The people are coming out tomorrow to march against Obamacare 2.0. The socialists (Democrats) are desperate. They cannot pass this bill on an honest vote. They cannot pass this bill by bribing their fellow congressmen with our money. So. What do they do. They will pass it in committee and call it a day. The Slaughter proposal takes us into banana republic style government. This would be a law passed by fiat. Do we now call the DOTUS el hefe? What is wrong with this bill? A better question is, “What is NOT wrong with his bill?!” It is:

Riddled with Taxes: This legislation is riddled with tax hikes. They start by taxing those earning over $10,831 year who don’t buy health insurance $750—a tax that escalates to $3,800 as income rises. Health insurance, health care devices and drugs are also taxed, adding to the cost of health care, and decreasing the competitiveness of these businesses.
Medicare Cuts: The bill cuts $500 billion in Medicare spending, including over $130 billion in cuts to Medicare Advantage and nearly $120 billion in Medicare cuts for hospitals that care for seniors. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) says they “expected the Medicare Advantage plans to lose 2.7 million enrollees over the next decade” as a result.
Raises Insurance Prices: CBO also finds “premiums in the new insurance exchanges would tend to be higher than the average premiums in the current-law individual market…” (so we are doing this WHY?)
Force, Not Choice: This legislation includes an “individual mandate” forcing all Americans to purchase health insurance, like the Massachusetts law. Taxpayer subsidies will be given to those earning up to three times the federal poverty level. Those not qualifying for subsides will be taxed up to $3,800 if they do not buy insurance, and the Joint Tax Committee has confirmed failure to pay your fine could result in jail time. The experience in Massachusetts has left those caught in between unable to afford insurance and having to pay the tax.
Big Insurance Boondoggle: Forcing all the uninsured into insurance could bring as much as $200 billion a year in new premiums to insurance companies, including $465 billion in subsidies over 10 years.
Privacy Violation: This legislation would allow law enforcement agencies such as the FBI and the Department of Justice unprecedented unfettered access to medical records.
No Lawsuit Reform: This legislation fails to curb junk lawsuits. It doesn’t even implement the “demonstrations projects” on reform the President called for (despite the fact that states like Mississippi have already done so and seen medical malpractice insurance premiums drop 42 percent). Instead, it will “express the Sense of the Senate that health care reform presents an opportunity to address issues related to medical malpractice and medical liability insurance.”
Bipartisan Opposition: The only thing bipartisan about this bill is the opposition to it.
The Senate:a vote for “cloture” on this legislation is a vote in favor of government-run health care.

We will be watching your vote closely. Congress — VOTE NO! People — Now is the time to call your congressman. Now it is time to call the blue dogs in the house. Blue Dog Democrat means, ‘leftist pretending to be moderate’ in a right leaning district. Let these dogs know the jig is up.

Obama is a leftist ideologue. The press, our dear MSM sold us a bill of goods last November. They refused to look behind the curtain and see the great Oz for what he really is. A man who gives good teleprompter. A man who whether the MSM will report it or not is a pawn of the far left thug-o-cracy of Chicago. This is what we get for refusing to pay attention to the scam the NYT’s and the alphabets were pulling. Shame on US.

Couple days ago (I’ve been busy-my standard excuse) I received an official government first class letter from the Census Bureau.  You remember when we got those letters saying a stimulus check would be forthcoming and then another letter saying that the stimulus was almost here and then the stimulus check finally came (I guess)?  Kinda like Santa writing you a letter saying he’s coming for Christmas then another letter saying “have you been a good boy/girl?’, getting your hopes up just to find a lump of coal in your stocking for all the hype….which is more than I got from the stimulus.

When Wolf sends me official paid by the taxpayers first class mailings telling me what is going on in the district I think “I pay $40 for internet and am on your e-mail list.  Why did you waste my money?”  Others just throw it out without reading.  Thank goodness Warner and Webb are too afaraid to mail us what they are doing or what they believe in.  At least that saves 44cents per mailing.  “It’s only 44 cents, ACT.  What’s the big deal?”  Okay, let’s extrapolate that.

The census letter states to fill out the census when it comes.  Why couldn’t this go into the same envelope with the census?  Does that “warning” mean that people will cancel vacations and outtings, just sitting around so they can make sure their community gets their “fair share”?  Say 300 million people in America.  Divide by 4 for the number of members to a family (average).  75 million letters times 44 cents is $33,000,000.  But wait.  The letter was addressed to RESIDENT.  I believe that there are 25% more homes than families to occupy them which means that EVERY VACANT HOME will get a census letter.  That would be another $8,250,000.  I won’t even include business addresses because I just don’t know.  We are up to $41,250,000 for just the first mailing.  This does not include the mailing of the census itself and then, probably, an additional reminder to get that census back quickly.  That number could  possibly grow to $123,750,000 or more.  Mind you this is very rough ballpark figures.

Do you see where I am going with this?  There is now $123,750,000 less to distribute of your money to your community because of these mailings.  All for just 44 cents each.  If this was corporate America doing this then it would make “cents” because you have to spend money to make money.  The government spends YOUR money so that it can spend MORE of YOUR money.  I guess it is nothing more than trying to keep the USPS afloat without you knowing about it.  Otherwise, this just doesn’t make “cents” to me.

When I read this, I thought “You have got to be kidding me”. Either this guys is pure stupid, is dangerous beyond belief, or just doesn’t read what his speeches say prior to giving them (which implies incompetent, but we already knew that). The part that is most salient is:

“Like it or not, we have to have a financial system that is healthy and functioning,”

So our president thinks that we might not like having a financial system that is healthy and functioning. The connotation of the phrase “like it or not” is that even though the thing being spoken of is negative, wrong or evil, it is necessary. So our president believes a healthy and functioning financial system is not a good thing. 2012 can’t come quickly enough.

Obama supporters, are you embarrassed by him yet? I’m beyond embarrassed at this point, and I didn’t even vote for him (though he is an embarrassment to every American). I’d suggest he ought to resign, but that would put the worst succession of power chain up that anyone could imagine (Biden … yuck, Palosi … even worse). At least Obama is incapable of getting things done … the damage will be limited while he is in office.

Shocking! The Anthropomorphic Global Warming nuts have been manipulating the climate data! This issue is akin to the infamous Hockey Stick graph from a few years ago.  Now it appears that the bright boys in climate research have been hiding some other inconvenient truths:

Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more.

The article provided snippets where the local Global Warming conspirators tried to manipulate data, suppressed evidence, voiced thier own doubts in AGW while dreaming of attacking those brave enough to make evident their skepticism in the AGW hoax.    This is a glimpse into a workings of a cult.  A religion of tree, animal and planet worship.  Gaea save me!!  The green part of the left is willing to sacrifice humanity on this alter.  The hoi polloi need to be plowed under in order to make room for a brave new world.  One free from NASCAR.

This is hilarious.  The high priest of Anthropomorphic Global Warming, his most bloatedness Al Gore, is more than likely having a stroke.  Someone cut the microphone hook up PLEEEeeease!!!  AGW is little more than a means of the environmental-whack-jobs of pushing their brand of 21st century Druidism upon the rest of us.  Faith clothed in science.

The carbon credits are getting really ripe right about now.  They are little more than a scam masquerading as a crusade to save “The Planet”.   This is the point where the old snake oil salesman would be sitting on a railroad tie above the crowd with a generous slathering of hot tar over his scaly hide.  The white feathers giving him that ‘loser chic’ he so richly deserves.  I can picture ol’ Al looking like a farm raised turkey, right before Thanksgiving, with that look on his face — right before he finally gets the ax.

For some time, those from the Universal Church Of Global Warming, led by their prophet Al Gore, have been lecturing us on the imminent dangers from man-made global warming. It would appear that their house of cards is tumbling down yet again.

Hackers broke into the servers at a prominent British climate research center and leaked years worth of e-mail messages onto the Web, including one with a mysterious reference to a plan to “hide the decline” in data about temperatures.

Oh, the irony..

The following three clips are of a recent health-care town-hall staged by Representative K. Castor, Democrat from FL.  Castor, a pathetic party hack, tried to conduct the meeting like a campaign pep rally.  Why?  Because Castor could not afford to allow the town hall to develop into a discussion of the real issue, “What happens to private insurance after Obama-care gets passed?”  Castor tried to keep a lid on this question, and failed miserably despite help from a pack of union thugs used to pack the room and intimidate members of Castor’s constituency who came to the town hall with legitimate questions.

In the first clip, it appears that trying to push out the protesters is not really working.  This is because attacking a woman and beating up other protesters is not the way to make friends and influence people .  This all went on with the room watching as the union operatives pushed the door close.  The people (astro-turf-alert) on both sides of the door were influenced, in all the wrong ways.

Once Castor (Democrat FL)  got that bunch of pesky grass roots folks (astro-turf-alert) out of the room with the help of her Democrat sponsored union muscle, the pep rally began.  It appears that trying to intimidate the rest only worked so far.  The room exploded when more citizens (astro-turf-alert) did not buy the Democrat party line on the take over of 1/6 of our economy.  Despite the union toughs trying to look menacing.

I guess in Obama’s America only the one with the microphone can speak, especially if the one with the microphone is a Democrat operative; at least that was the ‘reasoning’ that the union thug presented when he told someone to shut up.  The rest of us members of the great unwashed are supposed to cheer.   Who can not clap for the sacrifice of veterans?  Amazing how the hippies of yesteryear, who spat on our returning troops, now try to use them as political props.  Being a Democrat means never having to say you are sorry.

Some do cheer until Castor, the one with the microphone, mouths one too many platitudes.  Then, when the BS-o-meters hit the red line, even the sheeple will erupt. This is supposed to be a dialogue.  These kinds town halls are the Democrat party’s idea of a dialogue?  Well, Obama said so — shut up, the Democrats want to clean up the mess.  Too bad, Barry, in America everyone gets a voice, even conservatives.  When Bush was president protest was considered the highest form of patriotism according to the left.   Now they left is insulted that someone dares to protest against them. The protesters are called mobs, and worse.

The people are allowed to speak after Castor leaves, and has her sound bites for the Democrat controlled media.  A woman asks the obvious question (astro-turf-alert), “Why did the Union Boss use his thugs to filter who got access to the room?” The answer is shockingly inadequate and mendacious.

The Obama White House asks people to report ‘fishy’ speech.  The White House sicks its goons on people at town halls.  This is how the left rewards patriotism of protesters?  Threats and beatings?!?  No wonder Obama did not condemn the Iranians, they are amateurs in comparison.  Hypocrite thy name is Democrat.

When confronted with descent in the ranks, the AARP ‘volunteers’ who where presenting to the membership, waddled their fat behinds out of the room in a snit, and took the microphone with them. It appears that give and take is only something conservatives need put up with.

This is not at all dissimilar from the anointed ones message to the great unwashed masses today:

“But I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.”

I guess the mess is the richest country in the world with the highest standard of living for the most people.    Obama is going to hit us with a deficit and a tax rate that will clean up this mess.  So get out of the way you peasants.  Otherwise some goons from the SEIU will beat up your grandmother.

When one considers the end of life counseling, or, Advance Care Planning Consultation, that is part of HR3200 one should take pause.  This leaves one baffled as to how could an organization that is allegedly an advocacy group for the elderly, support a bill that soft sells euthanasia?  This counseling embodies the whole, ‘just give them a pain killer approach’ to treating the elderly; in comparison maybe beating them in the street is a kindness.

Supposedly this is a big deal the past week, An Open Letter To President Obama. Haven’t been on the Web much so can’t say, but I saw it on Instapundit (who needs a link from me like Bob Dobbs needs my advice on meeting chicks).

Anyway, it makes for a nice meme. Let’s see:

- You scare me because you make Gary Coleman look like James Bond.

- You scare me because in four months you quadrupled the deficit. Most Americans won’t even realize what that will mean to them … until the inflation kicks in.

- You scare me because by your own professed standards on employment, you are an abysmal failure. In October, 2008 you railed against the fact that “760,000 workers have lost their jobs this year.” Yes, that was a rough ten months. But in your first four months in office, over 800,000 workers lost their jobs.

- You scare me because you are perhaps more tone deaf than the deafest, most tone-deficient, man without ear holes who has ever walked the planet.

- Tone deaf, I mean REALLY tone deaf.

- You scare me because you, sir, are a lightweight. And the rest of the world now senses it. On both sides of the aisle.

- You are, like, one av glitch away from launching the next world war. Hey – not that there’s anything wrong with that. Lightweights are fun at parties. Just not in an executive role.

- But speaking of parties, you’re probably the guy that everyone secretly hopes will leave soon, aren’cha?

- I will close on a positive note: The reason you DON’T scare me, Mr. President, is because incompetence strikes both ways, and there will be a limit to the damage you can cause – because you are winging it, as we all know. Serious people will have a close eye on you, and America will be ready to put the pieces back together once you and your crew are bounced out of power.

I think a guy who cannot think on his feet and has the administrative competence of a drunken carny will offer a rich vein to be mined in the coming months. Remember, November 2, 2010 will be here before we know it.

Now with some time having passed to observe the Obama administration and Democrat leadership in action, I think what has happened is a class of people saw an opportunity with a nation and society in financial straits and decided the time was right for larceny.

America voted for reform, but voted in a gang of thieves.

It is sort of interesting. Prior to the election, after watching GW Bush’s spend-fest for eight years, along with incredibly poor policy choices on illegal migration for most of his term, I had to wonder what in the name of Zeus it would take to bring back any sort of Republican Party legitimacy.

Turns out all it took was Barack Obama. Bush was financially irresponsible, but he was a piker in comparison to Obama when it comes to bad financial management. And by “bad” I mean “corrupt” because tripling spending and the consequent burden on future generations is not just a matter of differing emphases but is a matter of theft, plain and simple.

Luckily for us, Obama has managed to start out of the gate with the most inept team imaginable, already a laughingstock across the world, and so whatever his and Pelosi’s and Reid’s plans, they are going to run headfirst into the real world which obviously poses major obstacles for them and their witless compatriots.

So we will be tracking a new trend here, America Hoodwinked.

The resurgence of conservatism will be a refreshing result, but more tantalizing will be observing exactly when it begins to sink in with the public at large that they were sold a bill of goods, a lie, and that their pocketbooks are being cleaned out even as we speak.

My guess is the tax on miles driven in your car will be one of several first straws breaking the camel’s back. But next year’s taxes, and observing that the additional money we are paying is subsidizing lots of other people who signed up for loans they could not afford, and all kinds of crazy government programs which provide 8 new jobs while hundreds of thousands of jobs are lost in the real world, will land with a resounding crash.

My prediction for the top pop culture epithet of the next decade: “Yeah, but boy could he give a great speech. Ha ha ha.”

The big question is how much do they get to steal before America wakes up and runs them all out of town on a rail.
