Um, like, well….I just axe that read this article.. From what I am reading with the comments, this comes just in time. Many have reading comprehension and I can start to understand why. The article seems to cross so many boundaries and touch most aspects of our lives and well being.
My daughters used to bug the heck out of me, always asking what this word and that word meant. “I need to do my homework and I don’t know what is being said”. Well, I fixed that. I bought them a Webster’s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary for them to do their own research. Between the useless complaining on their part and my being stubborn, they figured it all out and did fine by it. Their vocabulary and understanding excelled because THEY got better understanding by researching on their own. I don’t ever mind helping nor do I mind giving a push. I DO mind when I am being conned or expected to do the work for someone else who wants to take the easy way out. I see both the laziness and the results of a lack of initiative this article alludes to. Some people commenting here might be enlightened by it. As Wolve says, NVCC is right down the road and willing to help.
