The leftists in Congress are holding up the FY2011 budget yet again.  (They could not pass a budget when they held the House, the Senate, and the Presidency, so we should not be surprise.)  This time, they claim that they simply cannot accept cuts to Planned Parenthood.

Now, leftists have never been too strong in the logic department, but this one is a real doozy!  First, the whole reason Planned Parenthood was founded was to reduce the Black birthrate.  That’s not really a big surprise, since the leftists seem to think that Blacks cannot take care of themselves.  However, Planned Parenthood’s founding principle cuts into the Democrats’ base.

But leaving that aside, the leftists want you to think that Planned Parenthood, NPR, PBS, ACORN, et al., are good programs, and are therefore worthy of public support.  But because the leftists think that those programs need more money than they are getting in donations, they must think that the people are not smart enough to come to the same conclusion, or the people would be giving enough money to those organizations.

How then can the people, who are not smart enough to wisely choose where to donate their hard-earned money, possibly be smart enough to choose their representatives, who will forcibly take the people’s money to give to those organizations the people did not think were worthy of their voluntary donations?

If the people are not wise enough, not intelligent enough, and not informed enough to decide who deserves their money, then they cannot be wise enough, intelligent enough, and informed enough to decide who the should decide.

If the people are wise enough, intelligent enough, and informed enough to decide who the deciders should be, then they are wise enough, intelligent enough, and informed enough to decide which charities deserve their money.
