Answer to your first stupid question–it doesn’t say the methods used nor does it matter. What matters is since 2006 (when the Dems had all of Congress) where the economy started its new life–spiraling downward–suicides have been up. Remember when I have mentioned on numerous occasions that “white collar crime” can cause fatalities? When you have crooks managing or stealing your wealth, it impacts people differently. When you lose what you have worked your whole life for and you have no time left to start over, stress and depression make bad bedfellows. Many people just can’t handle it. This is not a joke and those that perpetrate these type crimes (inclusive of cyber attacks) should have severe penalties that match life in prison or even death penalties. Putting yourself in harm’s way is one thing, someone else putting you there is a different story. Sure glad I have that big old government safety net to cover my ass.

Glad to see the 1st Amendment still works in this country for all people and groups. I ran across this article and found it interesting but for different reasons then you would suspect. It appears that Memphis wants to change the name of three public parks in a show of “moving forward”. Unfortunately it is trying to do so while a bill runs through the Tennessee legislature STOPPING this type of political correctness knee-jerk action of others. Me, personally; I get very tired of trying to erase history because of what some people feel is offensive. History teaches us mind-sets and lessons and to erase it is to wipe it from our knowledge so that we have the opportunity to live it again at a later date. I would no more allow the changing of a Confederate park name then I would Kennedy airport or any Vietnam era named place. We all have things that go against our grains and beliefs but, by the same token, we believe strongly in some things that others have no regard for. I’m sure the doves and hippies would love to eliminate anything smacking of “war”. Probably why there is a Dept. of Peace in our fed government but I digress.
I guess the Klan got involved on this one because of Nathan Bedford Forrest park, being the name of one of the original formers of the Klan. Now I won’t tell you the Klan’s original intent of terrorizing and intimidating the godless Republicans. Or that he quit (divested himself) when the thug element took over for their on conceived purposes. That would be trying to change your vague knowledge of history, which would be an impossible task for me. No, the Klan quickly morphed into a hate Negroes, hate Jews group, bent on destruction and murder for hates’ sake. White supremists, whatever that means. Anyway, the Klan will rally in protest, not knowing what numbers will be on hand until the rally occurs (brings to mind the statement “we won’t know what’s in it till we pass it”) and it is MANDATORY for members to attend (sounds like the Klan went Union. Hmmmm. Did I just hit on something?) The imperial wizard (not to be confused with Dumbledore) makes this statement for his call to action: “Every time we turn around, they are trying to take the white people out of the history books”. I never knew that, did you? I can just see some of these guys’ job application resumes: Organizations: Rotary Club and the KuKluxKlan. Highest level of education: IQ= 47 eleventy. Matter of fact, to sum up this bigoted, neanderthal hate group, I would refer you to a comedic skit done by Dave Chappell, which is the funniest skits I have ever heard. Although the language is VERY controversial, its intent and comedic aspect gives it the “flavor” for Klan and racism. You can watch it here.
The only thing left now is the rally itself, the brawl that will ensue, and how many bloody sheets will be laying in the streets of Memphis. My popcorn is ready.
An interesting e-mail came to me, which you can read below the fold. It was sent from the military side of my friendships. Interestingly, those military and ex-military SES/GS individuals WANT the sequester to happen. When I asked some “why”, I was told, almost verbatim in unison; “I’m tired of the bullshit”. Many relish the reduced time, as well up-ending the apple cart to make a statement. Mama is even looking for reduction in time, depending on how they dole it out by responsibilities.
I researched the author and title to find validity before I shared it. It is located at this site. I cannot attest that the conversation took place so I must give the benefit of the doubt to the author. I tend to give it credence just by the “parlor talk” and how it unfolds. It is perplexing to me why the informed individual must seek out the truth and facts, while the uninformed just swallow whatever is fed them. It appears that you all need to talk about this. 28 people are dead. The killer is dead. The mother, a school teacher, is dead as is most of her class at school. This we know. I heard it on the radio while driving home from work yesterday. I turned the radio off after 10 minutes. All the news on the TV was about this killing. I watched something else. Gun control was said to be needed now. Of course they would say that. This was a tragedy and I accept that. I have become callous to this type event anymore. The whole world is full of anger and evil and this is just another every day occurrence within it. You have your say and hash it out here but after I say my piece.
I talked to a lady in line at the store today. The cashiers were exceptionally slow. I found out that she is 73 and has 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was a pharmacist for over 15 years and unhappy until GOD came to her and told her where she would be happy–working at a senior home. She is a very passionate woman with a lot of love. When she talked of things, she was hard pressed to hold back the tears of both joy and sorrow. She detests this president and the congresses for many decades. She hates how the government uses military personnel as pawns and the scarring they receive for life. She can’t understand how things have gotten out of control but she is doing her calling and happy for it. She blessed me and mine and I hers. We wished each other Merry Christmas and I told her I fondly wished our paths would cross again. We both came away better for the encounter.
The hypocrites will talk here about gun control for some tragedies of late that has occurred on our soil. Thing is, where is the outrage I don’t hear about for the school buses blown up in Israel? Those are children too. Genocide from made dictators because of skin color or religion. Hackings and beheadings of innocents for no particular reason. The baby drowning in a toilet or bathtub. The negligent parents who allows the child to get out of sight and hit by a car. The men, women and children that suffocate in a truck or sea container. The abortions. Those kids won’t have another or any Christmas. Those people won’t be able to grow and enjoy life. If but one person dies a senseless death ANYWHERE, it is a tragedy. Where is the voice and constant outrage for them? You will have many excuses but they will be hollow and of no worth.
You can teach right and wrong but that isn’t enough. Right and wrong has very little consequence. You must add good and evil and you must add GOD. Not a false god or prophet but the one and only true Father in Heaven. When you teach good and evil and everlasting life and damnation, that shows consequence. When you think that 60 or 80 years on this earth and then death is all there is, what is the point? Where are the boundaries and lines not crossed? GOD doesn’t allow or make these things happen. Man and free will do it alone. GOD gives standards and guidance to follow. It is HIS punishment we need teach and worry about. Time here is finite. We are given instructions on how to act. It appears, like most other instruction manuals, that they are discarded and some of us feel we can figure it out on our own. Those instruction manuals have warnings and dangers that need to be heeded and consequences can ensue with improper operation. Babble on about what you believe is the problem and solution but you most assuredly will miss the core value. These tragedies happen every day and will continue to until we learn to read the instruction manual and heed the warnings. I find all the tragedies of the world disgusting but not as much as the people that lay blame other than where it belongs–within ourselves.

Disturbed people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he’ll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody. CNN’s article says that if the body count “holds up”, this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer’s face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer’s identity? None that I’ve seen yet. Because they don’t sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you’ve just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next. You can help by forgetting you ever read this man’s name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news.”
I like my Christmas shows and music. It heightens my feelings and strengthens me during this time of year. I feel that when good cheer and peace is spread through Jesus’ name, we tend to me more civil and obedient. In other words it makes us better people spiritually and morally. We also become more charitable in our daily lives. I wish that I was better holding that resolve throughout the year but I find that life’s ugliness tends to change my focus. I wish I were a stronger person and I continue to try to be.
I find the Christmas shows to be geared toward Santa Claus and mannequin boyfriends then acts of kindness, charityy and family. Those shows from yesteryear aren’t hardly produced anymore.. The music like classical WGMS with its Christmas renditions are gone. The Christmas archives were given over to WETA (PBS with NPR) and other than some instrumentals, the Vienna Boys, Cambridge, Mormon Tabernacle and other choirs aren’t played. Seems that we are cutting back on Christ and going forward with a “holiday” norm for society. The decorations of blow up Santas and Frostys tell the story. It wasn’t that long ago when you got the greeting “Merry Christmas” instead of happy holidays, if even you get that. It used to be that homosexuality was kept in the closet and GOD was in the open. It now appears to be the other way around. What has become of the true Christmas?
I read this article today. I government health panel is promoting this. What captured my attention in the article was the number “65″. Here are some dots: Medicare at 65 (soon to go up), SS at 65 (now going up), both programs almost bankrupt, Health Care Act with boards that deny expensive drugs, operations and procedures on a “case” basis, baby boomers reaching the public dole phase. Have you connected the dots yet?
Quick story–for decades now I have to have a procedure every 3 years (started at 1 year and then every 2 years). This last time I asked my doctor if it could be pushed out to 5 years and he told me this: “after a couple more then it won’t matter and they will stop”. That would put me at……65. This number keeps coming up and it seems to be an ingrained foundation number with medicine. Reading this article you will see that after 65, those people are out of the testing range. With the social safety net running broke and the medical side of the house being costly, why is 65 so important? My thoughts are that you are now collecting “free” money and services and you have become a blight. I never want to think of myself as a negative asset or a burden but the numbers seem to prove differently. I cost too much and am not worth the costs. I don’t think I am reading anything into this but that number “65″ recurring the way it does, makes me think of the possibilities and it doesn’t seem to bode well for seniors.
There is no magic potion of good health and there is no fountain of youth or elixir of life. There is only you and the system and, it appears, if you get sick or disabled, the system would rather do without you than deal with you. Just my take.
Others have reflected upon this election with bewilderment. Many of us wonder when the “loose ends” will finally be tied. Reading some good comments and some bad ones also, I bring up lines in a movie called SHOOTER. It is your standard Hollywood fair starring Mark Wahlberg. I like Mark and I liked the movie. It is the normal conspiracy, con, set-up then cover up type of plot but that isn’t what makes the movie. It is the lines in the dialog that jump out at you. They can be used very appropriately for politics of today. With the discussions and issues that have been happening as of late, here are some of the lines that just stand out:
“Howard Purnell: Have you given your official statement yet, ‘cuz I would be VERY cautious about what went IN it.
Nick Memphis: Well, maybe I should wait for the report to come out, read it, and THEN remember.”
“Bob Lee Swagger: I don’t really like the President much. Didn’t like the one before that, much, either.
Colonel Isaac Johnson: You like the idea of the President, living in a free country. Do we allow America to be ruled by thugs?
Bob Lee Swagger: Sure, some years we do. ”
“Senator Charles F. Meachum: There’s always a confused soul that thinks that one man can make a difference. And you have to kill him to convince him otherwise. That’s the hassle with democracy. ”

The truth is what I say it is. And if it changes then the change will be the new truth. And so on…. This is what the informed citizen is up against…what is the truth? It is as elusive as a logical progressive. If this were about Bush, over zealous and contrived would be the outcome from every lefty with a soapbox 24/7 for months and even years on end. When it is one of their kind, it dies quickly and mercilessly. The truth is what they say it is. Live with that and just shut the hell up because you can’t win against stupid.
