Where you are held accountable for your convictions and record

I always have issue with not broadening rule on cases to stave out like cases. Narrowly put, the SCOTUS ruled that you cannot force someone to go against their religious beliefs; in essence. The liberals are livid. Ginsburger had the descent. Why is it that liberals think the Constitution doesn’t mean what it says, but rather has some hidden meaning that only they can decipher? I, personally, trust the Constitution’s understanding and believe the SCOTUS interpreted things correctly. This was a no-brainer from the beginning so I really don’t want to focus so much on the outcome but rather the process these things go through.

This suit started back in September 2012. It took that long to work up to the SCOTUS for ruling. During that period, healthcare was forced in full upon Hobby Lobby. Monies were taken but no restitution will be made back to Hobby Lobby. And what would have happened if the SCOTUS didn’t take the case? It would have been ruled from a lower court, where justice rarely comes to past since too many judges are completely political. My point is this: if the U.S. Government changes a law illegally, or takes executive action, from the initial time to its final conclusion, many lives and businesses are changed. Some will not come back to where they were before the acts were instituted. Time lost, money lost, goals not met, lives hurt or ruined. And where is the restitution? And where are the penalties, fines, incarcerations for the people and entities that caused the problem in the first place? Saying, things were done in good faith and on sound advice does not hold water when the effects put people in ruination. And what is to stop them from doing something similar tomorrow, to where we have to wait 2 years or more to get a final outcome? There must always be severe consequences to curtail this type of flagrant abuse. Yet, on the left, all I hear is silence on these type issues.

Now that many of the Democrat base in Congress voiced their disapproval of the VA scandal and for the resignation of Shinseki, they feel that the heat will be lifted off the party (as my logic dictates to me). Finally, a head of a department in this administration has been held responsible even though it was a resignation instead of a firing, which is what should have happened. And Obama says “Last week I said that if we found misconduct, it would be punished, and I meant it.” Yeah, well, how many times have we heard that empty rhetoric? And, for a problem that has existed before he became president, and the promise to fix when campaigning and every year hence, what got fixed? I believe the VA should close shop. Take all the employees and put them on the unemployment line. Use all the money saved and sign every Vet up on a FREE Obamacare policy–doctor and hospital restrictions and all. Moving from one government run program to another doesn’t seem like a smart move but at least it will give the same benefits to the Vets that every American has: lack of doctors; lack of hospitals; lack of all available care and procedures. It isn’t that I hate the Vets but the healthcare system of today. This would give the final death nell needed to go forward with a good, workable system.

I must admit that I have been waiting for one of Gaius’s thoughtful posts to liven things up but I understand the rigors of the daily grind and children, so I’ll give you a rounding of what is happening in the news.
LoCo wants to close 4 schools they own outright, which will save 2 million a year in operating costs. Meanwhile, 68+million will go to LCPS for fiscal year 2015. The tax rate went down .05 cents and my assessment went up 100k. That means it will only cost me another $1,000 in taxes. What a deal. And they have cut back many services in savings already. Hmm. Where is that Silver Line?
–Immigration reform…Dem….active.
–Equal pay for women….Dem….active.
–Koch brothers…..Dem….active.
–Bloomberg 50 million towards curtailing gun rights….Dem….new.
–Holder and Obama targeted with racism…..Dem….active.
–ObamaCare……GOP….semi-active (becoming obscure with diversions)
We have a guy feeding cows on federal land who won’t pay the Feds grazing rights. It got heated and civilians are toe-to-toe with armed Feds. Was getting ugly and not over yet. Meantime Putin is land grabbing more of the old USSR while everyone else in the world wags fingers. Ever notice that when big wars bring down aggressors, that nations go into downsizing mode with their military. The focus changes and the eye goes off the ball. During that period of non-focus, aggressors re-emerge upon the scene. Isn’t what keeps them in check are strong military nations at the ready?
Gas is up right when I am getting ready to go fishing. Why are we spending $2 for crop and processing to make $1 of ethanol, just so we can continue to ruin the internal combustion engines that use it? And food is going up. We feed ourselves and others with wheat and corn staple, yet there isn’t enough because of what is wasted as “alternate fuel”. If we took the same amount of corn and distilled it, we could save money, have less vehicles on the road and feel good about being anally raped. I guess being drunk has advantages and savings too. But, heh, ALL food is up. Steak is up (because they feed them corn I guess). I see new taxes on all my utility bills. What’s up with that? What is more important:desert turtles (who don’t like solar farms) or smelts that are nothing more than Egret food? Ever notice where many of the supermarket meats come from lately? Do you really like brushing your teeth with toothpaste that comes from the same country of massive pollution and lead paint toys that cause suicide in supervisors?
And we don’t need another 4 years of a woman president. It has been too long since we had balls in the White House. And we need more testicles in Congress too. A poster here thinks we need to build locally politically and move up. I agree, but I also agree that with a good role model at the top working down that you meet in the middle and get there twice as fast.
Out of all this news (or lack there of), that situation in Nevada with the cows has got my focus. The guy is wrong in his understanding of things. Should it have gotten out of hand? Yes, because the government is involved and that has rallied the people. The underlying theme here is freedom from government and in this case it doesn’t matter if the issue is right or wrong. It is a cause for the people and it will escalate. Could be the beginning of the people’s revolution. Someone is going to die and then all bets are off. Citizens have reached their breaking point and need a circumstance. I’ll be fishing and watching. If need be I might need to extend my vacation and visit the southwest although I’m pretty sure the uprising will come to a neighborhood near me in time. Until then I’ll be starving, going broke with taxes and healthcare. If you feel for my plight and to keep me off the government dole, you may send contributions to me here at NVTH. I promise that any excess funds will be used to buy more worthwhile things…….like bullets.

I watched this thing live yesterday and, even after taking some Tums and Dramamine, still felt nauseous. I knew it would be lies but, but holy guacamole, I thought I was looking at the Geico commercial with Pinocchio. This boy king is not only a joke but a great embarrassment to this country. He is qualified to be Mayor of D.C. But other than that, nada. Let’s look at lies then:

And now. Read some of the comments here. Two that jumped up are this:
“”A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.” ~ Thomas Jefferson “A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man, which debt he proposes to pay off with your money.” -G. Gordon

and this:
“If you don’t like your Democrat senator you don’t have to keep him/her. Vote them out. Liars all.”

The biggest lie of all has always been that if you don’t agree with ObamaCare and the GOP trying to repeal ObamaCare means they don’t want you to have health insurance. If I remember correctly, health insurance existed BEFORE ObamaCare. At last glance, there are still 40 million uninsured Americans that this law (I’m choking here) was aimed to resolve, except that everyone else got sucked in like a bad side affect. My, and most other entities, have open enrollment for two weeks, in which time you decide your plan so that it is ready BY THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. ObamaCare has open enrollment for 6 months (actually, you can sign up all year long) but STILL left out 40 million uninsured. The government just made 4 BILLION dollars off the uninsured and they still have no health insurance. Boy, this is working out great!

Don’t know why everyone is so ecstatic of what ObamaCare is doing for the general public. No matter how many articles are shown to the detriment of this law, it is lauded by the progs as a success. Well, here is but another article that says “no, no, no”. I like the cost per person being spent compared to the number still uninsured. With the money already down the toilet thru all costs, including and especially ADVERTISING this asinine program, we could have saved money by just targeting those who were uninsured.

Seems that the Merryland administration is giving up the ghost on their health exchange. I guess they siphoned off as much money as they could hide without raising too much suspicion. 125 million in tax payer dollars gone into someone’s pocket with nothing to show for the cost. Incredible? Incredibly stupid!

Let me explain. From the time I was a young child I always had an interest in science, gizmos and sci-fi–the “what if” science. All the books and magazines I read led to a future of robotic service to free mankind from work. Gene Roddenberry promoted this concept theory in his Star Trek series. People living life as they felt. No money because everything was “free”. Everyone had their niche and only worked their “shift”; always finding time for family, FO time or just hanging out in 10 Forward, getting stewed. Sounds so lovely, doesn’t it? Well, it seems we’re trying to get there without robots but still with the need of money.

The CBO came out with a report that shows Obamacare “frees you from job lock”. Read this article. Now normal people who feel they have job lock (and are currently working) would apply for a different position or even another job to get what they need BEFORE they changed or reduced hours. Here (If you can even decipher this inane diatribe) we learn that it creates entrepreneurs. You can now do art or yoga or be with the kids or just meditate all day in your bathroom and not have to worry any longer about your healthcare because it is subsidized. You can work less because there is always a dept. of the government that will give you a handout so that you are equal with the common person and how they live. In other words “who cares about work. Someone is going to take care of your dead ass.” And that care takes money……someone else’s money.

The recession ended in 2009. People still can’t find jobs and we enhanced 26 weeks of unemployment payouts to 99 weeks. Then extended it. Then extended it again. Who pays for that? Employers and taxpayers. We give and enhance the rolls of all types of subsidies. Who pays for that? The taxpayers. Now you have people with job lock becoming emancipated with healthcare subsidies. Who pays for that? The taxpayers. If you are on subsidies, that means you don’t make enough in payment to afford the goods…..which also means you can’t afford to pay much in taxes. So who are the ones that can afford paying taxes? The ones with job lock and responsibility. Only problem is is that there is a balance point where if more is paid out then comes in, you can no longer support the people on subsidies.

What does this mean? Let’s look at France as an example. Their work week is like 35 or 37 hours and when they retire, they get some irrational amount for the rest of their lives. They’re crying the blues because retirements cannot be fully paid out. Why not? They have socialized medicine. They don’t have job lock. Of course their tax rate is something ridiculous like 80% and their millionaires are leaving the country. Why would we want to emulate a culture and economy like that when we have seen that it doesn’t work time and again? Their economy sucks and is getting worse. Our economy sucks and, regardless of what the government tells you, we ARE getting worse.

I got two pieces of mail the other day. One was from my banking institution which relayed to me some new fees being introduced. This institution never had these fees before but now seem to feel they must supplement losses they are incurring. The other was from my benefits center. My employment agreement contained bargained 1x my salary in group term life insurance free and any multiples to 5 paid for by the employee. I have 1x in retirement. Now I am getting a statement asking for a significant tax (as reported to the IRS with Medicare and SS withholdings needed) for that insurance. I can pay for the same policy personally for LESS than the tax they want me to pay. And why are they asking for Medicare and SS from that tax? Seems companies are hurting from this economy more than is being let on and the government is finding more sneaky and devious ways to pick people’s pockets.

Don’t talk to me about job lock bullshit. Obama plus Obamacare equals the ruination of the middle class and America as we have known it. If I wasn’t raised correctly with moral ethics maybe I would even think about getting some of that free candy and become a squirrel whisperer!

This is what Obama said and feels the experiment should continue in Colorado and Washington.

“Laws recently passed in Colorado and Washington legalizing marijuana recently went into effect. The president said it was important for the legalization of marijuana to go forward in those states to avoid a situation in which only a few are punished while a large portion of people have broken the law at one time or another.”

Broken the law. I thought that the Feds had a law on the books that made marijuana an illegal drug?

“He said in the interview that users shouldn’t be locked up for long stretches of time when people writing drug laws “have probably done the same thing.”

Oh, okay. He just doesn’t want them locked up for long periods of time. But federal law trumps state law so aren’t those states legalizing marijuana doing something illegal just by the act? After all, he did have an interview back in 2012 where he said this:

“”This is a tough problem, because Congress has not yet changed the law,” Obama said. “I head up the executive branch; we’re supposed to be carrying out laws. And so what we’re going to need to have is a conversation about, How do you reconcile a federal law that still says marijuana is a federal offense and state laws that say that it’s legal?”

The president said he has asked Attorney General Eric Holder and the Justice Department to examine the legal questions surrounding conflicting state and federal laws on drugs.”

“I head up the executive branch; we’re suppose to be carrying out laws” Ya think? What a profound statement! You can read the rest of the interview here
