This morning, the discredited Special Counsel (“special” here, perhaps in the sense of “Special Olympics”) Robert Mueller indicted Paul Manafort and Richard Gates on charges completely unrelated to any Russian collusion to influence the 2016 election.

The problem with this is that Mueller was investigating people, searching for any crimes they may have committed. This is a political witch hunt. Pick someone you want to indict, and go through everything he has ever done to find something. In this case, anyone associated with the Trump campaign was a target. The object of the exercise is to discourage people from working for Trump, lest they too be investigated.

This investigation, started by a fake dossier paid for by the Clinton campaign, is a complete miscarriage of justice. Individuals should not be investigated looking for crimes they may have perpetrated; crimes should be investigated looking for the people who may have committed them.

The first crime in this case was the obviously bogus dossier. Investigating that crime should be the focus.
