Reb — I don’t know the sequence between the “kiss” and the Bain Capital involvement in the saving of Baskin and Robbins, but the fact that there is still a Baskin and Robbins there so a commemorative plaque could be placed is ironic enough for me. How about: “Cult of Personality Tutti Frutti”?

This is really ironic. There is a Baskin Robbins ice cream place in Chicago where Obama reportedly gave Michelle her first kiss. They have put up a plaque there commemorating that tender moment in the lives of the First Couple. The irony is that Bain Capital under Mitt Romney bought into Dunkin’ Brands, the parent company of Baskin Robbins, and helped to turn the whole company around, thereby ensuring the continuation of the Baskin Robbins franchises.

squiddy, I, too, had thought that very thing and today in the WSJ is an article that promotes the same idea. I wouldn’t think at this juncture that Clinton has 2 legs to dance on with her stellar performance as SoS. It probably would promote a Vince Foster scenario if that ticket did win in Nov. but I still want Obama saddled with the idiot that he chose. Continues to show how out in left field he is on everything with all the un-qualified people and out of touch ideas he surrounds himself with. Remember, only the lazy and stupid would ever vote for that ticket and I think that is still only 45% of the voting public.

Here’s my fear – that Joe steps in it deep enough that he suddenly decides he needs to spend more time with his family, and Clinton runs for VP, which might be more attractive to her, now, as it would grease the skids for running four years from now. Clinton would be a far stronger ticket, in that right now, there’s not a lot of enthusiasm for Obama, and this would generate some badly-needed enthusiasm.

Personally, I don’t think the “chains” comment was a “gaffe” – we’ve heard the same kind of bizarre comments from members of his Pravda, er, “Truth Squad” and Rep. Carson – you know this is precisely the kinds of things campaign workers are saying to African-Americans, and this is precisely the kind of fear they want to instill in them, as a catalyst for getting out the vote of this all-important bloc.

Yup, “Hope and Change” == fear-mongering, race-baiting, character assassination, and Big Lie tactics.
