ABC reports that a family court judge ruled that a child’s mother abandoned her six-month-old son when she was arrested for being in the country illegally. Her son was put up for adoption, and his adopted parents are all he has known for the last four-and-a-half years. The mother is being allowed to stay in the country until the case is over, when she will be deported to Guatemala.
If she had stolen physical property, instead of just someone’s job, and she had been sentenced to prison, her son would have become a ward of the State or been put up for adoption. Those are the normal consequences of breaking the law.
Suggestion to illegal immigrants — take your children and go home, and apply to come here legally.
