While U.S President Barack Obama, the biggest recipient of BP Oil cash, has been partying into the night, the residents of our Gulf Coast have been pleading for help.
Attention American schoolchildren – this is Business 101: Here is what happens when you put a “community organizer” in an executive position:
Why? Well, because stupid is as stupid does.
For example: While thousands are willing to help solve the problem, the Obama administration takes the weekend off and insists everyone else do likewise.
This is how non-managers deal with a managerial problem: They dither, they delay, they do not make decisions. In the meantime, the disaster continues apace.
The state of Arizona has tried to solve a problem on its own, and the Obama administration is going to sue them for it. Bad managers do not solve a problem but only make it worse.
In the Gulf region, local firefighters are eager to help keep oil from reaching their shores. While the federal government is taking a long weekend, and considering lawsuits against the states, these volunteers are being told to stand down.
Hixon said fire chiefs offered BP equipment and knowledge and, in return, asked for the chemical make-up of leaking materials “so we could train our people to safely handle it, but we got no response whatsoever.” County chiefs became frustrated at the lack of unified command and the disregard for local resources, including boats and crews who have knowledge of the area’s waterways.
“You can’t plan on how to boom off an area from an office 50 miles away looking at a map,” he said. “It just won’t work.”
By the way: While these concerned citizens were being held back from attacking the oil spill, President Barack Obama was playing golf … again.
We can only wonder how long it will be before the Obama administration decides to sue them.
UPDATE: Captain Kickass rates low confidence in Democrat-skewed poll. I think if most people had any awareness of how long the Democrats have controlled Congress the ratings would be even lower.
