Where you are held accountable for your convictions and record

First, I believe there are those that are peaceful Muslims. But just as Christians have sects that fight each other, Muslims have violent types as well.

Yesterday, a video was released that depicted violence juxtaposed with text of the Qur’an and quotations of spectacularly non-peaceful Muslims. It was placed on LiveLeak.com, but after they received many death threats, the video was pulled off. The removal statement byLiveLeak is rather chilling. What is sad, is that those that find it offensive I can understand, but those that threaten to kill people because of the offense only prove that the video is at least partially true.  Those Muslims that are reasonable, that find the video offensive yet share no values with people that perform the acts perpetrated on the video should find at least as much offense at those that have committed these acts in the name of their religion as those that point out these criminals.

If the Muslim world had as many protests with people rioting in the streets over the despicable actions of those that desecrate  the idea of Islam being a religion of peace then this kind of video would hold no traction with anyone. That there were fewer Muslims demonstrating against the criminals that flew airplanes into the World Trade Center than there were people celebrating gives the makers of this kind of video credit.

When people defame the Christian religion, you generally do not see rioting in the streets, and there is nearly universal protest against those that resort to violence in the name of Christianity. If the same were true for Islam, perhaps this video would never have been made, and if it were, it would not have gained any attention.
It does appear to be counter intuitive to say “We are a religion of peace, and if you say anything we don’t like, we will kill you!”

Useful Idiots

Well, it’s official. Democrat congressmen Bonior, McDermott, and Thompson, shilled against their own country on Saddam’s dime. Saddam paid for the trip. These three dolts who went to Iraq to take the opportunity to play partizan politics, acted as spokesmen for Saddam Hussein before the start of the second Gulf War. Unfortunately they did not realise that they actually were spokesmen for Saddam. This is both hilarious and tragic. I am sure that, being Democrats, Bonior, McDermott, and Thompson did not know. They were just too stupid to check. Lenin is laughing in Hell — his prescience is uncanny.

A prudent congressman, granted this is a term that is becoming an oxymoron, normally checks who is footing the bill, especially when going to a place like Saddam’s Iraq. When comparing Saddam to Bush it is obvious to the fevered mind of the Democrat that Saddam can be trusted sometimes, while any Republican President can never be trusted. These three were in such a rush to say as much that they did not bother to look at Saddam or Muthanna Al-Hanooti.

Muthanna Al-Hanooti, a Michigan charity official, [prosecutors say] was charged Wednesday with setting up the junket at the behest of Saddam’s regime. Iraqi intelligence officials allegedly paid for the trip through an intermediary and rewarded Al-Hanooti with 2 million barrels of Iraqi oil.

Bonior, McDermott, and Thompson, Democrats one and all, will heretofore be referenced as “The Three Stooges.” The Three Stooges were in such a rush to score political points against Bush that they did not bother to determine where the money came from. The trip was tagged as a ‘fact finding trip.’ I am sure that Saddam’s handlers would give these three characters free reign around the countryside. From AP

Oklahoma Sen. Don Nickles, then the second-ranking Senate Republican, said the Democrats “sound somewhat like spokespersons for the Iraqi government.” Seattle-area conservatives dubbed McDermott “Baghdad Jim” for the Iraq trip

The Senator noted that the three stooges sounded like some of Saddam’s thugs who did the talking for his regime. Why did these three engage in these antics: BDS. Bush Derangement Syndrome goes right up to the leadership of the Democrat house. They have lost sight of the fact that we are Americans first and our party affiliate second or third.

The Three Stooges used this trip to paint Iraq as a country united against us and behind Saddam. Baghdad Jim (D) WA (a.k.a. “Larry”), spoke of how he expected Bush to mislead us. David Bonior (D) MI (a.k.a. “Mo”) was convinced Saddam was fully cooperative. Bonior was the number two Democrat in the House in 2002. He voted NO on military border patrols to battle drugs & terrorism in September of 2001. To Bonior, we can’t go over there and we can’t keep em from coming over here.

Thompson claims he was there to see how the children of Iraq were faring. The evil trade embargo was having a negative impact upon them. In the meantime, Saddam had managed to funnel millions into the pockets U.N. officials. The U.S. was blamed for the misery in Iraq through the 90’s and before 2002. With some people, we just can’t win.

Whether they intended to or not, these three fools did give aid and comfort to the enemy. They shilled for Hussein in a manner reminiscent of Lord Haw Haw or Tokyo Rose. They are despicable. What is worse is that they are typical. Recall the human shields that went to Iraq before the war? The NYT blew the cover on an operation that was intercepting cell traffic between terrorists outside our country. Pelosi just scuttled the law that allowed for electronic surveliance of terrorists outside the country. There is a mindset that allows our internal politics to venture outside our borders. This mindset will destroy us eventually, for this behavior will only escalate over time. We used to prosecute people for acting like this and they suffered for such dalliances.

UPDATE I

Mc Dermott did not care that he as a tool for Saddam

We all know how expensive gasoline is these days.  We have also heard about the oil companies’ making enormous profits.  According to ExxonMobil’s 2007 Annual Report, the company’s return on average capital employed was over 30% for 2005, 2006, and 2007.  That is staggering.

Now, I am not begrudging the oil companies’ making a profit — whatever the market will bear.  I am not accusing them of collusion to keep prices up.  The problem is not the companies, but the market.  In a normal market, when returns are that high, a company will lower its prices to sell more of their product.  In the long run, this lowers prices to the consumer and increases the profits to the company.

The reason the oil companies are not lowering their prices is that they simply have no more gasoline to sell.  Their refineries are running at capacity.  Normally, a company whose plants are running at capacity would build more plants.  Unfortunately, because of short-sighted government officials and rampant NIMBYism, no new refineries have been built in the United States for years, and none will be for years to come.

The best the oil companies can do it to increase productivity at existing plants, and that will simply not be enough to meet the increasing demand.  Might I recommend a Dividend Reinvestment Plan?

Not sure if anyone else saw this story.  It’s unreal.  Bringing a child into this seriously warped environment and willfully denying them a true mom and a dad (dress up and surgery aside) is astoundingly selfish and hard to believe.  I really am speechless.

This would only be considered unfair if Barack Obama had not positioned himself as the know-it-all god man … but there it is.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife Michelle gave $10,772 of the $1.2 million they earned from 2000 through 2004 to charities, or less than 1 percent, according to tax returns for those years released today by his campaign.

The article goes on to note that after they sold a best-selling, ludicrously titled and interpreted book, they cut a nice check for charities which brought the percentage to 5%.

The paltry giving for someone who positions himself as eminently, didactically progressive is one thing. My family made a lot less money than the Obamas during that period, and gave more to charity, and we were not particularly charitable. We give a ton more nowadays, and have not sold any books in the meantime.

Besides a rather ungodly, pedestrian strain of stinginess, what the Obama family’s paltry level of charitable giving reveals is a disturbing level of normalcy. They have been doing the same stuff you and I have, and probably less of it.

So when the anointed one lectures America, America is right to ask “who made you Jesus?” All you fellow 1 percenters should ask where this guy gets the authority to demand we elevate our moral code.

Never let it be said that Nova Townhall Blog only worries about the big issues.  We worry about the little issues also.  Just so long as they are important to our readers.  That is why I want to promote some ideas that I believe would be beneficial for Loudoun County residents as well as all Virginians.

I think we should start finding and prosecuting those individuals who leave bags of garbage (Taco Bell, baby diapers, 3rd-me-down clothes, etc.) along side of our roads.  If we can’t prosecute to the fullest extent of the law then we should at least find out where they live so as to return their garbage to them as well as a few additional helpings.

How about those individuals who don’t use their turn signals?  They have to work to pass inspection and if you need to replace an assembly it runs a minimum of around $1000 so why not use them.  The signals actually aid in telling other drivers your intent.  Of course if you find someone who refuses to use their signals as they cut you off in traffic, write down their license and call the cops.  That is your civic duty and it is a crime related to aggressive driving and reckless endangerment.  Of course, I don’t think they can deport you (unless your illegal) but it does carry points and a heavy fine.

I also believe that we should be on the watch for the non-grasscutters.  It is the season and we don’t want our neighborhoods looking like the African velt.  If they use sheep or goats, turn them in as they are not considered lawnmowers (or pets).  Contrary to popular belief, neither are rats.

Nova Townhall is a full service blog and these are just a few of the many issues we believe are important to all citizens.  We are here to address YOUR concerns.  How may we help you?

Just some interesting points to note:

Stevens Miller: “It doesn’t take a study to know that when the employers stop hiring them, undocumented aliens won’t come here anymore…That’s why I want to see an end to the employment of illegal aliens in Loudoun.”

Andrea McGimsey: “We must crack down on businesses that lure illegal immigrants to our community… this situation is not fair to honest businesses that that hire legal employees and must compete with unscrupulous businesses which hire illegal immigrants for low wages.”

(It almost sounds like Ms. McGimsey was on board with the Honest Business Network and the entire Honest Business concept.)

Here is another blast from the past:

Stevens Miller Calls for Plan to End Illegal Employment

“The main ’service’ an illegal immigrant comes to Loudoun for is a job,” said Dulles district supervisor candidate Stevens Miller. ”I oppose illegal immigration and want to see effective measures to fight it. That’s why I want to see an end to the employment of illegal aliens in Loudoun.”

The Broadlands resident said he agreed with the July 17 vote by the current board, calling for county staff to study the problem, but added that, “while it’s refreshing to see Dulles supervisor Snow study a question before he votes on it, it doesn’t take a study to know that when the employers stop
hiring them, undocumented aliens won’t come here anymore.”

Saying it was time for private industry to clean house, Miller said, “I call upon Mr. Snow to ask his friends and donors in the NVBIA to deliver their own report, outlining their plans for preventing the illegal employment of undocumented residents, and for denying membership in NVBIA to anyone who refuses to abide by such a plan.”

Miller reiterated his belief that a blanket denial of services would be bad for the county’s honest residents. ”No one should have to shop at the grocery or ride a bus with anyone who’s been denied a flu shot. False solutions like that only create more problems than they solve. Eliminating illegal employment is the true solution.”

END

In spite of all their faults, the previous Loudoun County Board of Supervisors had sent on November 30, 2007, as part of their legislative package to the Virginia General Assembly support for action to allow local authority to deny building permits and business licenses to companies employing illegal aliens.

Everyone who pays attention to this issue knows that corrupt hiring practices are the reason we have an illegal immigration problem in Loudoun County. Companies who can hire employees under the table, or hire subcontracting companies who are themselves illegal, have a tremendous advantage over companies who play by the rules. Illegal employment is cheap, and allows companies to bid lower for jobs. Consequently, trades such as carpentry, drywall installation, siding, roofing, plumbing, and many others, are no longer available to American workers, because illegal workers have driven the wage base down to levels that no American worker can survive on.

As one of their first acts in office, however, both Stevens Miller and Andrea McGimsey voted on January 3, 2008, to rescind this legal-hiring enforcement recommendation.

The motion to rescind passed 5-4, with Supervisors Waters, Buckley, York and Delgaudio opposing, which means the change of heart by Miller and McGimsey is all that is keeping Loudoun County from having a pro-enforcement Board of Supervisors.
