After the murders of our Embassy staff in Libya, the folllowing tweet was released by the State Department on the Cairo Embassy attacks:

“We condemn the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.”

It has since been deleted.

Obama has finally issued a condemnation of the murders and attacks, but not after first attacking Mitt Romney for having the audacity to denounce the State Department’s tweet – which Hillary Clinton doubled down on:

“The U.S. deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation”

I don’t buy it. That tweet was cleared or encouraged by the Administration.

This article would be funny if it weren’t serious, as the Obama Administration was forced to denounce the tweet from it’s own State Department.

So much for the Arab Spring.

Just like “peace”, justice is also subjective. In a place like North Korea or Iran, justice = a boot being stamped on one’s face …forever.

Peace is the absence of anyone criticizing the state ideology/religion/what have you. Justice is getting rid of those who dare to do so swiftly. Obviously that is not the case in our country.

This all comes back to what I was saying about a society having a people who value life and property (especially of others) as its underpinning in order for democracy to work. If a society does not value life, then you get what we see in Egypt, Libya, and Yemen.

Wait for all the facts to come in and do nothing in the interim. That coincides with the policy of this administration. Do nothing now, spin it later, apologize to those who wronged us, say it won’t happen again and then move on. The intelligence community knew about this before it happened. The facts of what happened were known Monday. The community can only give intel and recommendations. It is up to the administration to act upon this intel. Some is and some isn’t be acted upon but not in a way you may think. It is uglier out there than what you could ever think and more is right around the corner. You and others may not be privvy to this but the President sure the hell is. Action should have taken place last week–it wasn’t. Action should have taken place Monday. Not what was recommended. You meet force with greater force which gets your foe’s attention (force is what these countries understand and respect) and then you can talk. Talk is cheap and useless at this point and this administration is full of talk with zero net results. But you go ahead and keep backing this lame nag and spewing things you have no earthly clue about. That is why the MSM likes individuals like you. You believe exactly what they tell you.

As for what the intelligent community knew and didn’t know, I am impressed with your vast insight into that book. That sounds very appropriate at this point in time.

Qadaffi also proudly admitted to killing over 250 in the Pan Am Lockerbee Scotland bombing. But heck, he was being a nice boy of late, let him continue the oppression. I don’t think so.

Qadaffi was dirty and knew his days were numbered towards the end. So he spent a lot of bounty in hopes of getting an “out of jail free”. He also sold his soul to the CIA and other international intelligence organizations pumping them with intel in exchange for an air conditioner for his tent. And no threat of a bullet to the head.

Sounds sorta like dilemma Bush 41 faced with Noriega. Bush 41 made the right call; Obama made the right call. That’s what good leaders do, they give the green light to important missions.

Hmmm, British news outlet “The Independent” reports that, per diplomatic sources, the State Department had “credible” information on possible attacks on our installations in Libya 48 hours prior to the Benghazi attack. But, apparently, there was no hardening of our targets there and no security restrictions on the travel of personnel. Something to watch for possible confirmation. Now I hear that State has declined to come and brief the House Select Intelligence Committee on Benghazi. Perhaps the worm of “bad judgement” could be making a U-turn here.

I read the article too Wolve. Apparently lots of documents siezed from both the consulate and the “safe” house.

More murders to come, no doubt.

They also report a smoke inhalation death, with friendlies rescuing the body, but it is told in quite conditional terms.

As more photos surface of the Ambassador during his “rescue”, I have to wonder at the number of cell phones held out toward the body in each picture.

I guess they were sending images to the ER so they’d be ready to treat him? That must be it.

Wow, lots of info in that clip Barbara. And lot of questions. Sounds like we could have lost a lot more people if it weren’t for a few brave security people. Those two former SEALS sound like heros.

Why wouldn’t they have had better physical security? When the article mentioned bulletproof glass, it reminded me of what I heard in Iowa this summer. When the POTUS stays in out of town hotels the windows of his room are replaced with bulletproof glass before he arrives. This happened on the POTUS recent trip to Decorah, Iowa at the Winneshiek Hotel.

Before everyone gets all told you so, this is done by the secret service and has been done that way since 9-11. Seems a serious risk assessment needs to be done for our consulates. I wonder what security policies are in place for consulates as opposed to embassies.

Barbara, Romney got what he deserved I beat down for being reactionary without first getting the facts. Also sounds like that film maker needs to be brought in for a little sit down. At the least he should be investigated for inciting a riot.

Time to move on to lessons learned. As much as Romney hopes to make this political I don’t buy that. The strategy is political but the tactics are not.

The debates are a legitimate forum for discussions the legitimacy of the foreign policy strategies. Obviously Obama and Romney have different approaches. Maybe this will force Romney to reveal what he’d do instead. At least at that moment in time.

One problem with “he got what he deserved”: he responded to the stupid tweet sent BEFORE the riots started. The Pres later said it was inappropriate too. So, O agrees with Romney.

Now on to really inappropriate: providing money and arms to a destabilized hot bed, no protection to the people who serve there, skipping your security briefings for a week before 9-11, and jetting off to raise campaign funds in Vegas before the autopsies are complete.

Maybe he’ll get what he deserves in November, then we’ll get what WE deserve: a chief executive who actually believes he’s got a job besides campaigning on his own everlasting wonderfulness.

WHY are tax returns more relevant, BO? I would say that the classes he chose, and the professors he chose, are quite relevant. They were even more relevant four years ago, when he had no executive experience whatsoever. (Heck, the reason he would not release his medical records is because they show he had never even run a fever.) Now, of course, we see from experience that he is completely incompetent.

(We also have the possibility that he was actually here as a foreign student.)

But what, exactly, do you expect to see in Romney’s tax returns that would be relevant?

Let me see. The White House issues a statement throwing the embassy apology under the buss. Romney is critical of the same apology, and the LSM declare Romney needs to apologize? LMAO! These people are absolutely desperate.

The White had intelligence that the attacks were coming, and failed to act on it. But according to LSM the Romney campaign is having trouble with Middle East policy? Obama talks about soft power. There is no power, just soft. Barbarians know a soft target when they see one. The Marines in Egypt were not issued ammunition? On top of it, Obama is throwing our only real ally in the region, Israel, under the bus.

I thought there was a moritorium here on the pre-fact Romney posture? Come to think of it that was self imposed.

I do find it interesting now that folks are trying to use Romney’s mistep to toss this way over to the other extreme and make the developing facts on the ground as political. First to cover for his knee jerk statement and then to attempt to score political points against Obama and bolstering Romney as having a better grasp of the situation. Probably has to do with the recent poll that came out highly critical of Romney’s ability to handle foreign affairs.

“Who would do a better job handling foreign affairs?” Obama 56% and Romney 37%. That looks dismal for Romney no wonder he is attempting to take a highly volitale mid-east crisis and turn it into something he can exploit for political gain. The hard work for him will be justifying whatever alternatives he has to this situation in the debates. I’ll wait with baited breath for his brilliant ideas.

Also, blaming this on the media always comes off as whining. We have a fair and balanced media. Well funded, highly advertised, and widely distributed. It’s a copout to blame the media for folks not agreeing with you.

I get the freedom of speech thing ACT. I am more interested in the amateur Scorcessi’s motives and financing.

I do think an understanding of the muslims and their concepts on government and democracy should be taken into consideration.

First, free speech is a foreign concept to folks in northern Africa and the middle east. The concept of someone being able to speak ill of religion, or make fun of it is is unfathonable to them . It doesn’t exist in their world. We are use to it, admire it, and exercise it. But free speech to muslims in that part of the world is something that can lead to death.

Second, muslims in the middle east consider America the most powerful government in the world. To them government is something that runs everything, including what is published or produced. So to muslims the concept of a free person creating a hateful video without the government knowing about it is also unfathonable. So to them this movie was condoned by the US Govt. You and I know that not to be true, but they don’t grasp the concept.

So, a little understanding to how we are dealing with this part of the world and their perceptions of our culture and government must be taken into account. Maybe it’s an educational issue. (on both sides)

As for your views on my views, an open mind will help you. Maybe.

Not sure Barbara, I’ll have to look back at the poll, but I get your point. Heck even with a margin of error of 20% it still doesn’t look good for Romney. And I do think there is an undeniable perception that Obama is strong on foreign policy, much more than Romney, and that Romney is stronger on economic issues. The debates will be very interesting.

BE, you make a plausible argument on behalf of the Muslims “in that part of the world” and I am inclined to agree to an extent. BUT, how long can a people be considered “dumbasses” when the education of that people is suppose to be a moving object? Free speech didn’t happen yesterday in this country or others and Muslims that come here already now how to utilize it in their favor. It has been explained to them repeatedly. The problem is that they are easy to incite because they are so gullible. Similar to the people in this country that buy into the liberal lies. They are who they are and will always be, as is shown in their history. They live and die by their faith (unless they have been enlightened and come to Jesus) and will always be pawns to be used by those with nefarious intent. I don’t know if we still broadcast but Radio Free Asia or Africa would be one way to educate them. They have cell phones and they have internet which means they have ACCESS to the truth if they so desire. I know you like the under dog and that you want to save the world but WHEN will you ever allow the accountability fall on the individual? Stop making excuses for the people you so ademently try to protect and let them succeed or fail of their own accord.

As to your views: you look at every issue as a point to build Obama up (undeniable perception that he is strong on foreign policy) and tear Romney down (jumps the gun before all the facts are in, trying to politicize the issue). There is no openness there and has a tone of spite and even hate. Obama only fools the sheep. ANYONE using logic and the events see the truth and don’t see it your way. You are buying the hype and the facts and figures don’t back your statements. As jacob would say, this is purely delusional. I tend to agree. You appear to missing a lot of the reality of things.
