Of those 800,00 supposedly “new” jobs in the Household Survey (vs. 114,000 in the Industry Survey), 582,000 were part-time jobs.

We’re not creating jobs — we’re just breaking one job into four. But for the unemployment numbers, it count as “a job.” Meanwhile, the U6 is unchanged.

Two months ago, 1.8 million so-called “Dreamers” age 16 to 30 were allowed through an “Executive Order” to apply for work permits. How many have or will before the election take jobs that were not meant for them?

Don’t give me that low wage crap, many will qualify for high paying jobs and they will be competing with citizens. The problem is that they will take the jobs for a lower wage.

Contrary to government reports, there has been a huge increase of Illegal Aliens in that age range Illegally crossing the border since that “executive Order” took effect to submit their fraudulent documents to get in on the scam.

Uh, technically true – even though it’s still below the amount needed to simply keep up with population growth, and even though most of those jobs are low-paying service jobs and part-time jobs with few benefits. come to think of it, there’s nothing in any of that to be happy about, except to say “it could be worse.”

I disagree, Ed, the “left” didn’t willingly give up single-payer and closing Gitmo as some kind of favor to the President – in the former, they simply didn’t have the votes, although there’s certainly much in Obamacare that rather cynically will eventually create the conditions for such a system.

The latter, Closing Gitmo lost its wedge appeal the instant the election was over, much like the entire anti-war movement. Those things were only sticks used to beat GWB and, by extension, John McCain. When’s the last time you saw a “Close Gitmo” or “Bring The Troops Home” protest or editorial in the NY Times? 4 years ago, right?

You didn’t actually believe those people actually cared about AQ prisoner conditions or our troops, did you??
