HFTB….It’s like pouring all those dollars down a sewer. People tend to see what they witness with thier own eyes. Basically…all the money that Romney spent just advertised what they were about to see Wednesday nite. And the “truth in advertising” was right there for all to see.

The podium to the left (how appropriate, huh)of Romney had a sole empty chair sitting behind it.

Good points, BPM. The Obama campaign has spent hundreds of millions trying to define Romney, but all that effort went down the drain Wednesday night.

Marjorie, you are way off base. You don’t need to prep or need a teleprompter when what you need to discuss/defend are the initiatives that YOU pushed/promoted/passed/defend. If Obama can’t remember what he is doing then he has just made the case for his own demise.. That is not to say that altitude/lack of oxygen didn’t give him some dain bramage also.

Sorry, been to Denver and high altitude is not the reason but lack of oxygen from hyperventilating when no teleprompter is in sight followed with no notes was a real problem for Obama.

Carter went in to the 79 debate 3 or 4 points ahead of Reagan. The dems had defined Reagan as an angry old man who would cut entitlements and bankrupt the Country.
What the American people saw in that debate was a Reagan who was actually quite likeable and genuinely concerned, but pleasant enough and one who instilled trust.
Sound familiar?
We have also just been thru a similar meltdown in the Middle East that reflects closely on the problem in 1980, complete with Embassy meltdown.
And lastly, the self-identifying Republican/conservatives in the Country is at an equal number to those who existed in 1979 polls of identification….at around 37% right now…..

All this indicates a Romney win, short of something explosive in the next 30 days.
