The Glenn Beck Restoring Honor rally in DC, which looks like it is going to attract over 250,000 people based on the current crowd, is live on Ustream. Click here to watch.

Sarah Palin just went on. Wish I could be there!

After many years of incremental health insurance cost increases, I was informed by my employer this week that the cost of our health care is going up 50%.

Bend over America.

Our economy is in the toilet, agreed?  We have non-compliance with our laws and apathy for those poor immigrants (legal and illegal) who just want to bilk our system yet retain their cultures intact.  Well, why the hell not?  I have a solution for a win-win proposition that will cure all our current woes…….land annexation.  It is very simple when you think about it.

First, we send a shrimp boat down to Cuba heading for Gitmo….the long way around.  Since we have won the war in Iraq, we now have a plethora of military personnel that need something to do.  When Cuban forces open fire on our shrimp boat (which will have some insignificant U.S. diplomat aboard), we can declare war on Cuba.  We’ll use the prisoners at Gitmo for “bombing missions” at military installations on the island.  Of course they will do this for us or face having to eat a pound of raw bacon (tape worms are a backup plan).  Now we have a strategic island to park nukes on (nothing new, right?)

Next we send another insignificant diplomat into Mexico to flirt with, say, the President’s wife or some cartel’s squeeze.  Once that fight ensues, we invade them.  Now we have all the medical marijuana that California needs and they can get their sorry ass out of debt without us having to do a bailout.  The money we confiscate from the cartels will pay off politicians here to vote the “conservative way” and reduce those losing expenditures we are feeling.  Of course, all Ex-panics look alike so we can just continue conquering all the way down to the (and including) Panama Canal.  Now that we got the Jimma project back in our ownership we can levy heavy tolls on the Chinese ships that are making their way to the left coast Wal-Marts.  In no time at all, we will break even with the China debt and go into the black.

Next we take all the illegals and park them down in their respective (or possibly) new countries and fit them with explosive ankle bracelets.  Around each respective country will be one of those invisible fences that zaps you when you get too close only this will have harsher repercussions.  That will keep the little suckers where they belong.  And we can take all the Sharia compliant people and park them down there also (plenty of desert) where they can practice their way of life without having to change ours.

Now we can call the place the United States of South America or maybe The United States of America Part Deux but I think giving it a military rank would be more appropriate:  The United States of America-Second Class.  We can make Joe Arpaio supreme ruler and dictator of this little nation.  Their main resources will be agriculture (wheat for bread) and pigs (for boloney of course) to feed the masses.  Well, maybe not the Sharia-ites but change or perish I always say.

No, I didn’t forget about Cuba.  Those missiles?  Just go ahead and slam America one more time.  I dare you.

Did you miss me????

A quote often attributed to Japanese Admiral Yamamoto, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve” may be a message from history that the Progressive movement, led by President Obama, should have listened to.

While President Bush left office with a very low approval rating, primarily driven by an MSM feeding frenzy, his popularity appears to be rebounding quite well after leaving office. A recent Gallup poll shows Obama’s popularity at 52 percent, and George Bush at 45 percent. During Obama’s time in office, his overall popularity has fallen 20 percent, Bush’s has risen by 10. Quite a significant turn around, given Bush finds it necessary to swim against the tide of the MSM, while Obama has them washing his feet. Against all odds, and a very vocal minority, Bush’s star is rising as Obama’s falls.

Also significant :

A prominent Democratic pollster is circulating a survey that shows George W. Bush is 6 points more popular than President Obama in “Frontline” districts — seats held by Democrats that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sees as most vulnerable to Republican takeover. That Bush is more popular than Obama in Democratic-held seats is cause for outright fear.

To what would we attribute these turnovers in presidential popularity ? It would appear the sleeping giant is awakening in response to Obama’s full frontal assault assault against America.

We have all seen the “Do You Miss Me Yet ?” posters. It would also seem that America’s answer is quickly becoming ‘Hell, Yes!’.

Sometime back I wrote about an observed lack of “shovel ready projects” being funded by Obama’s stimulus package.

Well, I finally found some. Visitors to Skyline Drive are now being treated to a plethora of “Your Recovery Tax Dollars At Work” signs along the 107 mile roadway. Probably as many signs as there are men actually working. I have to admit, they are damn good looking signs, but I could not help but ask myself, why here, and why now ?

Years ago Andre Agassi reminded us that “image is everything”. signs all over Skyline Drive, a prime tourist attraction, in an election year. Now I get it, it’s all in the illusion.

We have all heard repeatedly from the left how our current economic mess is to be blamed on George Bush and the Iraq War. American Thinker points out, that yet again the left is being dishonest :

So the following are facts, based on the government’s own figures.

  • Obama’s stimulus, passed in his first month in office, will cost more than the entire Iraq War — more than $100 billion (15%) more.
  • Just the first two years of Obama’s stimulus cost more than the entire cost of the Iraq War under President Bush, or six years of that war.
  • Iraq War spending accounted for just 3.2% of all federal spending while it lasted.
  • Iraq War spending was not even one quarter of what we spent on Medicare in the same time frame.
  • Iraq War spending was not even 15% of the total deficit spending in that time frame. The cumulative deficit, 2003-2010, would have been four-point-something trillion dollars with or without the Iraq War.
  • The Iraq War accounts for less than 8% of the federal debt held by the public at the end of 2010 ($9.031 trillion).
  • During Bush’s Iraq years, 2003-2008, the federal government spent more on education that it did on the Iraq War. (State and local governments spent about ten times more.)

  • According to the CBO, the Obama stimulus will cost us more than the Iraq War. Think about that..

Yes, it is summer all right, but certainly not the “Recovery Summer” the White House kept telling us about. What will be the next empty promise to the American people, Recovery Fall ?

Jobless claims rise to highest level in 9 months

WASHINGTON – Employers appear to be laying off workers again as the economic recovery weakens. The number of people applying for unemployment benefits reached the half-million mark last week for the first time since November.

It was the third straight week that first-time jobless claims rose. The upward trend suggests the private sector may report a net loss of jobs in August for the first time this year.

I certainly hope we are not entering a double-dip recession, a second recession completely owned by DOTUS and his team of bungling economic advisors. The indicators are certainly trending that way.
