And I’ll remind you of “when have we ever trusted blobs” (good name for some of them!–lol) the next time a local tempest heats up the teapot!

This is a lot more than political rhetoric, but that’s a convenient thing to project onto it when the “professional” media as a whole has put a lid on it…for political purposes.

More sources than that, including an interview on a milblog with a retired spec ops commander, who also explained the difference between a laser pointer and a synched target-painter.

This is much worse than has been acknowledged (not to mention directly lied about), and horrific in its parts and the whole.

Barbara, re-read the article. As ridiculous as that source is. Ask yourself why would this guy apparently have time to light up a target with a laser when there were no assets above to spike that light?

Really are you having to dig up info from a source called Pajama Media?

I agree with Condi Rice this should be left out of the political world and left to the professional investigators. I guarantee this will be gone from the limelight after the election.

The report is that the SEAL was “illuminating” the target with a LASER designator – why would he do that if there were no assets in reach? Was he hoping to blind the mortar team?

This story gets worse with every passing day …

ps – just stop, BO – the fielded versions of the AC 130 have 25mm and 40mm cannons for small area targets – no one would lob 105mm shells into a bult-up area when 25mm would do the job.

Regarding “directing fire”, one of the ex-SEALs was on the roof painting the mortar with a laser, and that doesn’t happen unless there’s something able to fire.

It sounds as if the drone providing live feed to the folks saying “stand down” (at least the ones still awake) was armed.

And then Joe Biden greets the caskets with “cue balls” remarks?

This whole thing gets more shameful as more comes out.

It won’t go away after the election, nor should it. Heads should roll–not in the terrorist youtube sense, but in the career and jailtime sense.

Right call in not letting it open up and fire. Fire at what exactly by the way? BTW, the article doesn’t even say the gun ship was on station? I highly question the validity of that article. Further what a biased website. No wonder you’re having trouble getting to a reasonable view on the world if that is the trash you read.

We continue to speculate without having all the info. Let the investigation continue, just as the Cole investigation did. It took a year to get to the bottom of that attack and it will most likely take as long with this one.

But darn, that time frame just doesn’t fit into a political motive for attacking Obama. Screw the hunt for the truth.

Did anyone dare even look at the comments of Condi Rice? She has it right.

BE, I can make lot of everything because in my world, I find that it keeps my sanity, which is priority for me and others. You don’t knowhow operator assets work nor do you understand the usage and precision of America’s weapon systems…..all of them. You remark to remark which usually steers things in a non-string direction while decemniating mis-information for the ignorant. Problem is, I don’t know if you are doing this intentionally or if you really believe the shit you espouse. Give it up on issues like this, talk only about liberal political standpoints, which you are also not knowledgable about but can’t really cause harm. This does not me I wouldn’t protect you and your stupidity in a crisis but it will cost you dearly (think latrine duty and going outside to sample radioactive air quality).

I do understand how your high regard for yourself and what you say makes you feel infallible. I have a lot of patience for those with special needs.

BTW, the gun application process does need to be reformed. As was debated here in great deal a while back. I am disappointed Obama didn’t have the time to deal with that issue. I imagine in a second term he’ll be able to take on the ridiculous control the NRA has over politicians.

Wolve, you nailed him. This clown argued in circles for weeks about how the gun application process in Virginia was flawed…and in the end, it was revealed that he didn’t even know what the true process was at all. He’d been misinformed by his talking points and got isolated behind enemy lines without backup…and was finally laid out as the fraud that he is.
