Illegal Immigration Is John McCain’s 800 Pound Gorilla

September 17th, 2008 by joe

Now, in the calm before the five-week storm which will commence when the presidential (and vice presidential) debates begin, after which we will all need to simply choose a side, pin our ears back, and charge, there is still the opportunity to engage in policy arguments here on the GOP side of the fence.

For John McCain, that means the issue which still remains a stickler for much of his constituency is live, and in the past couple days it has become very, very live. Friends, I hate to have to say this, but I think we need to kill it until after the election.

John McCain’s 800-pound gorilla is his record as a boastful supporter of amnesty for illegal aliens. He wrote the “comprehensive reform” bill which was voted down in 2006 and was a supporter of its successor in 2007.

Believe me, I hated McCain for that, and I wanted Tom Tancredo to get the Republican nomination for president. Problem is, Tancredo got 1 percent of the vote in the primaries and McCain won the nomination. McCain has said he “got the message” and will pursue border security prior to comprehensive reform.

On the other side of the fence right now, as I write, is Barack Obama, the Democrat candidate who promises amnesty without strings attached.

Who you gonna choose?

“Dump Biden” Death Watch Continues

September 10th, 2008 by jacob

Novatownhall was out ahead of everyone on this one.  In a previous article by our intrepid joe Biden’s days were considered numbered.  I think Biden the guy just put a bullet in his own head.  This was chivalrous but dumb.

“She’s a truly close personal friend and she is qualified to be
President of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be
Vice President of the United States of America and quite frankly it
might have been a better pick than me,” he continued.

“I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate.”

moving right along … Joe you are a decent guy, please shut up.

First They Came for The Community Organizers

September 10th, 2008 by jacob

The governor of NY has stepped into the presidential political fray and claims that criticizing or deriding Obama’s much vaunted (by Democrats) experience as a community organizer in south Chicago.  Governor Paterson words as reported by WCBS TV in NY as follows:

“I think the Republican Party is too smart to call Barack Obama ‘black’ in a sense that it would be a negative. But you can take something about his life, which I noticed they did at the Republican Convention – a ‘community organizer.’ They kept saying it, they kept laughing,” he said.

Paterson referred to McCain’s running mate Sarah Palin who compared her work experience to Obama’s.

“So I suppose a small town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except with real responsibilities,” she said at the convention.

Paterson sees the repeated use of the words “community organizer” as Republican code for “black”.

“I think where there are overtones is when there are uses of language that are designed to inhibit other people’s progress with a subtle reference to their race,” he said.

So, conservatives are reaching real hard when we ask why he spent time with Bill Ayers? The role of community organzer in South Chicago revolved around getting more government funding for services that people typically do themselves.  Asking if Obama has the experience to be president of the US is a legitimate question.  Since Obama’s very own campaign harped on his experience as an organizer, why can’t McCain bring it up?

Obama, Scrambling Rightward

September 8th, 2008 by jacob

It is obvious that your opponent is making inroads when you start abandoning your campaign promises before the election.  In the past week Obama has reversed himself on several fronts.

The Military
Suddenly the military is not a hindrance to an American utopia.  Obama was on record saying he was going to slash tens of billions of dollars from the military budget.

His base called for even larger cuts in order to fulfill their pet projects, since defense is not a priority with Obama’s base. Now this position has been reversed.  Considering this is a time of war, those with an inkling of foreign policy acumen and historical perspective are nodding their heads and thinking ‘Yes, but that is obvious!’  Obama has recently let it be known that he wanted to join the military after high school.  Strange this comes up now.

With Friends Like These … part III

September 8th, 2008 by jacob

Picking up where Shiplap left off, I continue …

As I mentioned before, Obama has some interesting friends.  William Ayers was a founding member of the Weathermen.   This organization declared war on the the United States in the early 1970’s.  They conducted several bombings including the Pentagon.  Several members murdered police officers.  Bill Ayers’ only regret was that he did not bomb more, and presumably,  kill more Americans.  Obama began his political career in Ayer’s living room.

Holy Sh!t

September 8th, 2008 by jack

How else can one respond to the government’s takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?  I’m sure our resident socialists will be happy (or at least they would be if anyone but Bush had done it), but this is unbelievable.  Where the hell is Bush’s constitutional authority to take over these companies and assume such massive debt?  And even better, according to the LA Times:

Domestic reports indicate that China holds about $376 billion of Fannie and Freddie debt, Cao said, “so if those two companies went bankrupt, with all the securities that China’s central bank and the foreign exchange bureau hold, they could also go bankrupt.”

He said China’s central bank’s capital amounts to just $3 billion to $4 billion, after huge losses from the falling U.S. dollar and housing market. “I believe the central bank will definitely decrease the proportion of dollars” that it holds in the future, Cao said, echoing sentiments across Asia.

Tim Condon, chief Asia economist for ING Financial Markets in Singapore, thinks stock and bond markets in Asia, excluding China, will likely be big beneficiaries of the Fannie-Freddie rescue plan.

All the more reason to let them fail.  China’s purchase of these bonds fueled the bubble, so China should lose when the bubble bursts, not be bailed out by people (U.S. Taxpayers) who have been paying ludicrous prices for housing brought on by cheap debt, never-mind the increased property taxes.  That’s called Capitalism — you places your bets and you takes your chances.

But no, we have to bail out not only the idiots that took out adjustable rate mortgages when interest rates were at all-time lows (where did they think the interest rates were going to go, anyway?), but we also have to bail out the idiots who lent money to people who were taking such loans because they could not afford the higher interest rate of a fixed-rate mortgage.  When failure has no consequences, behavior gets riskier and riskier.  Actually, that’s wrong, because there is no risk anymore!  The risk is taken on by the government (taxpayers)!

I have to say it again: Holy sh!t.

With Friends Like These …

September 6th, 2008 by jacob

Obama has some interesting friends.   His former friend and spiritual mentor Jeremiah Wright is so interesting Obama had to disown him, after Obama became a public liability of epic proportion.  Then there is Tony Rezko, he is another interesting pal.  Then there is Bill Ayers, an anti-American terrorist who said he had not bombed enough (in his bombing campaign of America).  Then there is Mayor Kilpatrick …

Obama v. Palin II

September 4th, 2008 by jacob

As Governor Palin had to deal with the following …

- a 11 Billion Dollar budget
- 15,000 state employees
- a large energy industry economy
- tax policy
- education, transportation and environmental issues
- taking on her own party’s good ol’ boy network

Why are her two years of wrangling this frontier state held in derision but the 150 days Barak was in the Senate, make him experienced enough to be president?

Governor Palin Speaks, Obama See Your Doctor

September 4th, 2008 by jacob

Governor Palin came to the convention and gave a great speech.  Palin has speaking talents on par with Obama; the Governor will be a formidable asset to the McCain campaign.  She is comfortable on stage and can deliver.  Some of the lines were killer.  She compared some of her experiences with Obama:

I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a “community organizer,” except that you have actual responsibilities.

Ouch.  I guess in the final analysis there is a difference between making decisions and being a rabble rouser. This is killer.  Governor Palin went on to to deliver several other such strikes throughout her speech.  These strike where not just red meat, these where the political equivalent of a knife thrust.  To the point, deep and very painful.  Her delivery is first class, I only wonder what other treasures we might find in Alaska.

Feminists Against Palin

September 3rd, 2008 by jacob

It appears the left wing media a.k.a. MSM is going into full time attack mode on Governor Palin.  Lets start with Dowd a longtime feminista at the New York Times, she goes over the top:

when the two-year governor of an oversized igloo becomes commander in chief after the president-elect chokes on a pretzel on day one …

the former beauty queen shaking out her pinned-up hair, taking off her glasses, slipping on ruby red peep-toe platform heels that reveal a pink French-style pedicure, and facing down Vladimir Putin in an island in the Bering Strait. Putting away her breast pump, she points her rifle and informs him frostily that she has some expertise in Russia because it’s close to Alaska. “Back off, Commie dude,” she says. “I’m a much better shot than Cheney.”

I guess we are now seeing the second confirmed cases of Palin Derangement Syndrome.(Hat Tip: Malkin)  Colmes claiming she is the grandmother of her fifth child may be the first case. It appears that demeaning Republican women is a cottage industry in media.  Carlin attacked Barbara Bush by calling her a ‘Silver douche bag’. Senator Thompson’s wife was called a stripper by MSNBC.  The instances of nastiness toward Nancy Reagan are too numerous to go into, and Senator Hutchinson was attacked by Al Franken who made sexual references regarding the Senator.  The worst are the feminists who attack the women who do not agree with their anti-family, anti-male agenda.

If a woman is against killing her own offspring the people from NOW, Planned Parenthood, MSM, and left end of the blog-sphere will be coming for you.  You will be dehumanized,  mocked, and slandered because you have sold out.  This is not tolerated by the sisterhood.  The cult of tolerance finds conservatives, especially conservative women, intolerable.

Obama v. Palin

September 3rd, 2008 by jacob

The following is an outrageous claim that is true, “Governor Palin has more executive experience than Senators McCain, Biden and Obama combined.”  She has more time in office than Barak Hussein Obama.  Is she in the same league as McCain or Biden when it comes to foreign policy?   No.  But neither is Barak Hussein Obama.  The Republican ticket has its more experienced candidate at the top of the ticket.  The Democrats have their more photogenic candidate at the top of the ticket.

Suddenly experience matters to Democrats?  When the comparison is McCain v. Obama they mumble things about how bright Obama is and his awesome judgment. Take  his opposition to the surge as an example.  Instead of comparing McCain to Obama, they make the inherently invalid comparison between Obama, the top of their ticket, and Palin the bottom of the Republican ticket.  This is not going to hold water except among the Obamiacs.  The comparison is invalid because Palin’s opposite number is Biden, not Obama.  For the record, to humor this unwashed hoard, let’s make the Obama v. Palin comparison, just to set things straight …

The Left, True Bigots of The World

September 1st, 2008 by jacob

Just as every African American who is a Republican is a a sell out ‘Oreo’, it appears that every woman who runs on the Republican ticket will be subject to some vile misogynistic spew.  The KOS, DU, MoveOn and other left wing members of the blog-o-sphere  feed into MSM.  The Washington Post even joined in on this mess.

What was interesting was how one of Fox’s commentators, the alleged mouth piece of the evil Republican’s lead the charge into the absurd.  According to Alan Colmes, a leftist idiot whose lot in life is to be himself, thus making Hannity appear smart .  Colmes at his liberaland blog wrote a story blaming the sons Downs Syndrome on Palin having a job.

“Did Palin Take Proper Pre-Natal Care?”

Colmes has taken this post down, and has blamed that on conservatives.  His original post intimated that it was her job that kept here from caring for the child.  The guy ran from his statement as soon as he could.  The coward then claimed the response was uncivil in the main.  Then leave it up Alan, the words speak for themselves.

Frontier Governor

August 31st, 2008 by jacob

It appears that Governor Palin is a nightmare for Democrats.  She has a very strong on fighting corruption, and not letting the good ol’ boy network get sweat heart deals.  For instance from the Wall Street Journal:

After handily winning, her popularity in Alaska soared as she went on to sack political appointees with close ties to industry lobbyists and shelved pork projects.

She killed the bridge to nowhere.  She reduced the budget ! She lowered taxes, Alaska’s economy is doing better than the rest of the country.  Are you listening liberal whackos?
