Romney releases his tax statement for 2011 and it immediately becomes an add where he paid less taxes than YOU did. I hope it becomes a question at the debate so Romney can say “yes, after already paying taxes on the original money at higher rates than the middle class, 14% was on the “investment interest”. You see, that is the problem with this administration. They tell you lies and half truths and this deceiving ad just gives you a shallow understanding of why they have no clue on economics”. From that point, Romney can go right into F&F, GE, Sunoco, illegals, Obama’s college transcripts, etc. Just wait for the red light and the next turn he has, continue the conversation where he stopped and do that all night. The commentators will pull their hair out when they lose control over the debate.

Today, on the radio, I heard a bit of a media interview in which President Obama spoke of Mitt Romney’s refusal to release more of his tax returns. The interview turned into a mini-lecture on how important it is for someone seeking high office such as the Presidency to be completely open and transparent with the American people.

We as a people have finally arrived in La-La Land. We get lectures on transparency from a fellow who has kept his own c.v. under lock and key and who has chosen to frustrate the legitimate inquiry of a House committee into Fast and Furious by placing a White House block on the relevant key documents. And then there is that little matter of the “open mic” where we, the people, were given one impression of our policy toward Russia and POTUS told the Russians sotto voce to ignore that because the real policy would be revealed after the election. I can add the assurances that we are deporting illegal immigrants in signficant numbers, only to learn that ICE agents have filed suit against their own bosses, telling us that virtually all detainees are being let loose in violation of federal law.

Deliberate deceptions. Major legislative bills that no one can read before they are passed. Government transparency which is a sham. The USG suing one state after another when those states try to exercise their rights on behalf of their own people.

If this man is not defeated in November, this nation will have gone from being the Land of the Free to being the Land of the Fools.

Of course, this also point out a very difficult problem with getting Pakistan into the modern world — being a Commonwealth nation, its citizens have the right to emigrate to any other Commonwealth nation. So as soon as a Pakistani gets an education, he leaves.

Here’s something that should interest all Seniors on Medicare and being promised the world by Obamacare. The National Health Service (NHS) in the UK is often used by libs as an example of how people just love the heck out of government-run health care. According to the Financial Times of London, the NHS is suffering a “brain drain” of UK-trained doctors. Those docs are headed out, often for Australia and New Zealand, in search of more opportunities and better pay and conditions. Since 2008, more than 8000 have requested certificates of good standing from the UK Medical Council so they can emigrate. Some of them have been unable to get jobs because there are more openings in med school than there are NHS jobs and transitioning into private practice is difficult. The number of permanent visas granted to UK doctor immigrants by Australia reportedly has tripled in the last five years. Of course, the head of the NHS union claims those UK docs are being replaced by wonderfully prepared physicians from abroad. Nice. A professional population trade — probably involving some sort of “brain drain” on the already beleagured Third World, I suppose.

The Fuller Brush Man / You brought back memories from the 50s. I loved having those nice young men – and they WERE nice – come to the house. I was at home w/ small kids and anything that broke the routine was welcome. Their wares was of excellent quality; still have a beautiful woodhandled hairbrush from that time.
