to the world citizens.  Okay.  I have a solution for that.  I believe that a set amount of police should set-up un-announced vehicle checkpoints every day in different areas of Arizona until further notice.  Now they can check for valid liscense, stickers and green cards.  This is prudent especially when the illegals usually drive around with a full car.  That will decrease the number thru deportation drastically and then they can move on to hospitals and government services.  Crime would abate; money would be saved thru services and English may come back as the primary language.  Then when the protests ramp up, check those in the crowd yelling for their rights, for THEIR I.D.’s!

I can have loads of fun with this because it is long overdue.  I don’t give a crap about WHY illegals are here and the sob stories of their plight in their own countries.  Do it right or get caught and deported.  I’m just glad that Cooch didn’t come up with the idea first on this one.  Not that I don’t want or expect him to jump on this bandwagon.  I just hope that the radicals that protest with the illegals forget THEIR I.D.’s.  Then they can be deported also.  You can never have enough free space in America for American citizens!

You may not agree with me but, heh, it’s a free country.  All I can say is “kiss my ass and go back where you came from”.  Amnesty is not an option here.  “it’s my money and I want it now!”

In a sense, it would make more sense to tell people not to trash any religion, but if every religion except Islam is subject to ridicule, the so should Islam. I don’t normally think of the NYT as having anything close to a conservative bone in their collective bodies, but this commentary makes sense. Not only does it not make sense that only one religion should be exempt from parody, but those that become violent over parody ought be arrested and charged with the crimes which they have committed.

Lest it be said that we conservatives just oppose 0bama at every turn, let me say for the record that I support 0bama’s giving the go-ahead for a hypersonic fast-strike missile.  The more ways we have to kill terrorists without putting our own soldiers in harms way, the happier I am.  Thank you, Mr. President.

We see the word “fair” all over the place in political debate.  The Citizens for Tax Justice say they “fight for fair taxes for middle and low-income families” and “requiring the wealthy to pay their fair share” (emphasis added).  0bama decries Arizona’s recently passed anti-illegal-immigration bill as “[threatening] to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans.”  Drug laws are called unfair to “people of color.”

The trouble is, no-one can seem to define fair and then apply that definition in the legislative world.

So let’s start with the old standby, Webster’s.  Definition 6 is the closest to what we seek:

6 a : marked by impartiality and honesty : free from self-interest, prejudice, or favoritism <a very fair person to do business with> b (1) : conforming with the established rules : allowed (2) : consonant with merit or importance : due <a fair share> c : open to legitimate pursuit, attack, or ridicule <fair game>

Well, 6b(1) isn’t much help here, because the law is the rule.  6c doesn’t really apply, either.  So we’re left with two: “marked by impartiality and honesty : free from self-interest, prejudice, or favoritism” and “consonant with merit or importance : due <a fair share>.”

The Bible is also a good source of wisdom.  Looking there, we read, “Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.” (Lev. 19:15)

In any of the Law concerning tithing, there is no distinction between rich and poor in the giving.  Every third year, everyone is expected to give one tenth of that year’s produce “to the Levite, the alien, the fatherless and the widow….” (Deut 26:13)  Is that not a flat tax?  Perhaps there are people who think they know better than God what fair is.

Conservative talk-show host Sean Hannity likes to challenge his liberal callers with the question, “Would you agree with the philosophy ‘From each according to his ability; to each according to his need’?”  If they agree with the statement, he attributes it to Karl Marx and calls them Marxists.  Well, no.  Is not a flat tax, strictly speaking, “according to one’s ability”?  If you make $10,000, you pay $1000; and if you make $100,000, you pay $10,000.  If one says that the pressure of an ideal gas changes according to its temperature, we understand that to mean “in direct proportion to.”  If one says that the speed of sound in that gas chages according to the fourth power of its temperature, we also understand that to mean “in direct proportion to the fourth power.”

So, I challenge the liberals in attendance.  God deems fair, w.r.t. tithes anyway, to be in direct proportion to one’s income.  It also has the beauty of simplicity — no deductions, no write-offs.  Can you do better?  What is your definition of fair?
