Yank, it is a little known fact that long before your Viking kin made it down this way, the Mongols from China had already been here and gone (yes, they rode their horses across the Aleutian land bridge). What this means is that your brethren got seconds. Just deal with it the best way you can. btw Chris Columbus didn't care cause he wanted shiney things--not women.

Evan, pay attention. I have watched and read all thee is on the subject. Did I not say the coming of the Jaguar King? Did the article you site say the cleansing of the old world and the beginning of the new? Jehovah's Witnesses belief. Yet schloars can never fully translate these ancient languages (inclusive of our own Bible) and one word can always make the difference. Don't be too hasty to rely on those scholars who are being denounced on a semi-regular basis for their "knowledge". I don't believe anything unusual will happen but I'm playing an open hand on this. And the events I mentioned, not unusual to themselves, are unusual when they are combined and occuring in a short period of time, which is what I said. Reading comprehension is a pre-requisite for commenting here. We already have enough individuals that have failed in the public school system.

Wolverine

I'm HOWLING at your story! Great stuff!

Those Vikings must have left som babies behind when they sailed north.
You have any info about them? Maybe they were sacrificed to the Mayan gods
to keep Ragnarok from happening.

You guys have got this thing all wrong. Let me tell you what really happened here.

One day some of my Viking ancestors were sitting around getting snockered on some very good mead when one of them came up with the idea of going for a boat ride. Well, sir , those boys were so drunk that they clean missed North America and wound up in the Yucatan, where they met a bunch of Mayans.

Whilst they were fooling around with some of those cute Mayan girls, the pillow talk of the boys happened to wander toward how the world might end. They talked about how the world would start to end when that stinking nasty god named Loki would break free of his chains and start a huge war between the gods, dragons, giants, and every other jackass in the world. They called it the Ragnarok or something like that. You would know that the end was near when Thor the Thunderer would lose his hammer in the melee and buy the farm. Then the whole planet would go up in a ball of fire, and the current world would be replaced by an entirely new world. Don't ask me how they were going to do that. Some stuff you just don't question in Norse Sunday School.

Well, anyway, one of those Mayan gals accidentally started talking about the Ragnarok among family. When everybody wanted to know where she got that business, she realized that she couldn't admit to messing around with those Vikings. So, she claimed all this stuff came to her in a vision. And that's how the Mayans came to claim it The Vikings sobered up and sailed back home, never even knowing that the Mayans had plagiarized their end of the world story.

Um . . . yeah there's nothing to worry about. First of all, because there's no reason to believe the Mayans (or anyone) could predict the future. Second, because none of the "unusual" events you're discussing are all that unusual. Third, because even if you think the Mayans could predict the future, they didn't actually even predict the end of the world in 2012 (http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2011/12/111220-end-of-world-2012-maya-calendar-explained-ancient-science/)
