The Redskins have tried everything; new coaches, old coaches, new quarterbacks, old quarterbacks, etc. Nothing has worked. About the only thing they haven’t tried is a new owner.

If the Redskins had a solid team and the final piece of the puzzle was an upgrade at the QB position, then this might make sense. However, there are so many positions in need of upgrading that this would be a waste of money.

jack – It’s a different era now due to recent rules changes favoring the passing game. I think teams need a highly accurate passer with a strong arm to make it to the championship games these days.

There was a reason othere teams passed on signing Jeff George at the end of his career, his skills had dimmished, yet the redskins signed him. There was a reason Andy Reid let McNabb go , his skills had diminished, he was no longer a viable NFL QB, yet the Redskins signed him. The only team dumber than the Redskins was the Vikings, they too signed McNabb after he failed in Washington.
Peyton Manning will go down as one the best QB’s to ever play the game. There is no other single player in the NFL in the last 8 years or more who was more important to their team than he. Manning made every other player on the field better. Further , I would add he was the smartest QB in the league and still is. However , there is a reason the Colts are willing to let this ICON go, his career is over. They know more about his injury and recovery process than anyone else. They are preparing their franchise for life without him, as they should.

The Redskins should not again make the mistake of bringing in veteran QB cast off by another team. The nature of Mannings injury alone and the inconsistant play of their offensive line, the group that would be responsible for protecting his injured neck should have them saying , no thank you.
