The funny thing is that Obama speaks as if he believes that success is random or accidental. But for him, it is true. He is the “dumb luck kid”. Let’s review:

- He was a throw away candidate for senate against a shoo-in GOP incumbent that got into a scandal and was forced to drop out late in the race, leaving the GOP with no alternatives.

- John Edwards, in spite of the skeletons, decides to run for president and takes away from the Hillary vote and hands victory to him in Iowa in 2008 – making him a viable candidate and gets the endorsement of many major Democratic figures. MAKE NO MISTAKE…had Edwards not run in 2008, Hillary would probably be President right now.

- The GOP establishment nominates a man that despises conservatives and wanted to expand the wars at a time the population is tired of war.

- Bush fatigue

- The collapse of the economy in September 2008

None of the above was due to anything he did to get where he got. All of it, fell into his lap. The only thing he did was give soaring speeches which appealed to the young idealists wanted to prove that they were not racist. Plus they were seeking a Messiah, which Obama gladly provided for them. That is why his campaign consistently had him surrounded in the savior-like imagery, such as the Greek columns in Denver.

All of it makes me want to puke. Our last two presidents were elected because of who their fathers were.

BTW, blacks actually embrace “mulattoes”. Take a look at any of the black magazines and look at who their list of most beautiful black women are. You will find that many of them are partially white (e.g. Beyonce, Vanessa Williams, Halle Berry), if not mostly white (e.g. Mariah Carey, Lena Horne, Alicia Keys). Then for political reasons, they will throw in a woman like Michelle Obama or Oprah on their “most beautiful” list.

As for politics many do not know it, but the early black Senators were from the GOP, and all of them were “mulatto”. WEB Dubois, Frederick Douglas and Booker T Washington were all “mulattoes”. Thurgood Marshall had significant white blood, if not a “mulatto” himself.

Malcolm X, Huey Newton (a founder of the Black Panthers) and Farrakhan all had/have significant white blood and were/are fair skinned.

Then of course there is Obama himself.

Point is that “mulattoes” have always been accepted by blacks, and even further more often than not have been leaders.

All of the political class are completely “out-of-touch” with working-class people – they’re millionaires, who ride in limos and government-provided executive jets/helicopters, with security details, who party with worshipful Hollywood actors/actresses who pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege of grovelling at their feet. To my knowledge Romney has never been charged by the IRS or a state tax collection agency with a violation of tax laws. If there was something like that out there, I have no doubt that it would have been leaked long ago by an administration whose minions have been notorious for forcing the opening of hitherto legally sequestered divorce papers and using the info found therein to destroy opponents in Illinois. No, I think the goal here is to find the kind of data that can be used to pursue the anti-wealth caper on the political front in another “us-and-them” barrage.

To Hell with Romney’s tax forms and with Obama’s school records. I want to see what has been closed off by executive order concerning Fast and Furious. Having been engaged personally in just that kind of operation, I strongly suspect that there is something in those docs which has the potential to be real campaign fodder for the opposition. I am surprised that Romney has not used that for a counterattack.

True, Lovisa. But this POTUS had the majority in both houses in 2009-2010, and they gave him everything he wanted. On one of those bills, they didn’t even bother to read it before passage. He is still in the process of spending the proceeds.

In another vein, as a Vietnam vet, I am getting more than a little tired of the contemporary libs talking about anyone’s Vietnam military service or lack thereof. When I went off to that war by order of the then Democratic Party POTUS (who ironically ran on a peace candidate platform in 1964 and convinced me to vote for him), the so-called libs not only considered me to be a fool and a sucker but also addressed me and a lot of other vets with some choice and very insulting ad hominems when we came home — all the while doing everything they could to avoid military service, including student and other official deferments and even running off to Canada. Now they and their progeny hypocritically bring up a lack of military service on the part of conservative pols they do not like. If deferred during that era, those pols did exactly what many of them or their fathers did. That war cost me four years of my life and 11 months in a military hospital; but I hold no animus against those who were able to get legitimate deferments, including my own brothers. Quite bluntly, that war belongs to the vets who fought in it — so the libs should shut their modern-day, ultra-partisan, hypocritical cake holes about who did and who did not serve. (I’ll make exceptions for those who have combat ribbons and/or combat zone medals in their personal memory boxes.)

As for Mitt Romney, he was not much different than many other guys of that era. His record looks like this:

1965: Graduation from high school.

1965-1966: Attending Stanford Univ. on a normal S-2 student deferment.

1966: Leaves Stanford and begins a religiously mandated 30-month stint as a Mormon missionary in France with a 4-D ministerial deferment. That kind of deferment was not unusual. It was SOP for certain cases. I had a similar deferment while serving two years in the US Peace Corps. Understand that this was a temporary deferment that lasted only as long as your particular service. Once you finished that service, you went right back into the draft pool, just as I did. Also understand that Romney could have continued for the same three years at Stanford and had S-2 deferments.

1969: Returns to the US and enters the undergraduate program at Brigham Young University and then goes on eventually to Harvard for law and MBA degrees. He was in the draft pool in December 1969 and drew a 300 in the draft lottery, which was high enough to keep him out of the draft and the war. A lower number and he would have likely been conscripted barring standard S-2 deferments while at BYU. Should he have volunteered nevertheless? Believe you me, by 1970 we were clearly searching for an honorable way out of the war; and nobody wants to volunteer to be the last man killed in a retreat. I’ll wager that there is not a manjack among you who would have volunteered under those circumstances unless you might have wanted to make the military a career.

Romney was no different than many in his generation with regard to the draft and that war. But there is one thing I do not believe he did, unlike a certain prior POTUS: lie to a draft board about his military status.

And then there will always be that old refrain about avoiding the Vietnam draft or any other military service and yet being willing to send our contemporary young men (and women) into harm’s way. Well, there is this C-in-C now who never put on a uniform of any kind and likely never even considered it but who gave Seal Team 6 the signal to launch on a very dangerous mission. If the lack of actual military service on the part of a POTUS doesn’t bother an old vet like me, I don’t know why all the libs who themselves have never served at all think they can make an issue about who served and who did not in a war which ended decades ago.

Gee…. I don’t see any mention of Lil’ Timmy Geitner….an ADMITTED tax cheater who works for Obama. He’s DOCUMENTED to have not paid taxes. We don’t even have to speculate on that.

Reid just stated that no one in Obama’s cabinet could get a position without showing tax returns. Speaking of lies and Tim Geithner!!! As with Fast and Furious, if proof needs to be given by Romney then let them have the last ten years of his taxes with everything but his name and taxes paid blacked out. After all, the real object isn’t to see how much money Romney made nor what breaks he legitimately received by law but to satisfy the accusation that he did pay taxes.

Bush was basically ineffective since the beginning of 2007 and the Democrat majority in both houses. The cause of the downturn happened due to the Congress at this time and Bush will still be blamed for a bad economy in the future. If the ecomomy turns around when Romney takes over, will the left say it is from what Obama put in place? Of course they will cause ignorance is bliss.
