Please spend the time to listen to former NFL great Burgess Owens speak on being a Conservative Black Man, he knows his history and is very confident his message will get out.
Keep in mind the recent unbelievable poll that Romney is receiving ZERO support in the black community.
I know some black Romney supporters, so it can’t possibly be ZERO. I think that the reality is that if a black does not support Obama, he/she will be ashamed to admit it and tell the pollster they are “undecided”. Come to think of it, that may even be the case with some whites as well. Obama’s numbers may be a little inflated this time with people actually planning to vote for Romney instead of Obama.
I mean, who wants to be called an “Uncle Tom” or racist?
That said, the number of blacks who do not support Obama (even in secret) is still very small.
Folks, post-NFL Concussion syndrome must be a really horrible thing or this guy is smoking crack. How deluded would you have to be that 94% of black people GET that the Republicans offers them nothing or will not even accept them without some kind of Uncle Tom gesture (books, website, commentator etc….)??? When corporate America has no more use for a black man, they can almost always find NEW money by “Uncle Tomming” to promote their so called previous success. For the numb nuts out there, the 0% is a statistical “zero” not an absolute zero. It means that so few blacks are for Romney at this point that it is virtually nil. Blacks of ALL stripes are actively choosing the Democratic Party over the GOP….and until the GOP gets rid of the racists running the party–they will always pimp Uncle Toms to cover for their overt racism.
…and the black communities are in such wonderful shape as a result of 40 years of one party rule.
This “racist” crap is worn out bs, it has lost its effect and meaning
Uncle Tom, Who are the racists running the R Party?
The blacks who stand up and shout “I’m for Romny” get a lot of publicity.
Like the Congress guy who recently switched from Dem to Rep for instance. He’ll be speaking
at the convention. Not bad!
The Democrats have run the black communities completely into the ground. And now they have reduced their rich culture to one where if anyone does anything outside of hip hop or basketball (well, and football too), they are accused of “acting white”. The out of wedlock birthrate is so high that it is the norm and the culture has become matriarchal. Many black boys expect to go to jail as a “rite of passage”. It is now a culture where working for corporate America is “Uncle Tomming”
Visit any black community around the country and you will notice that the small business owners are overwhelmingly non-black. Even the black hair care industry (an industry that sells products only blacks can use) is dominated by Koreans! Why? Because for the past 40 years, Democrats have encouraged dependency rather than opening businesses and entrepreneurship. Gotta “keep it real” right?
What about crime? Is it Republicans that are going into black communities and doing all the killing? (Of course not! Were that the case even once, we would never hear the end of it in the media) There are murders of children all the time in the black community. Lives being snuffed out and yet no one says anything about them. Why? Because they are killed by other blacks. The life of a single black killed by a non-black is worth infinitely more than all the thousands of blacks killed by other blacks. Oh but they have to “stop snitching” right?
And with polls like that, we will see some article later in election season where blacks are complaining that they are being taken advantage of. Or complaining about all of the above.
No, the Republicans don’t care about blacks either, but the mistake blacks make is in thinking that the Democrats actually do! The solution is to invest in individualism and self help and not hope in the gov’t.
Quite a picture, don’t you think? Uncle Thomas the Race Hustler suggesting that an African-American who doesn’t agree with him politically is either brain-damaged or on crack, as well as deluded. Typical of the race hustling breed.
I wouldn’t say the poll is unbelievable. It has a margin of error of 3.1%. So, if I understand these things correctly, it is telling us that Romney’s support among African American voters may be around as much as 3%. Since Senator McCain received 4% of the African American vote in 2008, it is very believable that Romney is running around 3%.
When you consider the crazy attacks on Obama during the last four years that have nothing to do with policy disagreements and everything to do with a cynical attempt to demonize the president as somehow “other” than the rest of us and that Romney just the other day tipped his hat to that sort of thing with his birther “joke” in Michigan (which is hardly an isolated one off event), does anyone seriously expect Romney to poll better among black voters than McCain did? Seriously? John McCain was a decent man who, to his great credit, corrected a voter at an event in 2008 who had been duped by the awful people peddling nonsense about Obama. He didn’t pander to it like Romney does. He had some damned integrity.
How in the world is someone as mealy mouthed as Romney going to outperform a guy like McCain? It ain’t gonna happen. This poll is likely right on target.
The McCain campaign is talking crazy about their target for the Latino vote too. They say they are shooting for 38%. McCain only got 31% of that vote. And he actually spoke to that community in meaningful ways in an effort to earn their votes. To put it kindly, Romney can’t be said to be doing the same thing.
Romney must be counting on a whopping high percentage of white votes. Because he isn’t seriously competing for non-white votes. He is running a terrible campaign. The guy will be living in Utah or La Jolla or Switzerland or who knows where. But it sure won’t be on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Well, Dan-looks like you have it all figured out. Obama wins again and you don’t have to worry about getting your sorry ass off welfare. Your error in thinking……I mean in what you are thinking is that Romney/Ryan are pandering to race and ethnicity like Obama/Biden. Nope. They are talking sense and tell people they can succeed IF THEY WANT TO. You are still looking for that free stuff that everyone else must pay for. So as far as arguements go, you ain’t got one. You just keep pushing that dependency issue cause it appears there will be less “suckers” this election than last.
I would posit that this kind of poll is not really critical to any assessment. What might be of more concern to the Dems is just how much of the Black electorate will actually turn out to vote. One might take notice that we do not see in this election cycle what we saw in 2008: Blacks so enthusiastic at the prospect of the first-ever Black President that some went around claiming in rapture that Obama would fill their gas tanks and pay the rent. 15 % plus unemployment in the Black communities and 50% unemployment among Black youth — with no end in sight under Obama — could well be a reality check on electoral enthusiasm. This is not to mention the dismay of many influential Black clergy at Obama’s stance on same-sex marriage.
I saw a recent poll by a reputable Illinois polling organization which showed that, while Obama was taking the City of Chicago as expected by about 60-29, Romney was leading in the Cook County suburbs by 45-38. That should be of concern to the Obama camp. Illinois is a split state. Dems have to take a huge majority in Cook County to overcome the more conservative voting patterns downstate. In the last election for Governor, the Repub only lost by about 1% when the Cook County vote did not come in as heavily Dem as in the past. It’s something to watch. I would say that the Illinois firm might have a much better finger on the Illinois pulse than the national polling firms.
I’ve often wondered why the major metropolitan areas tend to vote Dem while the suburbs and rural areas almost always lean conservative. Is it because the fed tends to loan most of the funds to support the cities? And if so, why?
